  1. Now where are you getting that info from ? I haven't seen that info in either the OVAs nor the Compendium ...It's OK to speculate , which is mostly what everyone is doing , but to invent such nonsense is just ridiculous. My argument is drawn directly from all the material available whereas your :-''VF-0 was used to test overtechnology that is currently in the VF-1.''- argument can in no way be backed up by anything in the OVAs or the Chronology. The VF-1 is 20 years old and the design specifications have been available for quite a long time , so I really doubt Kawamori will suddenly say that the VF-1 has an energy converting armour such as the SW-AG armour the VF-0 features solely so that the VF-1 can be reffered as one of the ''future variable fighters'' the compendium is talking about (i.e. YF-19 & 21 pin-point barrier system , which is the only energy protective system present in a valkyrie apart from the VF-0 ) It's fairly possible that Kawamori will take advantage of void that there's within the continuity before SW1 and even modify some details from it but I highly doubt he'll waste his time trying to fully esxplain the origins of the VF-0. If the Anti-UN had a new variable fighter then why would the UN deploy an old rusty VF-1 prototype that was supposedly used more than 6 years ago (based on your argument ) ? What role did the VF-0 play in the VF-1 development if they used the VF-X and VF-X-1 for tesing the VF-1's airframe (which is quite smaller than the VF-0 so it would be stupid to test the VF-0's airframe instead of the VF-1's particular airframe) and transformation mechanism ? What about all the other VF-1A prototypes which were already testing the thermonuclear engines before the VF-0 was ever deployed ? in other words , what's the point of producing 24+ VF-1 prototypes with conventional engines if the VF-1 was always designed for thermonuclear engines and all acknowledged VF-1 prototypes used thermonuclear engines ? Ok , let's assume the VF-1 is one of these ''future variable fighters'' that feature energy converting armour, where are all the other systems that the VF-0 was testing at the same time the VF-1 was being finished in the factories ? See my point ? where's the logic in bulding 24+ aircraft solely for testing overtechnology for another aircraft that is about to be released from the factories ? specially when none of these systems were ever integrated into the VF-1 design ... Would the fact that the Anti-UN was also developing VFs not be enough to motivate the UN to start developing new fighters apart from the VF-1 which, if we remember well , was unavailable for deployment ? And let me point out another thing everyone seems to have ignored up until now: Gerwalk mode was supposed to have been discovered by accident during a VTOL test using the second VF-1A model , so how come the VF-0 pilots be so familiar with Gerwalk mode ? more over , how do you explain the VF-0 to have Gerwalk mode incorporated into the transformation modes ? If it indeed was a pre-VF-1 protoype then it would only have Battroid and Fighter modes. Furthermore , the VF-0 features Omnidirectional HUD display which is only seen in future variable fighters like the YF-19 ; now , isn't this good enough proof that the reffered future variable fighters in the Compendium are indeed the SuperNova prototypes instead of the VF-1 ? Face the facts , the VF-0 is not a VF-1 prototype. Actually, in a 1999 interview with Shoji Kawamori, it was stated that the VF-1 did possess energy converting armor. This was included in a movie file format on the B.G.I. Series Macross 15th Anniversary CD-ROM from U-Print.
  2. No, this information from the Macross Hobby Handbook 1. Thank you everyone for your replies. : )
  3. This will be part of the Nanashi's VF-1 Valkyrie manual.... this was actually translated two years ago-can't wait any longer to show everyone. This is from Macross Model World/Hobby Handbook 1. Enjoy. Here it is: http://manuals.macrossmecha.info/vf1/fact/...tory/index.html For personal viewing. Please do not copy or redistribute. This version is printer-friendly.
  4. Very nice... looks good in color. Too bad it didn't make it into the animation. Designation adjusted: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat.../vari/vfxs.html
  5. Time to plug translations from the Nanashi's site: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat.../vari/sv51.html For reference of course ^^;
  6. What was shown on the Macross 20th Anniversary DVD was in fact a standard VF-11 mislabelled. This was an on-screen error. Officially, there have been no pictures released of the VF-11MAXL or VF-16-only the VF-11MAXL Custom. The only reference relating to the VF-16 was that its engines (or a custom version of its engines) were used in the VF-11MAXL Custom. A Japanese Macross fan, JAC-san, has draw what he thinks the VF-11MAXL might look like. You can see it here at Siegfried (another Japanese Macross fan)'s homepage: http://www5.ocn.ne.jp/~sieg/vf-11maxl.html
  7. You mean the fourth mode....."Gundroid Mode".
  8. *Ahem* Please excuse this outburst. This is directed solely at CaptRico. Please disregard if you are not him. Okay after, 7 posts to this thread, PMing and 2 emails through MW from CaptRico I am starting to feel just a bit harrassed. You really should be careful and think before you open your mouth. You may regret your words afterwards. (Probably not as much as I am going to regret having to show my @$$ in public because of you and your snivvling .) CaptRico.... First of all let me say that I am NOT a girl! Miyuki Saito, a translator that works for the Nanashi's Information Group is a "she", however I am not. No, you may NOT use the scans that I have made. You said that you've been looking for images of this mecha for how long? CaptRico Excuse me sir, but I am interested in knowing just how long before my initial post did you even know of the VS-XS Valkyrie II's existance. Yes this mecha design was drawn by Kouichi Ouhata, Junichi Akutsu, and/or Jun Okuda and they given their due credit. There is nothing I can really do about people leeching my scans. I can only ask that people not to copy the scans that I make. If in fact, the files on our server are lost, I have them backed up on CD..... if the data on the CDs is lost then I have all of the books and other source materials and am willing to spend the countless hours scanning and retouching the images again if needed. Please do not take the images that I have scanned. If I had not scanned them, then you would not have them to put them on your site, correct? Yes they are for everyone to see-to see on the Nanashi's Information Group website, but not to be taken and used on someone else's site. It doesn't make any damn sense for you to take images from my website against my wishes. You want the images, either view them on the Nanashi's website OR aquire the source materials, scan them and retouch them yourself. First you're telling me that you are going to take the images, then you're apologizing saying you won't use them, next you're asking to use them after I told you no, then you're demanding again. You're a freaking loon. And don't ever talk to me the way you did again. In fact leave me the hell alone. I find you to be despicable... you are very rude, selfish and sickeningly unstable person who rips off images and text from other website because you don't have a mind of your own. Have a heart? I have one. Get a grip and/or get a life. I do this to create an accurate Macross mecha information resource site that I am making for my fellow Macross fans and myself. Is what I get for all the efforts? To get the satisfaction of seeing someone leeching again. Its disheartening. Do what you want... but my response to your request is still NO. I have nothing more to say on this matter. Again, everyone else, please excuse this outburst. : (
  9. I believe there is only one beam gun on the MOSU and another piece of equipment: maybe a sensor unit or maybe a vulcan shell mount.
  10. Actually, I request that you please not copy and/or upload Nanashi's scans to another website or FTP etc. Please be courteous and simply view the images on-site to keep the Nanashi's website what it is. Thank you.
  11. Attention Macross II fans, Nanashi's Information Group is again the first to bring you something new. See: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat.../vari/vsxs.html The "VS-XS Valkyrie II" design was presented in an issue of Monthy Bandai Making Journal just prior to the release of Macross II: Lovers, Again. Your interest and support of the Nanashi's Information Group is appreciated.
