  1. They sort of are... But that's what happens when you try to turn anime magic into real life. Considering the circumstances, the 1/48 is the nicest thing out there. If you want out of proportion look at a bandai...
  2. Americans went through the same things in the 60's.
  3. I was thinking that same thing looking at the assembly. What if foam bits gets on the mainboard? Also, what about the heat dissipation? Were these liquid cooling pipes I saw? I would think foam would have a static problem as well. Nothing really. Should be okay as long as they don't conduct electricity and short things out. The PC itself looks like its liquid cooled. You can see the waterblocks and conduits pretty easily in this picture: http://sae.cside.com/sae/kat/pc/ern002/03h1509/09-02.JPG You can also see the conduits leading to the 3 radiator fans in the head here: http://sae.cside.com/sae/kat/pc/ern002/03h...cture/12-04.JPG I gotta agree, that's some rampant fanboyism, but the construction is pretty crazy. If only he could channel those talents into something less pathetic...
  4. I bet ya it'll cause a ruckus in this boards. As long as it's better than Yamato's and Bandai's previous 19's, I'm game.

    1/48 BR "blue camo"

Only thing that throws me off is that red stripe on the head. Other that that, that is quite possibly the nicest VF-1 I have ever seen in my life.
  6. Valkyrie... Valkyrie... See the relation now?
  7. Lookie, it's a Max TV 1A and an Angel Birds!
  8. Hahah not really. I think the line just needs to be refreshed. For some reason I got really excited about the Q-rau (1/60 btw) and then when it actually came out, I just couldn't justify spending $120+ on a hunk of plastic that can't transform. I look at the new M&M's and while I am intereted in the Miriya (millia... miria... has it been so long?), the Max 1J seems like a complete waste of money. 1/48 destroids? I'd bite.
  9. Maladroid? More like maladroit...
  10. Hard to say unless a dealer states that it's from the second production run. A few things were corrected: 1. Inner groves on the nosecone to prevent falling off 2. Face pimping on the VF-1S 3. More solid flaps 4. Straightened skulls on the VF-1S tail 5. Unclipped front landing gear door 6. 90 degree arm hinges Among other things that I may have forgotten... If you just look at the box, the only real noticeable difference is #4. The skulls painted on the tails of the first run VF-1S Roy's were crooked. The skulls on the second production run were somewhat straighter.
  11. The earliest 1/48's had a number of problems that were fixed as newer versions were released. The first 1/48's (Hikaru and Roy) were then rereleased under a second run with all the other fixes.
  12. It's the International Space Station complete with broken pieces and bicycle reflectors. Seriously though, what the hell is that...?
  13. Heh, don't you usually look for reviews BEFORE buying something? The VF-1J is great! Probably my favorite one yet. The J style head is amazing, the fast packs are great, pilot figure is wonderful, no flaws whatsoever. If you like 1/48's there's no reason for you to be disappointed with this one.
  14. Yeah. The thing looks like that because there's probably a little piece of scotch tape behind it.
  15. Or when it wants to look like a VF-11
  16. Yeah, something's definitely wrong with the legs. The intake portion seems far too large and is especially noticeable in that bizarrely proportioned fighter mode. It reminds me of that one VF-X toy design. That crazy big joint is still there, but June is awhile away and that can probably be refined, but a smaller joint on an already small toy will probably create issues concerning durability. The engine section seems too skinny, making it look weird and lanky in gerwalk.
  17. Just to clear this up, the picture's caption says that they first introduced the VF-0 1:100 in the April issue of the magazine. There is no mention of when the VF-0 will go on sale.
  18. That painted versions got it going on. Upper body is sweet. Nice detail and great proportions. Lower body.... something's not right. On battroid, the legs look look fine (cept for those huge ass joints) but on gerwalk they look so long and spindly. They should probably shrink the size of the intake as well. It looks like it's suffering from the same huge-intake syndrome that their 1:72 19 had.
  19. I think he means, next is the 1D followed by the VT and VE and then lastly, the armored J
  20. Bleah, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not popular. If Macross was not popular, Yamato's VF-1 line would have never made it out of the 1/60 stage. Hell, it would have never made it out of the TRUJ CF stage.
  21. Blame it on anime magic :/
  22. How true. While the XBOX is the better system, Sony holds all the licenses. The Xbox does have a few gems like Halo, Panzer Dragoon and DOA Unlimited. Then on the other hand, you have all the capcom and square games on PS2. Maybe save up enough cash to get both :/ You could proabably live without a gamecube though
  23. How about it just sounds cooler that way :/
