  1. Spacy, come on pare whether we boycott the toys or not, that litigation crap will still go on and really someone else is still gonna buy the toys. Look at that boycott we all allegedly did years back, did it make toynami cut back prices? Not really. MPC voltron still came out over 100$, and the alpha MPC's no matter how small, were still 80$. What I say? Enjoy whats out there and buy what you want. I could care less about HG, I don't like them either, but the 1.100 is toycrack and decently priced at that. Id buy it! I mean for the price pare they don't really seem all that bad. Does anyone know what scale the banprestos really were? The more i look at this, the more i think these are tooled using some existing parts from the super poseable figures from a while back, only this time transformable...and they DID make armor for those too....HMMMM. If anything we can get FAST packs, and GPS for REAL CHEAP for this line and still shove it in our suitcases on the way to work.
  2. TOYNAMI NOW THIS IS GOOD PRICING!!!!GREAT EVEN~!!! KEEP THINGS LIKE THIS AND MORE PEOPLE WILL BUY! Come on guys you know a bunch of you would have bought MPC Voltron is it were 40$. I sure as hell know I would too! And Noel, you little devil, do YOU have anything to do with this? Haha. You did work on the popbox Hikaru right? Something tells me you worked on this valk. And if you did, great price!!! BTW I think the hikaru 12"er is nice but pricey. But certainly a lot cheaper than those hot toys figures..HOLY CRAP now THOSE are expensive fellas!
  3. eren't the banprestos 1/200 or 1/144? Either way in all honesty this thing looks like it can blow the bandai 1/100 away. Coincidentally also which had the opaque canopy/
  4. I am actually very surprised by this move. By the scale AND the price! I LOVE THE PRICE!!!! And I gotta say the sculpts are better than the MPC. Judging by the price (msrp tag says 19.99) and the size, these things DEFINITELY seem to be George Sohn's next plan in making the next HCM. See this time around the price is APPROPRIATE!! I don't mind the swap parts since for me I will be playing with mine more than leaving them on their gear as much. I can only hope we get 10$ FAST pack and GPS-1 kits. If anything we now have a decent cheap form of toy crack! They look like 6" head sculpts smacked ontop of a bandai chunky monkey banprestoy hybrid lovechild for 20$ but with better proportions and sculpt than banpresto. So I like it! If these were overpriced as in 40-50$(which I was going to assume) then I would have called BLOODY HELL but toynami really surprised me on this. I think this move is brilliant! These don't hold a candle to yamato but for what its worth we are getting some decently priced toys by toynami to fiddle with in the office or desk. And I gotta say I might like these more than the MPC.
  5. I think WHITE panel lines with a medium grey sprayed atop a light grey fueselage would be FANTASTIC! Then again I have weird taste,
  6. from toyboxdx
  7. WOW!!! Cool mainpage update Graham! That got me by surprise! I am thinking now that the pitot tube is made out of vinyl. Its softer than PVC, and for something that small might be able to take the brunt of damage. What I DO like is how it can be rotated 180 degrees. I am glad they are tampo printing more integral liveries, I only wish the kite symbols on nose and intake warning signs were tampoed as well, but I do understand how difficult it might be to accomplish. And I hope the test shot went well for yamato, less kinks to iron out for them!
  8. I dunno man doesn't yamato only put up product photos once the toy is near release? And plus that one sample showed up in akhibara....I tend to think you might have a chance of buying it in march! =) Maybe april was just listed as a saturation date? Some stores do get toys in early.
  9. Hey I think the pics are of a PRODUCTION VERSION~!! Look at the closeup of the cockpit section and the kite symbol, do you see the EDGES!!? Other than that its a damn fine looking production model. The sooner I hear good qc reports, the sooner I put my order in! This sucker costs a lot I hope yamato uses all the proft they get from this on a SV-51 and VF-0D. Nothing like a 2 seater! 2 seaters ROCK and it would be the FIRST 2 seat yammie on the market~!!!! And it wouldn't hurt if someone like Tenjin did the box art...but then again I think im dreaming again. Darn it. Since 1/55 is close to 1/60 im gonna make this be buddies with my bandai reissues. KICK ASS!~ And it looks like a better toy than the 1/48. Definitely a progression. And PAINTED MISSLES!~
  10. Id buy a gakken, after seeing vintage versions out of box in a store in cali, I always wished I had one. I LOVE the scale and size on them things, looks uber powerful and durable.
  11. WHOA. ULTIMATE RUSSIAN SUPER FIGHTER TIME!~! The geniuses of MIG and Sukhoi, with the VTOL experience of yakolev, sturmovik of ilyushin, and bomber expertise of tupolev. This is a great idea in my opinion!
  12. The painted missles, the articulation, the aesthetics, they've got a winner on their hands with this one. I'm gonna wait till you guys start recieving your orders to hear about the quality before I order. Just to be safe. I think if we do get another it'll undoubtedly be a VF-0A since the only new tools they would need is a new head. And it lends itself to possibly 2-3 repaints alone(CF, Shin, other CF with bunny logo).
  13. The landing gear gimmick is VERY impressive. This thing has more advanced features than the 1/48 VF-1.. I REALLY hope we get a VF-0D and SV-51 now. The VF-0S seems awesome, hell I wouldn't mind a VF-0B based on the hasegawa version, that looked pretty cool!
  14. BAD ASS!!!
  15. Saverobotech, are the fingers fixed or articulated? Its hard to see since the fingers are so small and close together.
  16. I still think perhaps the higher price tag is dictated by stronger and superior more durable plastics, which also give it heft THEREFORE increasing weight of the overall toy in package and increasing shipping weight/costs. At least I hope this is why the price tag is higher. And hey who doesn't want heft? It would be cool if it came prepanel lined like the macross plus valks yamato did 6 years...HOLY CRAP SIX YEARS AGO!!!! I can't believe its been that long! It always puzzled me why the 1/60 and 1/48 VF-1 lines never came pre panel lined.
  17. That plastic screams chunky monkey plastic to me, which I LIKE!!!! Bandai had some nice durable, brick like plastic on their valks, and if yamato used that plastic on this beautiful monster then I will be pleased. The 1/48s plastic was durable, but I felt the bandai 1/55s had tougher plastic, they are BRICKS after all, but damn good ones!=). Please be durable bricklike plastic with gloss finish! If anything if it is the same plastic as the bandais, then this sucker will be substantially heavier than the 1/48. Can't wait to see transformed pics, and I say screw a VF-0A as a next release, I want a darn VF-0D!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!
  18. I kind of itch for a blue angels valk. Its BEGGING to be done.
  19. Omni, Since the shoulder are on ball joints, I assume the shoulders can be tilted outwards and still moved up. If anything its nothing like the 1/60 VF-1, where shoulder rotation was limited since the shoulders were far into the chest. This one has further spaced apart shoulders, so I think we should be okay.
  20. 85oo for the GPS? Or the FP? If the GPS...holy crap! Good discount!
  21. There must be something in the choice of materials that drove the price up. I mean size wise its not as tall as the 1/48...either that or its damn close. It does look bigger in some parts, and perhaps not only is the finish different but perhaps the grade of plastic? Perhaps it has a tougher more durable plastic that costed more to incorporate. Who knows? least I hope this is the case.
  22. Wouldn't Shin's VF-0A look similar to a low viz? I like how it will be compatible with the display stand they release, saves some of yo0u folks some money. Wait, Renato did it say the previous display stand or all new one? I am hoping existing.
  23. I duno guys, when stuff like this pops into akhibara, usually it ends up on shelves within weeks later. Remember the GPS-1? That came out not too long after akhibara had a display up. My guess? We will see this thing on shelves in japan BEFORE march. if not within 2 weeks.
  24. The semi gloss finish has got me excited. This will fit in with my yamatos AND bandais just fine! In regards to the 1/48 comparison, welp, look how far toy companies can progress in 3 years! saverobotech, do you think the store owner will be kind enough to take that sucker out the case and let you handle/photograph it?
  25. LOOSE AIRBRAKE LOL!!! Hmmm...the finish looks semi gloss!.....but the color makes it look slightly cheap....maybe its the lighting? That pricetag sure ain't cheap though holy moly! Are those fixed pose hands? Thanks for the pics man! I assume this thing will be showing up on shelves very shortly and MUCH earlier than any of us thought! (heh damn the mags don't even have pics of a production version and yet here is one IN store already!~)
