So much envy...

Thanks. I'd never heard of them, but it looks like they have a lot of other MOSPEADA stuff, too.

Where's the little tiny one on the left from?

Let's never ever forget: they look really nice next to the Yamato motoslaves and Garlands!

Good stuff right there. A lot of us criticized these figures when they were first released (and legitimately so), but, as times goes by and I slowly fill in my collection (recently got the metallic Yellow), I appreciate them more and more.

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
RavenHawk replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's made by Kotobukiya, part of their "Gigantic Arms" series. This one is called "Armed Breaker". They're definitely toys, and pretty solid, but they come as snap-fit model kits that you assemble yourself. Some transform 100%, some are a bit parts-former-y (then again, so it the Hargun, arguably), but the two that I have (both motorcycles) are pretty fun. They have a lot of designs that, honestly, do nothing for me, but a few really cool ones, like this.- 818 replies

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
RavenHawk replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So, this is really BARELY related to MZ 23, but the mailman just delivered this item, and I'm actually really excited to put it together... and just wanted to share that new toy excitement. How is this related to MZ 23? Well, with the truck with trailer combining with the motorcycle, and with the likely slow (but completely understandable) timeline from Arcadia, this is going to be my Hargun stand-in for the foreseeable future.- 818 replies

Looks like you're missing the Dark Stig, Dark Ley, and metallics... (That's me hiding my envy and jealousy... the unarmored figures are on my wish list, as is Houquet, sadly... Very nice collection)

I have no doubt you're absolutely right. If only those CMs (non-armored) character figures had movable legs...- 818 replies

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
RavenHawk replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Glad it worked out. One of these days, I'm going to be brave enough to try to jam in one of my CMs MOSPEADA riding suit figures (that probably sounds really bad, out of context).- 818 replies

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018

Yes, mine is. No issues with it at all. Just the same steps (i.e. adjusting the legs when he's seated) as with my metallic Garland. I can take a pic if you want, though I don't have one handy.- 818 replies

It actually looks to me (from following the transformation pics) like it will be pretty close to the right position... but yeah, it will need to be looked into. Might need at least a small range of motion.

Yeah, I ordered 2 of each because my plan is to have some fun, keeping one of each stock and one of each modded. I'll probably end up 3d printing the rocket launcher from the art, a rear mudguard for symmetry on the two tires, a clear visor, and one with the lines/marks/HUD only on the inside of the visor. Might do some alternate footpegs with shifter/brake, depending on how the toy looks once I actually get it in hand. This is the fun part. Taking what looks to be a fantastic toy, and making it fit your own personal tastes.

I agree with you that it's tilted, but not by much. Maybe in the neighborhood of 3 degrees? Not perfect, but hey, I'm ok with it, especially considering that they seem to be trying to be as true as possible to the MOSPEADA book redesigns. Now, will we get a Yellow like from the Animation Bikes book? (I'm actually fine without it, especially since it is a very different design aesthetic from the Sentinel bikes and I don't think it was illustrated by Aramaki, though I can't read the Japanese on the inside cover to be sure; just kind of a fun thought)

I like it. From what I can see, I like it a lot, especially how the tank folds over the rider, front to back. While it might be a pain to do, it looks like you MIGHT even be able to transform the bike while the rider remains seated the whole time (if shuffling forward during the transformation).

Not that I care much, since the boxes go in storage while the toy is going to be what's on display... but the box art looks a little uninspired. Maybe I'm spoiled by the recent reissues with some of the gorgeous 80s art.

Yeah, between Sentinel and Arcadia, I'm just using the time to fill in gaps in my collections while I wait. Picked up the metallic edition Yamato Garland a few weeks ago, and just got the metalic/translucent CMs Yellow this week.

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018

Just posted on Facebook: So, the new factory sample is on display at the store... but it sounds like we're still a ways off. Does this also mean that the figure cannot fit in robot mode, but only the top half of the body?- 818 replies

I have two on preorder. I'll probably leave one exactly as is on the cover illustration, and 3D print some upgrades to the other for personal tastes (a rear mudguard, which would make the armor mode actually look symmetrical with covers over both tires; foot shifter and foot brake, which would work for posing, though would be a terrible idea in real life; the rocket launcher from the cover illustration; whatever else comes to mind).

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
RavenHawk replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, we seem to have similar tastes, but not identical. That's just how it is with these types of things: each of us have some things resonate with us more than others. Not to belabor the point, but it really doesn't make sense to me how much merchandise there seems to be for MZ23, and how little for any iteration of BGC (like only Atelier Sai having made the Scoop Chase hardsuits; luckily, I think that Yamato really did an impressive job on their toys).- 818 replies

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
RavenHawk replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If you can find a decent price on it, I think it's definitely worth it. I usually see them on auction sites in the US anywhere from $300-600. In my case, I was on the lookout to try to fill out my Yamato Garland collection, and everything else was just a bonus. Ended up finding it on eBay from the UK in "used" condition (i.e. the box was a little banged up, but everything inside looked like it had never even been opened). At under $100, even after shipping to the US, it was an absolute no brainer for me and I'm super happy with the purchase. Seeing how gorgeous the book is was a thrill.- 818 replies

I knew the Sentinel version was based on Aramaki's design from the MOSPEADA book (I own that book and absolutely love it), but I'm embarrassed to say that I totally missed the folded up footpeg on the thigh armor on the cover. Wow, I can't believe I missed that... Good catch! If they match Aramaki's design, then I'm totally ok with the footpeg placement (even if the motorcyclist in me isn't). I've been wanting a toy of this design since I first preordered the book in late 2008.
