  1. Amen. I don't think I'll ever get tired of admiring and playing with it. It's by far my favorite valk, and will only be equaled by my Ozma when I get it.

Oh, did I mention that the wings are straight? :)

Me too. Hopefully Bandai is convinced enough to consider VF-171 now

  2. Just got mine today. I have to say Bandai up the ante with this one. Overall shape is very close to the line art, especially viewing from the side; where most Yamato products look much thicker. Good second seat gimmick and the knife can actually be towed in the shield. My only gripe is the shape of the canopy. Viewing from the side the upper area look like a flat line rather than a continuous curve. While Bandai has done an excellent job in design, I can't say for the manufacturing. The plastic look cheap (it's semis gloss rather than gloss) compared to the recent Yamato products. The paint application is less than satisfactory. Put Yamato 1/60 VF-1 side by side and you know what I'm talking.

But for the price, you get a great design toy, stand with various adapter for different mode, different hands and an Alto in flight suite (with its own stand as well). I say this one is pretty reasonably priced where Yamato is pushing the boundary of many wallets. Despite some shortcomings, this is still one heck of a great toy. Yes, toy, you can play it without too much worry of breaking it. I'd say it worth every dollar you spent on it.

With this, I hope Yamato would consider more on their price tag.

And lastly, It just occurred to me that the VF-25 look very close to Su-30MK fighter in real world

  3. It's been a long while since the first and only 'prototype' picture of the 1/48 VF-25 from Bandai. Anyone heard or saw anything? I've been waiting it for a long time. Hope they didn't already canned it.

  4. If this is not the right section, please move. Thanks!

I just got the VF-19 Master File and realized that the CGIs of VF-19F in the book are very different than Kawamori's orignial design.

The VF-19F in the book is having the VF-19A intake, nose and canopy. I guessed they are cutting cost in CGI department, but it's kind of cool and make more sense in real world.

By the could some one show me the translation of thisbook? I remember reading it somewhere.

    Many thanks!

  5. Looks really nice.

Just a small critique, I think when painting camo, you should paint in light coats rather than thick applications. Then smooth everything over with a clear satin or clear matte finish.

Thanks for the advice mate! I'm still learning how to do that. The masking tapes always left thick lines around them. I heard people would sand them before applying clear coat. Do you know what type/number of sand paper to do it?

Gerwalk and Battroid are on the way.

  6. Not my best piece of work. Yamato used tons of glue in this. Some parts simply can't be disassembled dispite screws have been removed.

I've seen many custom paints here based on Russsia or US fighters. I tried something different, it's based on Israel and Sout Africa fighters. ^_^
