  1. I know, I know... but I keep my collection reasonable by restricting it to transforming bikes (and Shinji Aramaki designs). The hard suits have been on the "appreciate but don't by unless they come with a bike"... until now. I was the one who had brought up the mud guard before. I know it isn't there on the MOSPEADA book art, but I wish it was. I've pre-ordered two of each bike, and will probably 3d print a mudguard for 1 of each. As for BBTS, I haven't ordered from them since the last big MOSPEADA rush a decade ago, but have my Sentinel preorders in with them currently. They treated me well in the past.
  2. I thought mine was fine, but just checked the boxes out of curiosity (only keep bikes/ride armors/moto-slaves/etc. on display). Found two blue Alphas. I had forgotten that my first one (bought new) had a broken arm, and then I got a used one to keep one in each mode).
  3. "Friend"? Friend? What kind of a friend would so thoroughly convince me that I now have to go out and buy the Atelier Sai figures, too???? Thank you so much for posting these pics. They look gorgeous! Now i'm REALLY looking forward to assembling both sets of bikes and figures! So, it looks like I'll use the Aoshima figures for when I want the hardsuit inside of the moto-slave, but I'll need to pick up some Atelier Sai figures for the "on the bike" and "standing imposingly next to the bike" display. I am seriously kicking myself for all those times I saw the Atelier Sai figures for sale for reasonable prices and used my self control to say "Don't buy it. It doesn't have a moto-slave." It looks like they've become quite hard to find in the intervening years. BTW, on a bit of a tangent, how did you take these pics? What do you use for a base and backdrop? I really like the metallic background and surface you're using. * edited to try to make sure I was kidding around at the beginning *
  4. BBTS preorder is up.
  5. I just skimmed through Arcadia's twitter (hadn't looked at it before tonight), and it looks like they said that they'd do a Proto Garland if this one sells well enough. They also showed samples in the blister pack for this Garland, so it looks like things were VERY finalized when they decided to pull things until March.
  6. Sorry, just saw this on twitter too, from "kabuto_siren" replying to Arcadia: "But wait for the development of prototype or EX is hope. We also sell perishable Yamato 1 / 15 Garland of old attached images (from breaking in an enhanced) replacement parts! Thank you m(_ _)m " Followed by an image of what look to be replacement parts for the Yamato Garland shoulder joint. So, Proto Garland and Garland E=X are hopefully not affected... or maybe this is a bad translation and someone is asking Arcadia about this? The latter seems like it might be more likely, since I don't recall Arcadia even showing a prototype of an E=X, though they've shown a Hargun.
  7. The 1st upside: In addition to the usual Google translate, Twitter now has a built in translator, which translated it as: "Notice: your dear, this month December to be launched was "1/24 Diecast model Garland", and for improving the quality of the product in very sorry us to extend to the "3/2018" release now. That announcement was the verge of truly sorry." The 2nd upside: Hopefully this means we'll get a quality toy (I'm looking at you, Evolution Toys...). Still, Action Toys did a similar delay for Bike Robo not too long ago, and the final product was still just kind of ok. The 1st downside: I had my two ride armor Aoshima model kits sitting in the warehouse, waiting to ship along with this. Now I guess I'll be stuck paying for the two orders to ship separately. The 2nd downside: Does this mean there will be higher costs on Arcadia's end than they might have anticipated, which might be detrimental to getting more MZ23 mecha down the road? Either way, this is pretty disappointing. This was going to be a bit of a Christmas present to myself (translation: don't tell the girlfriend how much I'm spending on this).
  8. Judging by the (apparent) thickness of the broken components, I'm wondering if the material was changed to a weaker or more brittle plastic after the designers had designed and toleranced the connections, where they assumed a different plastic.
  9. Exactly. The current gf, while having no interest in my collection (she's more of a gym rat), said, after hearing the story when she asked why that one big robot was broken, "I think that stuff is cool, and don't worry, none of them are going to ACCIDENTALLY break after an argument."
  10. My Toynami Beta broke (small fall off a table onto a chair, or so the then-gf claimed; can't REALLY blame quality of the toy for that one, though toys like a transformer would have definitely survived it). My two Alphas had no issues with them, but they were only transformed 2 or 3 times, put on display, then transformed back to fighter mode and put back in the box and in storage. Due to space constraints, only the ride armors and other bikes stay out.
  11. I'm actuallt getting surprisinly excited for the Arcadia release as time goes by. Still no word on an exact date that I know of. Definitely want to see a lot of different versions of the Garland and different other related mecha.
  12. The different online stores are still listing those dates, so no changes so far. (Nice to see someone else on here in my general neck of the woods)
  13. We've got Sentinel to look forward to.
  14. You pretty much ALWAYS file a motion for summary judgment, regardless of the strength of your case. Plus, they're probably trying to preserve their rights for potential bases for appeal later.
  15. The motoslaves are all 1/15 Yamato ones. They're actually really nice, in my opinion, with a fun transformation and stand up as a toy and not just a showpiece. The green and blue ones look kind of big, but they're exactly the same as the pink and red ones, just transformed and attached to their stands (optional, since they can stand on their own), so they're about an inch up in the air.
  16. I will defer to you on this, sir, as: a) I haven't assembled my Aoshima/Imai ride armors or my Aoshima motoslaves yet; and b) I was mainly basing my statement on a picture that you posted a little while back (attached below), so you will definitely know better than I. I actually prefer to display my figures/bikes based on figure scale, and not bike scale, since for some reason I'm more comfortable with bikes varying (and the Garland being a different size, apparently, scene-to-scene; even my own motorcycles in my garage are fairly different sizes). So, my 1/18 Mospeada figures stand alongside my 1/15 BGC figures and 1/15 MZ23 figures (though, admittedly, a hardsuit should add more size to a BGC figure than even a 1/18 scale would account for here).
  17. Were those non-transforming? I didn't know they came with mini-figures. Could you post some pics?
  18. Thank you for posting these. I ordered one of each, but mine are still at HLJ, waiting to get bundled with the Arcadia Garland. Honestly, while I own all of that artwork already, anything vaguely "new" is a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a 100% identical reissue to the Imai ones. My only disappointment (and it's minor, and no surprise, since I knew it beforehand from the Imai and Aoshima models I got on eBay) is that the Aoshima 1/12 ride armor isn't the same size as the Aoshima 1/12 motoslave.
  19. My first reaction (and what another poster had suggested, I think in a different thread) was that these are incentives from the crowdfunding campaign for the new Megazone series, and you're basically just paying those crowdfunding upper-tier funder amounts (where, even in the crowdfunding campaign, the Arcadia guys were apologizing for the high prices, due to low volumes)... but, seeing that the numbers of funders for those tiers don't seem to add up to enough for these ones, I don't know... Also, AmiAmi seems to be the only one offering them. Maybe Arcadia went ahead and made a batch, assuming that it would get funded, and then AmiAmi negotiated to buy them off of them, assuming they could sell at these prices due to the collectability?
  20. For anyone interested, I got an email today that the new Aoshima ride armor models (a new run of their old ones, which I think were a re-run of the Imai models) are in at HLJ (and, for anyone who didn't preorder, they're listed as backordered now).
  21. Gorgeous pic! Nice work! I actually am still filling out my CM's ride armor collection, and just picked up the regular green Ley over the weekend (previously only had the three black ride armors and the Jonathan and solider pack). Really reminded me what great little figures those are, with a really decent transformation. More fiddly than Megahouse, sure, but way better in my opinion.
  22. https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2017/09/08/arcadia-talks-about-how-it-makes-the-best-macross-and-megazone-23-toys-out-there/#2d7d8b78e974 “The other big intention with this new Garland toy was for it to be the start of a series of Megazone 23 related toys. This meant collectability would need to be a big part of its overall design. The smaller size is also part of this, as it makes collecting more attractive as it is less bulky.” It really seems that this new line of Megazone 23 toys could be quite comprehensive, as Kanke explains. “To give you an idea of what we are planning, we also want to do the Hargun and its transporter from the first Megazone 23. We also already have a prototype for the Proto Garland toy from Megazone 23 Part II. When it comes to doing toys from Megazone 23 Part III, there maybe one or more but we shall have to see how this first Garland toy does. I hope that if everything goes well we can also do the mecha from Megazone 23 Part III. “So if this series of Megazone 23 toys continues to sell, then we might even look into making the Original Garland as shown in Megazone 23 Part III but that really depends on how the earlier toys do. “Currently, we are only looking up to the Hargun in terms of the engineering and design planning. That means we are trying to realize the toy as it is set out in the original anime. In that, the Hargun comes in two parts; the bike and the legs that combine with it. So this is why we are doing the transporter, as that's where the leg parts are stored.”
  23. I don't have any of the Aoshima Megazone kits, though I do have some of the MOSPEADA and BGC ones. The Megazone ones just didn't look like they'd scale with anything else that I own. Well, I went and pulled the trigger on the new Arcadia Garland (the regular one; not the $600 blue and white one, or the $250 strike parts). I'm hoping that this does lead to a full line. I've tried to keep things where they make nice sets. My Yamato Garlands (a Factory Color one and two Proto Garlands, since Yamato sent me a whole new one when the shoulder went on my first one) scale nicely with the Yamato MotoSlaves and the CMs ride armors. Here's hoping that Arcadia keeps the line going...
