Hey everyone. Here is a bit of a break from all the custom valks I have been doing. While this is technically not a model, I thought you might like to see. A member here commissioned me to re-paint their Biker Scout from Gentle Giant. Also used is a new base from germany I believe. I added all of the ground work. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I use Tamiya masking tape only. Some people use Tamiya to just mask the edges and then use cheaper tape to fill in the other areas. I just use Tamiya for everything.

Pull off the access panel that is located between the tail fins. Remove the three screws and it should be pretty self explanitory from there. Just be careful removing the panel. Use something flat and thin the pry it up and gently lift. Come in at a low angle, there are two locating pins that will snap off if you try to pry it all up from one side.

excuse my french but that is F__cking awesom Kurt. You make it look so easy! I've tried a couple of camo paint jobs and I know how hard it is. Well, for me it is. All that tape and cutting all those patterns... I scared my wife from all the profanity I screamed while doing it.
And excuse my photoshop ignorance but are the untouched pics the 'browner' ones?
No masking on the camo, all done freehand with the airbrush. I did not photoshop any of the photos. I was moving the lights around so that changed the tone.

Well...can't decide to take it as encouragement while working on mine, or a sign to give up I'm doing the normal GBP right now... and the decals are killing me. Small white decals on white backing = Ben going blind. That and the shear volume of them.
I notice that you've got a little bit of decal edging showing on your legart Kurt... when you applied that large decal, did you use a decal setting solution to help conform to the curve? I'm using PolyScale Decal solvent (the stronger one) and my decal is still ending up a bit wrinkly.... (mainly cuz it's a whole circle over the curve...) I figure that once the third coat of solvent dries, a coat of Future will smooth it enough....
Thanks everyone for the compliments. The weathering process sometimes will make the decal edges more pronounced. I use Microscale decal solutions.

Yeah, those where mine. The owner is or was a member here. I don't recall who it was. These are the first customs that have been sold to a second owner, that I know of. It is interesting to think where my work will end up over the years and how many times they will change hands. I will be watching this auction.

Those are Anasazi's excellent decals. The damage is done before painting and decaling. Just apply the decal and get it to conform the best you can.
Thanks everyone!
