My boy has just built his first model, a gundam SD snap kit. He got the bug from watching Sgt. Frog.

Anyway I want to get him a macross model that he would be able to build himself that would be a snap kit not requiring glue or paint.

Does anyone know of such a model?

I hope that this is not too off topic but I was just thinking that for the 30th anniversary it would be pretty epic if Kawamori et. al. made a macross 2012 movie bringing back the old crew, a more detailed version of flashback with more plot and filling in the story of Hikaru, Misa, Minmay and the rest. More wishful thinking I guess.

If this is going to be released in 2012 then I hope we will see some prototype shots soon.

But that may be wishful thinking.

Probably first a blurry silhouette with illegible japanese writing,

then some CAD drawings of a small fraction of it,

then a full CAD drawing that we will all hate,

then an unpainted prototype that will get several people to swear never to buy yamato again,

then painted prototype photos that will make us all clamor for the pre-order that will sell out within a week.

Months later it will be on sale at HLJ for 35% off and everyone will need triples (one for each mode).

A bandai 1/55 (chunky monkey) VF-1D would be a pretty spectacular 30th Anniversary item. Afterall it is the first VF-1 we see transform in SDFM.

I have been a little less active around here lately. I have Ozma on preorder at HLJ but I am having buyers remorse (kind of) already as I think I wanted Alto's more than Ozma's. That said I am sure ill be happy with Ozma and worst comes to worst could sell it. But since Ozma went from order stop to taking orders again I thought that maybe more of the Alto stock showed up somewhere. Wishful thinking I guess.

Did Alto sell out already?
