I have been wanting Yamato to make this for years but now I just cant afford this birdy. In fact most of the transforming macross figures are too expensive for my diminishing budget. Maybe one day I could get one but for now this is just way too much. I have to say that I am disappointed that they made the VF-4 a limited edition and that the prices of these things keep getting higher. I remember when I bought my first 1/48 Yamato VF-1 for $115 and that was a very difficult purchase for me to rationalize. For those of you that can afford it, congratulations! It is a beautiful work of art and engineering.

I would buy two if I could afford them. With the limited run I will be lucky to get one if I can even afford that.

I almost got this from NY. The price is about the same as some Yamato Valks and I really like the skull scheme. However it is still too much $ for me and I like the Red and White YF-29 scheme more. Though I am not going to get a $400 Red version.

Nippon Yasan has it available still for $296.

The one I ordered yesterday from HLJ didn't go though. Probably because I choose the private warehouse option instead of the ship it now option. I think people who ask for ship it now option have priority or something. Screw that site.

Sorry to hear that. Worked for me with private warehouse. Their new site is having some regular issues though which is making it difficult. Hopefully they will get the kinks all sorted out soon. One thing that is confusing is that I paid for the VF-171 and then put the request to send and the email they sent me said that the shipping would be paid with my credit card on file (instead of asking for paypal payment) but I dont have a credit card on file. Hope they sort it out.
