My 1st 1/48 valkyrie was also VF-1S Roy, despite all these QC issues I read from the forum, I still purchased one and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I used to have a 1/60 VF-1A MAX which I think is comparatively ugly , that's why I sold it afterwards. Later on, I bought a 1/48 MAX, not only it looks better than the 1/60 one, but also comes with the improved features of the 1/48 valks. Hopefully I can afford this 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru , I will then leave them in three different modes , without doing further transformation, that will still give me a simultaneous display of all three modes. Just waiting for my FPs from HLJ (which are already shipped), with them on, these 1/48 valks look awesome. Now, I just need to establish a 1/48 valks foundation fund to ease off my debts. ...........any donation?

totally agree and yet, these 1/48 valkyries & FPs are making me so broke ...wonder whether I should get the VF-1S hikaru

How big is the box? Is it as big as the 1/48 ones? If that is the case, shipping from Japan could be expensive .......

Seems like the R version is better....... Guess I just have to grab these two to convince myself.......

Thanks for the info........... According to the description from HLJ, they are slightly bigger than the first version and have more accessories, is that right? Their thighs seem to have different covering materials......or I should say the newer versions seem to have solid metallic appearance. The wing/booster for Great Mazinger (GX-02R) seems to be different ....can not be pushed in anymore...rather, they provide a little guy for exchange....

thanks for the advice....now I'm so tempted to buy these two....... yet, I also like to buy the 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru which will be released this coming Oct. What a dilemma. Consider I already had 1/48 VF-1S & VF-1A MAX. This is going to hurt my wallet pretty bad.

Has anyone bought these Mazinger & Great Mazinger chogokins (S.O.C GX-01R & 02R) made by Bandai.....how do they compare with the first version (quality wise), any improvement? Are these worth to buy?

I prefer the FP color more than the original, yet, it's a pain to keep that in battroid & gerwalk mode , looks cool in fighter mode though.

I have a mini collection 1/72 = 2 pcs (VF-19A & YF-21 FP) 1/60 = 0 pcs 1/48 = 2 pcs (VF-1S Focker & VF-1A MAX, hopefully can afford the VF-1S Hikaru coming this October)
