Clip from SDCC
-
I can tell just from the thumbnail Starscream's an S-37. ::click:: Yup. Kind of an SD S-37, but definitely inspired by the S-37.
::edit:: With an Sv-51's v.stabs....
PS--can someone give me a direct link, or just post a pic, of Classics Octane? I just can't find anything online. Same request for Sideswipe.
PPS--sigh, I was hoping we'd actually get some new molds for the movie, not just repaints. I want a bigger, better Barricade, SS, and Blackout. And repainting Blackout as a Dauphin is just sad. Might as well repaint SS blue and white and say it's Air Force One. (They did use a Dauphin right? I really wasn't looking at the helis during the movie)
The drawing of Octane clearly has him transform into an A-10 Warthog. The photo? to the right looks more like an A400M if anything, not a C-130. (but it's not an A400M) So what DOES he turn into? Thanks much for the pics.
Isn't the idea with the Classics and Animated lines to have the TFs look as much like real world vehicles without having to pay royalties? I think that is why the alt forms are looking like hybrids. Unlike the Masterpiece line where I'm sure they have to pay royalties to the manufactures of the F-15 (Boeing?) and might explain why Classics Starscream actually looks like a F-15.

So does this mean that Shadow Chronicles actually made enough money for a sequel...?
-
does anyone know how much is alternators rodimus selling for at sdcc?
$24.99
-
As for the MP Skywarp: it looks good, but I remember seeing pics of his face ... horrible!!!
YES! Although he does have a swiveling head it is still squashed looking like Starscreams
-
Yeah, I'm expecting Takara to put out MP Starscream Animation after the US version has been released for a while, so... say March...
-
There were bootlegs of those released not long ago.
TFW2005.com has a pic of the back of Skywarp's box. There is a third seeker pictured on it which might be Thundercracker.
-
Gah, probably cost just as much to snag a Takara version if I can find one then. Off to Google I go.
***
Oh, right, it's sold out, everywhere. SDCC exclusive it is then. Meh.
It looks like it will see a mass release in Asia/Pacific kinda like Nemisis Prime did. BBTS.com has it up for preorder for $47.50.
I heard that although Binaltech was not doing well the Kiss Pla Hot Rodimus and Autolooper sold well. As well as MP-3 Starscream and MP-5 megatron, which last I heard was going to get a second production run. So I don't see why they wouldn't retain the Masterpiece line. MP-5 Megatron was a brave move by Takara Tomy in my opinion.

The hull is most likely not painted, so you can probably use some paint thinner to wipe it off or something.
Seems to be a test shot, as those ball joints on his hips are cast red plastic. On hand-painted prototypes they usually avoid painting the joint areas.
Yeah, I'm thinking thinner or isopropyl to take it off, I'm just worried that it might knock out the panel lining too. Could put the panel lining back in after I guess.
I hope they change the black joints to matching grey too though.
-
So the next question is weather that is black carbon gunk can be easily removed without removing it from the panel lining or weather it's a rendered prototype for display.
-
Another anime repaint of MP Starscream, nice this time tho even if he went a bit overboard with the carbon burning.
-
Is that Megatron that the government is holding?
Yes.
Do I know you from BitMe?

Sometimes even great people needs people to work for him. Do u kill to "aborb" power of every 100 guys that work for u loyally or will u leave some to assist u?
And it's true that we can overlook the oddities since the show is so nice.
e.g1 Why not peter just freeze time and simply kill Sylar in the last episode. Maybe fire looks cooler on his hands.
e.g2 Why not future hiro tells Peter there's guy who can neutralise others power so that Peter can "aborb" Haitian's power to become Truely invincible? Note: Haitian power of neutralizing is "on" 24hours a day.
Could that work for Peter given that his power to absorb would be nullified by the Haitian, kinda Catch-22. And maybe Sylar wouldn't be able to kill him as his powers would be neutralised and the Hatian is a pretty big guy, although he is sleeping at the moment in the 5 years future. Or maybe if Sylar absorbs the Haitian he will destroy his other powers.
So confusing.

I'm so glad I didn't buy into Classics.

1. That pic is Photoshopped with an airbrush tool. No Gundam marker was used.
2. If I remember correctly it is much wiser to use nail varnish to tighten ball joints. Might want to check with the toy customisers.
-
I'm thinkning it's a custom but it might be a 'con exclusive...
-
Did they ever ACTUALLY kill it? It makes sense to shelve it because of the movie line. Just like Alternators.
Last I heard is that like Alternators it is on Hiatus.
Given the imminent success of the movie and that in the Classics and Alternators line most of the major characters are accounted for it is unlikley we will see any more*. There were plans for Megatron to be released as an Alternator but they were shelved. Apparently the only way that Hasbro got Ravage and Rumble released was by making them Walmart exclusives in the USA.
*Except for F#@^ING convention exclusives where my money is on the Frenzy as a Rumble repaint and possibly Legion (From Kiss Pla) as a Decepticharge repaint

Some pics of Megs compared with my P-38
Many thanks

I think the fact that it is made out of low-grade plasitc and transforms into a robot would prove that. I imagine it is the fact that it can LOOK like a gun which will cause you the most trouble.
Yes. That is part of the problem but the reason why replica restrictions were tightened a few months ago is because the airsoft type guns were being backward engineered into actual firearms. Given that it is literally possible to obtain a realistic looking gun from a $2 Dollar Shop here means that the cops arn't as concerned with fake toy guns as with guns that can be modified. Well that's part of my reasoning anyway.
Does anyone have a pic of the mouth under MPC Convoy's faceplate? It sounds dumb, but I'd like to see it without mucking with mine.
The oinly wany to disassemble MP Prime's head is to remove the large pin in the side where his earpiece is - speaking from experience it takes alot of effort to do this. They are not meant to be teeth so much as a mesh/grill that he speaks through, or so I assume. Make up your own mind: blurry pic
-
BTW, is anyone interested in comparison shots of Megatron in gun mode next to a real Walther P-38? Or would the mods think that is too inappropriate for this thread? (or this board)
Melissa
Yes please.
My Megatron was seized by customs and I'm trying to get it back. Showing that the toy is oversized and thus would be difficult to modify into a gun capable of firing bullets would help alot.

Oh well, more money to use on Soundwave and Friends.
Here's a color pic of one of those US$35 friends

I'd like to see a MP version of Movie Unicron. Or with the Alternators and Binaltech lines wrapping up maybe 1/24 scale versions of G1 Ironhide and the obvious repaint Ratchet - cos we all remember what those looked like origionally...
With MP-03 selling well the inevidable repaints can't be too far away.

Alot faster to navigate without all the sponsor ads/animations etc tho.

So far F2F is the only place I know of taking orders at $78 + postage. HLJ.com don't yet list it. Walmart will retail it's version for $56 which represents a considerable saving if you dont mind the "weathering". BBTS is charging $90 + postage because they figure they can export it (the Walmart version) for that much to countries without Walmart.
Alternators Rodimus is being released in SEA so it might be easy to get a decently priced one on eBay in a few weeks.
I ordered from F2F a few days ago but am yet to get a response back.
