The Ultimate Macross Variable Fighter!
VF-7000 THUNDERHAWK replied to VF-7000 THUNDERHAWK's topic in Movies and TV Series
Forgive me I'm pretty new to this forum. Believe me I looked at the other Topic forums and none of them seem to fit where this topic was suppose to go with the exception of Off Topic. If there is a another Topic forum for my topic then the moderators will move it to the appropiate Topic forum. Until then it will remain here. -
The Ultimate Macross Variable Fighter!
VF-7000 THUNDERHAWK replied to VF-7000 THUNDERHAWK's topic in Movies and TV Series
From my understanding the VF-171 is a squadron of VF-17 Nightmares in Macross Frontiers, but I could be wrong. Macross II, VF-2SS an the VF-MS in my opinion are not part of the Macross universe and are part of a separate time line. As for the VF-3000 from my understanding it is a more advanced VF-1. As I've stated, The reason I didn't put the VF-25 on this topic is because its a really new VF mecha. Theres hardly any pics, no history or specs on the VF-25. I like to know what other VF combat systems I'm missing? I know of all of the VF mecha in Macross, if theres is more I sure like to know about them. As for the YF-19 Alpha one and the YF-21 Omega one. The reason why I didn't put them in the poll was because, these two VF's were merely prototypes for the VF-19 and VF-22, they never saw military service with exception of taking out Sharon Apple and the X-9 Ghost on earth in Macross Plus. Just to let you know the YF-21 BDI/BCS system was a total failure and would've not worked well in active military service. The VF-22 became a novelty Special Operations Fighter just like the VF-17 was. -

The Ultimate Macross Variable Fighter!

The VF-14 Vampire is a fine VF mecha and in my opinion a direct successor to the VF-4 Lightning III. From the looks of the VF-14 and in the hands of Veteran Combat VF pilot it could be put into good use and hold its own in combat. I'm sure that it has a big weapons load for a fighter its size. Plus the VF-14 looks similiar to the SR-71 Blackbird. The VF-9 Cutlass is one sleek and fast VF mecha and in my opinion the predecessor to the VF-19 Excalibur. With its small silhoutte it would be a hard Fighter to shoot down. Plus the VF-9 looks like the X-29 FSW Demostrator. -

With the exception of the BDI system and the cockpit canopy on the YF-21 Omega One it is not much different then the VF-22 Sturmvogel II. The VF-1 Valkerie will always be the classic VF. -
Thank you for informing me about this company selling bootlegs. I don't want to break the law and I don't want to disrespect the people who have have worked hard on making Macross Zero and Macross 7 saga.

I know this has been done before, but since I'm Cannon fodder to this Forum. I'm curious to know what are your favorite VF mecha or what is the Ultmate VF mecha in Macross history. I personally like all the VF mecha in Macross. Several of the VF mecha are my favorites. The VF-1 Valkerie which started it all is my idea of the Ultimate F-14 Tomcat. The VF-1 has all the Air to Air capiblities like the F-14, but its a 10 times fold over a F-14 any time. Then theres the VF-11 Thunderbolt III which is my idea of the Ultimate F-15 Eagle ( mainly the F-15 S/MTD), It haves all the killing instincts of the F-15 and is a big advancement over he VF-1 when it comes to VF combat capabilities, plus it is one sleek and agile bird. The Next one would be the VF-17 Nightmare, the first true Stealth VF mecha, do I have to say anymore (F-117 Nighthawk). Then there is the VF-5000 StarMirage a direct successor to the VF-1 and VF-11. This VF is sleek, agile and one mean looking VF mecha. In my opinion the Ultimate VF mecha would be the VF-22 Sturmvogel II, Second generation Stealth VF mecha. It is my idea of the Ultimate F-22 Raptor, But Stealthier, Faster and more Heavily armed. It is the most agile and mean looking VF mecha in Macross history. Its has all the combat capabilities of all the VF mecha ever built, but with all the up to date Advanced VF technology built into its Airframe. This would be my ride if I was going into combat. Note: Sorry to not add the VF-25 onto this topic. This VF is pretty new, there is not to many pics and there is not a run down on the history of the VF-25 nor its specs! Don't get me wrong the VF-25 is a cool looking VF to join Macross.

Short and sweet, Thanks for clearing up the legal issues that were mentioned on this topic. Nothing more needs to be said on the legal aspects of Macross Zero and Macross 7.
-
Thanks, The Animation DVD website helps alot. Looks like I'm able to still afford to buy Macross 7. The limited edition box set with the extra features is to expensive and there prices on regular Macross box sets are reasonable.

Thanks for you support on this topic!

Thanks for your comments everyone. The only gripe I have is ADV released the Japanese Super Dimensional Fortress Macross version to the U.S. and just recently the English Dub version to the U.S. as well. From What I understand the English Dub version of the Macross TV series has never been released before until now. An doesn't Bandai and Big West own the rights to Super Dimensional Fortress Macross as well. I like to know what legal problems that ADV Films would encounter that would prevent them from being able to release Macross Zero and the Macross 7 saga to the USA.

Thanks for answering the question from my last post. Yes, I'm aware of Macross Frontier and I have seen Episode-1. I've seen the VF-17 Nightmares in the episode and I just didn't realize the VF-171's was a squadron of VF=17's. I Agree with you there! The VF-11's are one of the most versatile Variable Fighters in Macross history. In the hands of a Veteran combat pilot it still can be a deadly weapon to encounter. I never get tired of seeing all VF-11 versions as well (A thru MAXL)

ADV Films has released a English Dub version Remastered DVD box set of the Macross TV Series. I was wondering if they are going to release DVD box sets of English Dub versions Macross Zero and Macross 7 TV series and OVA movie. In my opinion they should be the logical company to release Macross Zero and Macross 7 to the USA, since they released the English version of Macross to the USA. All comments are welcome on this topic.

Macross Plus Remaster Box /Macross 7 TV/OVA
VF-7000 THUNDERHAWK replied to jet660's topic in Movies and TV Series
Where can you buy the Remaster Box sets of Macross Plus, Macross 7 TV series and OVA movie. In US currency how much are the box sets? -
I like the VF-1's, I just wish other Macross Variable Fighting mecha were being made. I would like to see the VF-11, VF-5000 and eventually the VF-25 made. Since these VF's are direct successors to the VF-1's. I would like to see also other Variable Fighters made like the VF-4, VF-9, VF-17, VA-3 and the VB-6. Then I never get tired of the VF-19's and VF-22's.

That looks so cool seeing the VX-9 paint and squadon markings on the VF-1 and VF-19. Nice work!

I'm not a big fan of the Mi-24 Hind, but this is one the best detailed models of a military helicopter that I have ever seen. A job well done to the person who created it.

I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the Garage Resin Kit company Studio Half Eye makers of Macross Variable resin model kits. I'm wondering what happened to them? In my opinion they made the best Macross Variable Resin VF Mecha models on the market. Those models looked as realistic as the VF mecha that are seen on Macross Plus, Macross 7 and the Macross VF-X/X2 games. Even though they are fully functional models and not toys the design quality and the way they are built are alot better then the Variable mecha toys designed by Yamato. I know they were one of the few companies that produced the VA-3 Invader and the VF-5000 StarMirage. But out of all of the models that they produced my favorites are the VF-11 Thunderbolt, VF-22 Sturmvoge II and the VF-5000 StarMirage. All comments and gripes on this topic are welcome!!!

Whats a VF-171 ?
-
Maybe or maybe not, but it would be cool to see Hasegawa produce and sell all the different Variable Fighting mecha in the Macross Franchise. Some of us have are favorite VF mecha and others like me who like all the VF mechas would like to have a model of each one of the VF mechas in there collection.
-
If it came down to it and all the VF mecha could not be modelled, I would like them to produce the VF-11 Thunderbolt III, VF-17 Nightmare and the VF-5000 StarMirage. The VF-1 Valkerie, VF-11 Thunderbolt and the VF-5000 StarMirage are my top three favorite VF mecha, they have alot resemblence to each other. But the ultimate VF mecha is the VF-22 Sturmvogel II, but sadly Hasegawa doesn't make it anymore.
