  1. I guess my problem is that I can't stand the Yamatos. Every single one that I have has been a disappointment other than maybe the 1/48 low viz. I don't have any of the new 1/60's though. The first 1/60s were so bad and floppy that I refuse to buy another.

I guess I'm just a fool for a durable toy that doesn't take a manual to transform. One that I can give to a 8-10 year old and they don't need me to transform it for them. Yamato has never made that. They do look better and have more poses but that just isn't enough for me to part with my cash anymore.

  2. Thanks for the tips. I might try working this out when I have some more spare time. First I think I'll try just taking the MKV files with subs that I have, burning them to a BD25 or DVD and trying them in a regular bluray player. if that works I'll just stop there. If not then I'll try ripping the full bluray and replacing one of the current subs with an english sub or just add an english sub if its possible. I've been reading on it and some say it can be done some say it can't with blurays.

  3. Getting a bit confused here. IS this the hybrid game that came with the Macross Frontier movie blurays or is this a different demo? Is it available for download in japanese playstation store.

Also if this is using the same engine as Gundam Extreme vs. the melee would be awesome. Extreme vs. for the PS3 is geared more towards melee than beam attacks. I've almost "S" ranked all of that game. Just have a handful of newtype and extra missions left.

  4. Yup, and then you're smacked down by the harsh reality of Newtype level trials, & trying to play against japanese pro's online :)

They're good but not impossible to beat. I'm sitting at 5wins out of 11 matches. The game isn't that difficult if you master one or two suits. I just wish strike noir was in the game. I'm best with that one in the arcades (course its not usually allowed in tourneys).

I've already beat trial mode and have two of the 3 mission modes complete.

  5. - Picked up a second PS3 for black friday since I feared my original 60gb unit might conk out.

    - Any of you guys picking up Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme versus? Just ordered it today. I love the arcade version.

Also any of you guys part of the MAAN clan? I am and was just curious?

  6. The primary reason for purchasing should definately be to watch Itsuwari no Utahime, awesome movie, but no subtitles. Trial Frontier is nothing more than a quick (but beautiful) demo of what MUF/MTF would look like on the PS3. The only selectable mecha are VF-25 varients, a Quadran Rhea, & Large Vadjra. There are only 4-5 missions (plus hard versions of the same missions) which are all space/sky based missions. So if you're purchasing it just for the game factor, you'd probably want to wait to see if they make a complete version at some point. If you're interested in the movie, then the demo is an awesome extra.

Thanks Keith. I've already DL'd the BD of the movie so I guess its a bit of a waste getting it again without subs.

  7. If they do DLC, hopefully it'll be the same way they did for ACE-R, just a quicker way to unlock something. Since full DLC would bone U.S. PSN accounts. As for how many hi-res models, the simple answer is "all of them." The VF-25 was beautiful in that demo, and every other valkyrie (except for the Metal Siren) will be equally beautiful. Dude, the wing lights!

    Can anyone answer these questions:?

    1. Is this a port of MUF or MUT or something new?

    2. How many missions are there?

    3. Is it worth it? How much time did you spend passing all the missions?

    Thanks.

  8. I am using 5.00 M33 which is the unlocked version by Dark Alex and a modded set of files I got on a torrent site to allow me to to use it despite it wanting to update. I added these to my ISO build of the disk. No need to update and I can still use my home brew and all my games fit on my 16gig memcard so more game time and no UMD's to loose while I'm out and about.

That's what I tried first and there was no Joy. I just got it working using an xgen 5.5 d3 cfw. No mod needed to the caravan release iso. have an 8gb card that I fit with Macross UF, Gundam v Gundam Next plus, Migical Lyrical Nonoha, Hastune Miku Proj Diva 2, K-on, and Clank and ratched. should be enough to keep me occupied for a while.

  9. You know who needs some Figma love? K-on.

The Aoshima poseable figures are atrocious....really not appealing...

Or...do the characters look like cardboard cutouts?

    Pete

K on! figures fall under the mobip line...they are just like the figmas and also made by Max Factory/Goodsmile
