Hm. This two parter started out promising, but for me it didn’t quite stick the landing.
SpoilerThe gluttonous, greedy mining overlord was a bit too stereotypical and simplified. The animated series has given the audience better antagonists in the past so this guy being more two-dimensional was unfortunate.

I read that they are planning a cocaine (animal of the day) franchise. I sure hope this movie bombs so badly they shelve the idea. Not that I am going to see any of the movies but the thought of catching even a couple seconds of commercials for them makes me ill.
It is something that’s for sure. After watching the trailer, I’m also confident I’m not the target audience for this brand of camp horror comedy. And I’m okay not getting it.

Thanks for the comparison, @no3Ljm! I’m surprised by how many differences there are between the two. Each one seems to highlight different details, with the Hi-Spec giving a more curvy interpretation and the HMR bolder lines in Orgroid (bot) mode. The unique transformations, like how jenius noted the hands in Gerwalk mode. The two also appear to be using different reds for those accents and slightly different head sculpts.
I like them both, although I am hoping the HMR has improved posability.

Same. I’m not fond of Amazon or WB trying to build a billion-dollar cinematic fantasy universe. Although these studios may have the money to make wild contracts with the Tolkien Estate, there are other places to go and other stories to tell. This all feels like returning to the safety of repeat ideas.
Of the live-action productions, I rate The Hobbit at the bottom of the pack. Rings of Power is all right but still ongoing and could get messy if Amazon goes way, way astray the source material. LotR is still my favorite. I like all the old animated films, so I’m looking forward to the new one. But if this turns into another Marvel or Star Wars non-stop thing, I can see myself getting exhausted by it.

The high price has me worried that Bandai isn’t planning to do too much with Orguss in the HMR line. I hope I’m wrong but time will tell. I’m still in for one copy…possibly more if it’s better than the hi-spec release.

We have a price and a release date
July 2023
22000JPY MSRP
Source and photos from another forum:
No pre-order date yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this goes up March 1st with the 0D.

I hope this gets a US release, BBTS usually has a markup but for me the convenience and low shipping costs offset that, I love grabbing as much as I can these days at one webshop.
We’re in luck. The Tamashii Nations site lists the 0D as a worldwide offering.

I expect US stores will have it up for pre-order like they did the 0S, but a little later than the Japanese stores.

I’m in. With a release in August, the pre-order must be around the corner.

Ok. The 0D is looking good.

For me, the “genius” livery is sooo conflicting. I would love to see more uncommon and interesting non-canon paint schemes and I also like blue…but this is so on the nose: a VF-0S made up like the 1J. I need to think about it.

Are you also planning on getting the Moderoid kit or you'll just concentrate on the HMR one?
I'm hoping they will also do the M.Lovers.
I’m going to concentrate on the HMR for now. I also hope we get the M.Lovers… or at least a noteworthy Nikick.

Woah. EMS found a fast bird to haul my copy across the pond. It shipped Thursday last week and arrived yesterday. That’s from Japan to my porch in three business days.
-
Nice. I’ve been meh on a large portion of the non-Macross HMR releases, but Orguss has my full attention. Hope it’s enough of a hit where we get more vehicles like we did with HMR Dougram.
-
So far so good from those overseas who have their copies. Hoping that trend continues, for sure. I have a couple more weeks to wait.
But photos show MP-57 appears to be more triangular in bot mode than FT-10. It’s also a head shorter. Curiously, alt mode scale is a good match between the two. Hm…I want to see how Takara pulled that off.
-
I like MP-57, even the goofy bits that shine through. There’s an honesty to it. But that’s easy for me to say since I skipped Phoenix. The only other versions of Skyfire I have are Legends scale, and Takara is giving bonus pieces and added articulation to add to the play value. Those are both pluses in my book.
But yeah, the old G1 show was very much a vehicle to sell toys and that still resonates here. The one collab I’m sad that we won’t get is an official remake of the G1 toy with Takara and Bandai.
I skipped the KitzConcept GoF release, so those who went the unofficial route are twice blessed, I guess. HaHa!

I would call that another fun filler episode. Next week’s episode Tribe could either be the third in a filler trio or we could be back to the main story. Time will tell…

Regarding Apple TV+ shows, Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest are amusing, fun, and solid.
On the semi-sci-fi realm, there’s Severance. Kinda trippy concept, but worth a look over.
Thanks! Ted Lasso and Severance have come up in offline conversations. Mythic Quest looks fun too. I’ll make sure to check all three of them out.

Well, reaching out to BiJ for a DHL quote paid off: instead of the ¥6800 additional for EMS shipping, DHL's was "only" ¥4510... over a $22.00 savings. I should be getting their shipping notification fairly soon, and the Angel Bird before the end of the month.
Nice. I couldn’t be arsed, so paid the extra $19 after the exchange rate. LoL! No big deal since I’ve curbed my plastic addiction of late. These purchases are fewer and far between for me now.

I have one of the free trials for Apple TV+ from an equipment upgrade. It’s nice. I can easily recommend it. And even after my free trial ends, it looks like Apple’s service is in the lower pricing tier when compared with other services.
Of course, if one is anti-Apple, well…
Anyway, I’ve been watching Foundation and For All Mankind and I’m slowly moving out of my SF bubble to other things but it looks like Hello Tomorrow! will pull me back in. LoL! Looks a trip from the teaser.
On a related note, I finally moved my butt and upgraded my living room PC to Windows 11. As luck would have it, not only did that go without incident but this version supports a beta of the Apple TV+ app—making Apple’s service easier to access between MacOS, iOS, and Windows. Alas, their web site is still lagging if you use a browser to stream.

In the court of law, yes, he still is. The court of public opinion has never had to meet that burden, for better and worse.
Idealistically, the more public opinion moves toward addressing mental health issues and abuse like DAV the better our society should be.
Alas, I think reactions to this and the Ezra Miller outbursts are more about companies protecting their advertising dollars and public face after the news dropped their bombshell stories. I mean, I don’t expect to see Miller much in Gunn’s DC universe once that gets up and running.
As for the rest, it remains to be seen how our society, our culture, even our leaders step up to address the actual civil issues that are becoming more pressing and the reactionary domestic behavior that is becoming more frequent. I could go into detail, but that is its own can of worms and not really on topic here.

^ Same.
The (first?) season stuck its landing and was a fun ride overall, but I would happily come back for more story if we get it. All the in-your-face camp, rough transitions, and inconsistent pacing was easy for me to set aside given the high points. As for other, spoilery thoughts..
SpoilerI’m going to need a moment to wrap my head around the notion that a magical Shai-Hulud lives in the center of this world. I hope this gets more exposition in the future.
The final battle was cool and seeing the crone (in her different forms) and a possessed Airk was a good way to up the stakes for the party. Again, the only way I can think to do it better offhand would be to fix the pacing and make the possessed Airk parts last more than one episode.
Prince Graydon getting zapped was unexpected. I almost think it would have been better to hold his reveal until the beginning of next season and just tease the embattled Elora on that dark future landscape but that’s a minor nitpick.

I went with an easy anime-export order after waking up this morning. Will see if I can secure another copy at ami-ami later but it isn’t a big deal if I don’t.

With regard to Elora’s hair…
SpoilerIt was bleached blonde by the woman who took her in to hide her away as Brunhilde. Willow asks her about it in episode 4 (I think?) and she gives a bit of backstory about how the hair goop, when applied, had an awful stench.
But I think you guys may be onto something about how Elora’s natural red color is quickly returning the stronger she gets with magic. Although, over time her color would have gone back to red too and they were traveling the shattered sea for a while in the latest episode. So who knows?
As for the new girl in the latest episode…
SpoilerI am wondering if she is a new manifestation of the Crone/Bavmorda or just the darkness that is within Airk himself? Hard to say, but if that whole bit with the new girl was metaphor for Airk’s own struggle and he has become the new manifestation of the Crone… well, that would make for a very interesting conflict at this part of the story, IMO.

I think I’m going to wait to see what AMD’s board partners bring to the table for the 7000 series, but the reviews do seem hopeful. I just wish there was more representation in the sub $600US pricing block.
