After watching ep 19, I have come up the following wild speculation about what had happened to the 117th Research Fleet : 1. The landscape in Ranka’s dream is very similar to the terrain on Galia 4. If her dream turns out to be true, then the 117th Research Fleet was successfully landed there to study Vajra found there. 2. The initial objective of the 117th Research Fleet may be the cure of V-type infection, which though to be originated from Vajra. 3. Because Ozuma is a friend of Ranka’s family, so they were residents of Macross Frontier. Grace is known from Macross Galaxy. This tells that 117th Research Fleet was the joint research project from both Macross. 4. LAI (own by Bilrer?) probably was the main sponsor of the research at Frontier side, because Frontier government did not want to mess with Vajra (probably the insistence from Howard Glass). But not every one in government agreed with Howard. Leoh probably is the leader of this group. Without the government support, Bilrer starts SMS to provide protection for the research team, and Ozuma jointed it. 5. The potentials of Vajra are so great, the research team was pressed to find everything they can. Ranse Mei was so busy working she left her children along. Feeling lonely, Ranka somehow befriended with Vajra (very similar to her relationship with Ai-kun later?). 6. There was infighting between Frontier and Galaxy about the goal of Vajra research. Frontier camp wants to make peace with them, but Galaxy camp wants to know every thing about Vajra at all cost. Sensing the danger, Frontier camp decided to abandon the research. 7. During the pull out from Galia 4, something went very wrong that triggered the attack from Vajra (sabotage by Grace? Vajra though Ranka was in danger being taking away?) Only Ranka was saved by Vajra because they though she is their friend.

I have been downloading Chinese sub since last night but it is still only 60% completed when I came to work this morning. English sub should be out soon so be patient.

Just finished watching Chinese sub: 1. Sheryl demands the answer from Grace why Ranka's song but not her has effect on Vajra. Grace replies that she is just an idol. Sheryl would still lives in slum shall Grace have not pick her up. 2. Sheryl responses that she can live by her own, but Grace reveals the answer that shocks Sheryl: she is dying because of an illness at time being picked up. And the illness is still not cured even though Grace bought her to hospital for treatment. 3. Luca propose Operation Cinderellas Horn to Leon. Leon accepts it but teases him that his motivation is to get self-esteem. Luca is upset about that. 4. Leoh and Howard are working to get approval from Senate for long-distance fold. That is big deal because the government will impose resource ration and suspend commerce for the preparation, which prompt store sell-out and shopping spree. Howard remind Leoh that the true mission objective of Frontier is he seek-out of frontier for new human habitat.. 5. The finding from Klan's friend about "Witch Craft 999" is that it is an antibiotic used to control (but not cure) a blood-transmitted infectious disease. The symptoms of the disease include dizziness, nausea, and vomit. That immediately rings a bell to Michael. 6. Grace told Sheryl to confirm by herself that she is dying, which leads Sheryl to Kan and Michael at library. 7. Ozuma tell alto that military plans to use Ranka as a shield during the long-distance fold and asks him to protect her. After alto left, Ozuma told Canalia that he senses the end of his duty to protect Ranka, and believe that will remember her memory in childhood very soon. 8. When Alto stops Yasoburo at taxi, he told Alto that he will take care Sheryl. He also said that Alto should come to Saotome's residence should he want to visit her. 9. The press conference about long-distance fold was cut short due to Vajra attack that is eariler than expected. Howard orders military to defend Frontier and escort Ranka to safety because Battle Frontier is not yet ready. 10. However military and SMS cannot hold on, in no time Ranka come to the rescue by singing on König Monster. Howard is furious because he fear she is out in danger. Leoh replies that Ranka went out by her own will. 11. Macross Quarter maneuvers the firing of its gun to herd Vajra to the killing zone of Battle Frontier Gun. All vehicles from Frontier are order to retreat to begin fold. Any thing I missed?

I think you are referring this sentence: ファイ夕ー時のツルエットはSu-27のような「鶴首」が雰囲気を出している It says: "Its profile at Fighter mode resembles 'crane head' of Su-27".

Some corrections:

I just came across this web site (http://www.veoh.com/) where someone has posted HD re-mastered version of DYRL. I know its source is from HD version because of its credit scene. The interesting thing about this video post is that it has English subtitle. More interesting thing is that its subtitle has the exactly the same mistakes as Hurin as pointed out from this post this post,a few years ago. It makes me wonder all DYRL video with English subtitle are using the work from Hurin? :blink: There are just 2 of many mistakes in English subtitle I notice: 1. Hikaru calls Roy Senpai, not Commanderor Major. 2. During the scene of fake dinner on the ruins of ancient alien city, Misa calls Hikaru Ichijō-kun, not Ichijō.

Hi Hurin: I am just curious, do you have the scripts in Japanese for the DYRL movie? I know a little bit of Japanese (though not fluent in it). I am interest in reading it.

Amazon JP and US still have them from 3rd party seller. But you may want to wait a bit since their asking price is egregious. How about standalone (HD re-master) version? I know all people recommending limited box set. I am probably the only one ordering standalone. But I think it is the one that we fans are craving for. Theatrical release and extra stuffs are nice but in my mind they don’t stand up to the re-master disk. Amazon JP has standalone version in stock and they offer discount. They only ships via Fedex Express though.
