  1. Very nice work on the Rau i like it very much indeed.

WIsh i had some progress shots of the VF-X-4.. but alas ive hit some snags in it and its being a pain to mess with. however i do expect some updates with it..

    gawd im slow.. >_<

My Dear Friend, that's why I passed it on to you. IT DROVE ME CRAZY.

  2. I can cope with that. I've got a new GeForce 6600, not really worried about polygon counts at this stage. Besides, the Queadluun Rau is a beautiful mecha, it would be a shame to poorly represent it.

If you could send it to me though Chthonic, I'd like to see the mesh and see where all those polys went into.

Also, remember, the more polys you've got, the less need for shading in the texture, at least I would not imagine on this model...

Can we get a larger screen capture?

  3. Who is for a little Rau with it's close-rang-Jiba-jaba-somthing-bla-bla-missile-pods.

The rau is coming along nice, Cgthonic and myself helped bring this little picture for all you DYRL groupies!

Looking sweet. How's the poly count coming along?

    cough cough

    1400 3ds format

  4. Hehe...what we need is just a guy who lays out the uvwunraps for us... lol... all my time I waste on that frustrating stuff...

Goddamn, if anyone knew the actual time involved in the macross model... I must have spent a good 60 hours working on it so far. That should give some of you anxious fans some idea of the amount of effort that goes into the most detailed of our models.

Normally, we use 1-2000 polygon models for most ships, but the Macross is (or will be with the ARMDs) up in the range of 10,000 polygons. That's a lot of faces to texture.

Preach On brother....I'm developing eye strain working on some of these models

  5. God i am soooo glad to see this hasnt died in my long and unfortunate absence.. Real life got in the way and i was forced a prolonged absence.

However i am back now.. and i hope the rest of the mod team is not too pissed at me..

    <_<

Fokker.. lestat, if you need to get in contact me.. and i would like an update.. my new Aim is MyleneSTF

I appologize again for vanishing like that.. but im glad to see you kept it togeather

Nope....nah ah, no forgiveness- just kidding- glad to see you back-

  6. isnt there like a defense field frigate in the game, if you need to put something in for that on the UNSPACY side you can probably put in the ships from macross 2, basicly they project a hologram of minmay singing and brodcast one of her songs, distracting the enemy obviously.... i could get some screen shots if you need

Uh, why not use it to do a barrier system? Macross definitely has a direct counterpart to the Homeworld-series' Defense Frigate. But that's discussion for later (or, more appropriately, for the mod forums themselves.)

I don't work in maya. I work in 3dsmax. And those of us that do I believe are hardly up to the skill level required to aid you. Sorry.

I find that comment offensive. It's not a question of skill, it's a question of having the time.

(My work relates to realtime graphics development, including modeling & texturing with Maya and Photoshop. This is also what delays me further from working on MDRYL:SWO - I have Maya and everything set up with all configs I need for work, whereas HW2-minded work needs other configs and conventions.)

I agree CMDR- I find that offensive- I use MAX to make my models- I don't have some of the skills that others may have but I keep punching away at it. So don't try to belittle anyone who you think is not up to your skill level or above.

  7. Yeah, insignificant me is still around. Though all I do is make the ships pretty enough to hopefully impress Kawamori to the point of getting them into canon.

I took a stab at the 'canonical' asteroid miners today. One looks like a big barrel miner thing with legs... nothing special there. The other one looks like a kind of deformed TV Zentreadi pod.. I sketched something and called it a 'prospect pod' that would only survey and not mine. Figures, since Plus takes place after SW1 and would use leftover technology.

Don't keep me in suspense man....Any pics?

  8. Reguarding the Macross game, I really think that it could be done on a Star Wars: Battlefront II or Battlefield 2 scope. Limited battlegrounds, great playability and graphics.

AND, how about this---- release the game for PC in japan! that way we could import it. That should effectivaly kill the copyright issue.

Klumpy is dat you - WOW!!!

  9. I've been keeping up with this for some time now and it's apparent people can't understand other people's work. I believe it's a touch of jeously. I know WJ from the OLD days and I know him personally because he lives around the corner from me. He always cool to confrm info regarding any Macross mechincal related info. It's a shame that instead of asking for sources someone has to berate him. Dude chill and find your own DAMN work, because you don't want to work for it.
  10. Okay ...... This is about to become Stupid-

I like Macross Images just like anyone else- But on a side-note - it's like this - Dude, it someone spends their time and artistic talent to upload, create or develope something- then by all means - respect their wishes when they say they don't want it copied or uploaded- the cool thing to do is buy the Friggin book- make a copy of the image- scan, color it- make paper airplanes- then you have what you want and everyone is happy
