  1. hey lynx u can get it online and not pay shipping just get the serial number.

Sure I can. Let me break it down for you.

49.99 + shipping for the serial key, a box, manual, the CD, a month online and (at most online sales) a bonus CD, T-shirt, etc. versus:

49.99 for the serial key and a month online.

Strikes me as kinda uneven trade.

If it is on sale here, I would be paying 49.99 + bus fare for the whole deal (well, probably missing the bonus stuff). That kinda strikes me as a bit more efficient. :)

I like the game.. but not so much as to pay 49.99 for a serial number.

  2. Lineage II is a game you really have to work at to gain the most out of it. The open Beta is not a good gauge because the high-level fun stuff simply was out-of-reach.

I was on Erica during the Open Beta. I'm not sure whether the game is on sale in my country, but I hope to pick it up this weekend.. I liked it enough to pay for it.

  3. Personally I rather not mix. Putty (Squadron White/ Green, Bondo, Tamiya, etc. etc.) are easily available and in principle you should use the appropriate material for the appropriate job.

'Sides, putty allows you to contour to fit the shape, which is better than sanding like crazy.

  4. Gotta KIV Japanese homes are pretty small. I like the details on 1/100, but the sheer size is prohibitive in shelf space.

1/144 are nice and compact, and new technologies means they are fairly tough. Not to mention they are affordable enough to literally have battalions of them running around.

EDIT: Bsu, sort of like that kit precisely because there's not much fan service. A bit expensive though. :)

  5. I've been playing on Bartz with a few friends. I've even managed to get my Dark Elf to level 20 and change professions to Assasin. Had a blast today, a bunch of losers from another server that was down came in and started harrasing our DE lowbies for a few hours. Every time I'd see one of the red-tagged PK'ers I'd knock them down with a single shot from my Bow of Forest.

Hehe. The bunch of losers were probably from Erica, my server, because it went down for maintenance last night (my time).

But I agree -- if they are lame enough to go in to PK newbies, then they deserved what they got.

I love the way Power Shot works in this case.. there was this one time when a PKer was chasing a newbie over a ridge and to the other side, out of LOS. I unlimbered my Short Bow, did a Power Shot over the ridge, and nailed the PKer without him even realising that he was being targetted. :)

    Talk about homing missile. :p

Talking about Bow of Forest, one joke that circulated around Erica briefly was when someone advertised a "Forest of Bow" for sale. :) The mental image of a forest full of bows was irresistable. :p

  6. I signed up for about 8 keys......still havent got any of em.

Maybe it's because you signed up for 8 keys...?

I signed for 1 and got it in about a week. Frankly, if you don't have it by now, there's not much point to it as the Open Beta is about halfway over.

TBH, I'm not sure whether this game is suitable for all gamers. It's fairly open and relies a lot on people taking the initiative to set up interesting situation in game. It merely provides the engine, some minor form of economy and a few quests to help newbies along... everything else AFAIK is player-driven.

  7. Hey, you guys still have time to post here? :) If it wasn't for Erica's (unscheduled) downtime last night, I'd never had seen this post. :p

I'm now a Lvl13 Human Fighter trying to go to Lvl12. :) The skills are really the high point of the XP system, that's really what I'm aiming for nowadays.

Got myself a set of bone armour the other day.. can't wait to get "real" armour. :) I need to upgrade my weapons soon though.. while I can tackle monsters of around my area, it takes too long and I take too much damage doing that.

Right now on weekdays I spend an hour or two just hanging around quest areas to help out. The xp gain is little, but the SP and money gains are quite nice.. I pulled in 4K~6K and about 500SP in that time.

More eye candy. This is leather armour; I've since upgraded but don't have a pic handy.

  8. By the way, the #11 is most seen in the G Gundam MG kits. Those are rare in UC kits since they don't usually have all ABS frame.

Hmm.. I just saw #11 pop up in my HG Gundam Seed Red Astray. It seems to refer to a situation when a particular sub-assembly is supposed to be rotated through an arc during or after incorporating in another assembly, and not as I previously stated.

  9. This does bring back memories. I liked the Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs but that toy needs to transform like it did in the cartoon!

I liked the show too.. the quality of animation was quite good for its time.

The Bismark/ Ramrod didn't have an overly complicated transformation sequence; I'm not sure but it may be possible to refit this toy to be transformable. :)

  10. Sorry, was busy whacking Werewolves in Lineage II when you posted.

    1. Roughly, place to put cement for purpose of gluing.

    2. Position to place dry transfer decal, with katakana markings.

    3. Position to place wet transfer decal, with alphabetical markings.

    4. Position to cut (for trimming purposes, most of the time)

    5. Number of subassemblies to replicate (i.e. small numorous subassemblies that are the same)

    6. Assemble subassemblies first (common)

    7. I don't see this very often, but I take it as this: opposite side has similar part, but different part numbers.

    8. Opposite side has identical parts, to be assembled in a similar fashion.

    9. Beware of direction (i.e. small differences in up/down or left/right)

    10. Assemble subassemblies last (not so common)

    11. Very rare.. I not too sure, but I think this means multiple parts are supposed to be placed around a subassembly and all parts are all identical.

    12. Please choose one to assemble here (i.e. placement with optional parts, like Zaku antenna)

    13. Please be careful when screwing. (Get your mind out of the gutter! :) )

    14. Opposite part is designed to move the same way.

This varies from kit to kit and can differ quite substantially. The Kanji after the number is a counter (specific to a particular type of item), and they are as follows:

First to third line's counter: sheet-type item

    4th line: generic

    Last line's counter:book-type item.

The first item seems to be the cardboard cover that comes with MG kits (you know, the one with the frontal shot of the MS. Quantity 1.

The second item seems to refer to a marking sheet, presumably dry transfer. Quantity 1.

The third item is refering to the decal sheet, quantity 1. (Presumbly wet transfer)

The 4th item is screws. 12 with 1 spare.

The last item seems to be "Mecha Bible" -- probably the instruction manual. Quantity 1.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Idea: Can the 20th OP's stock and silencer fit on this Megs?

EDIT: <blush> I don't read either. forget this.

it doesnt fit too well. the handle is too big and thick. so you need to put primes thumb inbetween megs legs to fit.

Uhm.. thumb between legs.. uhm. no comments. :p

  12. Resurrecting this thread..

Just got my key yesterday, have been playing since then. Obviously, a blast -- In less than a day I went from 0 to Lvl 9 Human Fighter. Could have been faster, but I went and bit off more than I can chew and died a few times.

This is my first MMORPG, so I can't really say whether it's good or bad. It's definitely gorgeous, even on my dated system.

The game, well, easy enough on the initial, but the XP penalties for dying and the hefty cost of equipment is really a major hurdle to my enjoyment.. My equipment doesn't match the level of opponents I'm supposed to be facing!

Other than that, I don't really feel much RPG'ing here.. just a slower FPS, seems to be. There should be more infrastructure for player interactions. One interesting idea I had was the creation of a registered quest, where players will register quests to be completed, rather than waiting for NPCs to complete it.

I guess the really major player interactions will come in only when Clan vs. Clan battles are fought.

An interesting devlelopment came towards the end of my session. I was tired and didn't want to go solo so I went to the Obelisk of Victory, where I knew a more experienced player was acting as the role of a fire brigade. I paired up with this player to act as a bacon-puller, someone who steps in when a PC bites off more than he can chew and take care of his opponents.

We were so good at it, the Obelisk was very crowded at the end... Many PCs sought it as a safe haven. When they bite off more than they can chew and a train forms, it is inevitable that the PC will lead the train back to the Obelisk, where we all waited to chop the critters up. :)

Anyway, a bit of eye candy for you folks. :)

  13. Thanks man. Appreciated.

Hmm.. still looks a bit skinny, but much better than the 1A head. I've got a K&M box coming from HLJ (along with 2 -- count'em! 1/60 GBP), if I get enough spares I'll probably rig mine up that way too.

And my 1/60 Roy Strike would be in GBP, of course. :)

  14. As with a good number of people here, I also don't feel the need for a Live-Action WHR.

But, I'm not willing to write off the possibility that a Live-Action WHR would be actually good.. the anime had elements that IMO would sit well within a well directed series. Suspense, Occult, Action, Intrigue.. the possibility is there.

If the budget only allows for either Live-Action or Season 2, I would go for Season 2 in a heartbeat. Otherwise, I think the Live-Action folks should be given the opportunity to experiment.

Of course, if they screw up, I'll personally deep-six the tapes, with the cast and crew to accompany the tapes! :)
