  1. It also depends on the mindset of the fandom.

Circa early 2013 was it, with the news of yamato going under, prices on things usually on sale soared sky high.

Everybody and their mothers was waiting for the VF17D to go on sale like the 17S. Very few people bought the VF19A upfront, everybody waited for sales.

    Suddenly a rumour started that the company might be bankrupt...wheeee 35.000 yen VF17D, 27.000 yen VF19A, 20.000+ VF1.

    And people still bought them.

  2. To be honest, nothing is selling at those prices. Even in my sale thread, with rock bottom prices on everything except the VF1S Max, I still haven't sold things [besides the spoken-for FP].

So in essence, you're seeing artificial pricing.

  3. So...yeah. Trimming down/getting out of Macross -again-. More or less only keeping and expanding on the VF19 moulds.

I'll "reunite" with them on Wednesday the 9th of July, and you have a window until the 23d of July to swoop in and get these figures off my hands. Pictures will follow once I'm reunited with them very shortly. Will not ask and will not take payment before the 9th of July at any cost.

Now, onto the boring, but important things

Location: GREECE, Europe. I will ship anywhere, but don't expect 10-15 USD shipping if you're in the US.

Payment method: Paypal. Nothing else, sorry

Trades: No, not really. Sorry, trying to unload, not gather back

I'm on the SSL here and have got pages of feedback over at tfw2005 under the same name. I'll also list a comprehensive list with transformers for sale once back in Greece.

    FOR SALE

Yamato 1.60 VF1A Kakizaki, DYRL. MIB. Stickers applied, mint condition----USD 100

Yamato 1/60 VF1S Max, DYRL. MIB. Stickers applied, one shoulder armour has one snapped tab, stays on regardless just fine--USD 200

Please note that only the two VF1 are available for sale from the pics below. Just the bare VFs, the fast packs are gone long ago.

All prices are before shipping. Please ask for shipping quote. I believe my prices are very fair considering their ebay prices. Can ship the items loose [actually prefer to] to save on shipping if you want to.

    Cheers, thanks for viewing!

  4. Macross related, single item? Toss up between the YF21 and VF17S. I think I paid about 210 USD shipped for the YF21 and around 217 for the VF17S.

Macross related, bundle? Very first macross items, 1/48 VF1A Kakizaki with Strike parts, paid around 200 or so USD for the pack and about 140 euros on top of that for customs.

Anime, non macross related? Probably the SOC set with the rider and the horse, around 230 USD shipped at the time.

Sci-fi in general? Close to 300 USD plus for Hot Toys BD Predalien back in 2008.

  5. Um...on this thing about prices, you people do realize that the VF19Kai, S and VF17S are HEAVILY discounted, right? All three had multiple production runs, probably in bigger volumes, and have been sitting on shelves for a while longer.

The 19F, P and the D variations of the 17 are just on their regular [or even slightly inflated] retail, nothing more, nothing less. With the latest boom in the market due to the panic about Yamato\Arcadia, retailers probably think they can get away with them being at those prices.

We've all had little windows to get the F and D at discounted prices [i stumbled across the 19F on HLJ's sale for, was it 16.000 yen?- and a VF17D bundle for 20.000 yen] but we thought they'd get cheaper than that as well. I even passed on cheap 17S because at the time I wanted a D. We all got burned on the waiting this time.

  6. The F is unlikely to gain anymore production runs [stopped at 1, right?] and with the way Yamato\Arcadia is going on now, I don't think we'll see its prices slashed down anytime in the future. The F came out like...end August\end September, so it's got like half a year on its back already. Besides the YF19 looking head, it's sadly a glorified cannon fodder using a very expensive mould, hence it not moving around a bit. And from my understanding, the S models are almost always more popular than the common single turret models [VF1A, VF19F etc] unless a named pilot is manning the CF machine.

  7. People had problems with both the color and head for the 17S and 19S so that makes both the 17D and 19F the more popular to buy. On top of that the 17 isn't as popular a fighter as the 19 in general and the engineering on the 17 isn't as good as the 19 so that makes doubly more sense the F would sell before the D which would sell before either of the S models. Personally I'm no fan of the Yellow markings either but the S head on the 17 in Battroid really does look very cool.

Really? Because the VF19S was at first, wildly more popular than the Kai, and the F model was sort of "meh" for lots of people. It's still around on some sites because nobody wanted it at full price.

The 19S has been reissued 3-4 times, that's why it's still so plentiful.

  8. Hmmm, slightly outdated by now. At the time of release, it was the best VF thus far [maybe competing with the then decent YF21].

Now, too many things irk me on it. While I like both schemes a lot for different reasons, I can't get over the pink line on the back of the head on the C.

  9. I really don't understand why they couldn't have included a small bit that slides so that the transformation shield centers itself as well.

The anime-accurate shield is more than just a retool of the perfect transformation shield. It's smaller and rounder...I guess they could do with a sliding joint though.

  10. YF21 used to be my favourite design of them all [only closely matched by Gamlin's VF22S], and it is a very sleek figure, but as a transformable TOY, it pales in comparison to the VF19.

Trust me. The VF19 toys rock whether you like the designs or not ;)

  11. Thanks for posting the pics. Man, what a good deal you had, I just bought from HK Collectibles, and with the savings and shipping, it still comes to 200$ !!! Anyways, I love the batroid mode picture, but not sold yet on the booster. One I get it, I will probably display it without the gun, with Kai on it's shoulder. Kai is my favorate hero in all of Macross, so I am very excited to receive this, this along with the Fans Project Quakewave (shockwave) I received are probably going to be my best toys in my whole collection, along with my yf-21, yf-19, and MP Grimlock. I have to admit though, the vf-1/48 have still proven to be my most sturdy good looking toys, but hopping the vf-19 will be almost as sturdy as it is supposed to be one of Yamato best toy.

    It IS Yamato's best toy.

It's certainly my favourite transforming toy. YF19, YF21? More like why bother!!!

  12. Nope, still did not get one. At this point I don't really give a damn though. Preorders usually started at 11.000 yen [from 14.000 retail] and EVEN BEFORE ITS F*CKING RELEASED they're like 20.000 yen?

Didn't pay that much for SOC Ideon, which is about two kilos of metal, I'm not going to for a bare valkyrie that needs an additional 9-20 thousand yen to look complete via fastpacks.

  13. Well, let's face it, besides the VF1 and the newer Frontier mecha, Macross is generally a niche territory. Members aside, there's a lot more transformers toys at many more pricepoints than what yamato can churn out. Not every member in these forums is as dedicated as the next one. Heck, I only have five Yamato macross figures at the moment and I've been here for almost 6 years. Yamato HAS done us a huge service, the VF19 is my favourite transforming figure ever and unlike takaratomy, they have to pay a license for macross items. It's not like I don't understand why the items are priced as such, but it's blocking off fans this way.

Anyways, let's see what Arcadia is up to before drawing any lines or going crazy and buying every single last Macross item we can find.

  14. Sort of agree with slaginpit.

Yamato were really outpricing their way out of the market, is it any wonder so many people were waiting for sales for almost all VF19-VF17? I got both my VF19 at sales 40 percent off!

I don't want Bandai picking the slack personally, as I detest their macross practices the last few years, but perhaps Arcadia can just keep on with that? Takaratomy sure didn't stop producing MP figures after the merger...they just made them better!

  15. Sorry to disappoint, but neither, keep your money. The SV51 has a gorgeous fighter mode but transformation all around is flimsy, almost all parts rely on friction in battroid with no locking mechanisms and the wings, if not loose out of the box, will get loose sooner or later.

VF0S is the most stable of the two, but it's horribly outdated compare to the newer VF1 v2. Ankle joints can't really support battroid mode's weight after a while, it can't hold the gunpod nearly at all and for some reason, after some transformations, the cockpit\nose section starts to droop down in fighter mode.

The designer of both has said he wants to tackle them again, so perhaps it'd be wiser to wait for it...

  16. Why's HLJ pro-scalper by allowing up to 10 of them to be purchased? If the stock was adequate their numbers shouldn't be the problem.

See it this way, at these times, how many collectors do you trully believe can spend over 1800 USD on these things in one go?

  17. Hercules should come down, in my opinion...that way you can have two valks\battroids with a macross class in the middle!! If stickers permit I'd label them both as SDFM 1 valkyries [time paradox!!!]

Seriously though, how safe is your work? That's like 1000+ USD on display in a basically public space...
