I don't see anything wrong with it. Maybe it's not EXACTLY to the lineart, I dunno, but if it's just a hair off, I don't see a need to nitpick it. Looks great to me.

Let me guess....they plan to hactually have the boat leave port?
At one point, I was interested in those battlepods, but as they've stretched these out way too long, and the fact that they couldn't make the parts swappable, I just don't have much interest in the design. The materials it's made out of is fine, but I find it odd that they (HG) overhyped these so much, that you almost can't help but feel a little disappointed. To add, why is it that "patience is the best thing?" I thought honesty would be a little more virtuous, but I guess they don't have much of that, or any, as these boats don't take 3 months to come over here.

Or they'll say it was Macek's doing
At this point, almost anything that sounds that ridiculously stupid, to make Robotech more than it is, is probably something that the few of the morons would suggest. Not only that, but those same numbers still believe that the light artillery pods are still on hold on a boat somewhere. At least they provide good comedy at their own expense.

Got mine too...whats the scoop on the Inbit?
It should be out on set 4, if the sets get that far. Interest for set two is up now, so that and a couple after, it'll be there. I was meaning to take pics of my painted figure, but I'll probably do it tomorrow.

Let me break my Caps Lock key...
Honestly? It's just a sound bite...If those kids are actually screaming like school girls...I would recommend they see a mental health professional.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the stranger RT fans think that Futurama's t.v. ratings and success will be due to their use of the song in a background? Then we'll hear how cutting edge Futurama is for using Row boat tech stuff. I don't doubt this kind of thinking from the weirdos out there.

preorder is closed.
WOW!!!
That was fast. Got a total of 5 on preorder. By any chance, will these come with any photo-etched parts?

Put me down for 2 sets.
Got you down. Thanks

Was it just implied that Kawamori got his ideas from Southern Cross? Wait....HAHAHAHAHAAAAA. If not, carry on.

Status Update
No more off-white hinges.
No more bright-white hinges.
Still quite a lot of cream hinges.
Graham
Got some off-white hinges for my broken Yamato Valks. Thanks Graham. Very much appreciated.

So..., no mention of a 2011 MW Convention?
Last I heard there was a place and day that was good, but that was it. I had a few customs to show as well. I guess if anyone wanted to do one, All that's needed is pretty much the space, and places to put up people's display pieces.

Received my set and it's awesome!!!! Very little clean up was needed, now I have to paint them
That's great to hear. The fact that you got yours so late kinda bothers me though. It seems the drop box I use isn't really tended to. I've sent a few through that one, and it's taken awhile for a few to get to others. Going to a different post office in downtown Torrance is a further drive, but I don't have any issues with them.

No line-art to post, but I did get my Hanken cel back from the framers.
Looks awesome, although I cannot seem to get a good shot of it in the frame without all the reflections...
Awesome!!! I'm not much for photography, but maybe taking the picture at an angle, and putting a black foreground to get rid of any reflection in the picture. Either way, the best way to see it would be to see it in person. Congrats on a very nice piece of art, and a great framing job. Jealous!!!

Bumping, still need quite a few and don't wanna let the info get stale.

I like this you posted:
"That was probably the shittiest review, and you don't even know how to pose it correctly. Also, are you too lazy to clean the release agent? To add, why do you sound so whiny in your review?"
jasonc212
Yeah, that's me. I was getting dressed and doing some stuff while listening to it, and all I kept hearing was "Wahhh, wahhhh, heavy, wahhh wahhh, oily I can't touch it, wahhh, wahhh". I'm sorry if this is someone on these boards, but if you are, leave reviews to people who can actually do a good job of it. It didn't have to be a shining review, but the constant whining was just like nails on a chalkboard.

Very interesting video review! Just goes to show you how much things that don't matter to some can completely ruin a toy for others. Who would have thought a little release agent would cause that sort of reaction? I hope he steers clear of Bandai's DX toys.
That was just a garbage review. I hope he's not someone trying to get into the toy review business, as he, excuse me, sounds like a little b!tch when complaining. He's too lazy to clean the toy, but wants to complain about it? Honestly, his review just sounded like a Yamato hater, and whether he is or isn't, that's how he comes off. He complained about the good things too, which clued me into the fact that he has no idea what he's doing. You also gotta see how it looks when he's done transforming it. You'd think he's never posed a toy before.

Variants of the German StuG III and many other assault guns/tank destroyers had no roof crew protection.
example: British Archer tank destroyer
And that's probably why they weren't so common, and were probably used more for artillery and/or artillery defense. If not, what's the point of having defense, but leaving the a very easily penetrating area?

"Why don't you open your eyes and take a good look. You think Earth has the best culture? B.S. You don't even know the meaning of culture!" Or something like that.

I never thought it was that bad, with the exception of the voice actors. As a standalone, it's decent. I actually think it's quite fun to watch, especially if you're gonna drink. Get a slight buzz on, and mimic the voice actors. Good times.

I keep checking hlj to see if it will be posted there, as hlj may have a deal to sell the exclusive Yamato stuff.

I've been going to Chile my entire life, and lived there for 2 years. Azrael is correct in stating they have only been exposed to Roboatech while growing up. Thanks to the internet I am sure they've been able to see the original works if they choose to.
However, the most probable reason is they aren't as concerned with the Macross vs Roboatech and the average fan boi knows little behind the legalities and origins of Macross. I've had my share of A-HA moments with my buddies in Valpo explaining the truth behind Roboatech.
And Azrael...they are smart, just mostly not educated in the truth
So, just ignorant to what else is out there. That wouldn't be a bad thing, except for when you get people that grew up with Robotech, then decide to add other mecha and characters, knowing it doesn't belong to Robotech. That's when you just gotta do a grand face palm, shake your head, and laugh at...hmmm, stupidity?

I don't have the funds at the moment for these, but man, I have to give you some props. The renders look fantastic. I can't wait to see the final product.
Great job man. Seriously.
Thanks, I didn't do the design, so those props go to the guy I'm working with. If you ever change your mind, they'll be here.

If Yamato makes this, this will be my first multi purchase of one expensive item (I think). It's just too badass not to.
matte finish
in The Workshop!
Posted
That will give the toy a matte finish, but because the plastic is so glossy, you would probably need to sand it a little so that the plastic has some viscosity for the matte coat to hold onto. In doing that, you kinda nullify the reasoning of matte coating the toy in the first place. That's just experience talking though. Perhaps it'd stick like white on rice, I don't know. I usually don't mess with my toys in that fashion, as I like keeping the toys as they were when I first get them. Gives a little more nostalgia opening them up, and they're easier to resale, if I decide to sell one for another.
