  1. Please forgive me as I know absolutely nothing about Gundam ) Macross 7 was way over the top, imo. You can only carry the "Music is Power" theme so far, and 7 kinda passed the goal line and just kept on running.

    And ohhhh, best of all!
  3. You and me both. Amen brutha!
  4. I don't want to even think about this as there's still a year left for Macross Zero. I wonder, if they made a Macross that didn't focus on music or VF's, would it still be Macross? I've been watching Gundam 08th, and I like how they just gave em all RX-78's and concentrated more on story and character.
  5. Ugh, don't force it. Keep the arms lying flat to the chest plate while swiveling. Only pull them out once the square sliders have cleared the tabs.
  6. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaw YEAH! Kanji Unknown = tanpin = Seperate Item. Repent, Yamato haters, your day shall come!
  7. What makes you think this? It's not like Yamato is a couple of guys handcrafting toys out of their garage you know. While the original design stages would take time, I would think they'd have enough resources to produce more than one toy at a time. Think back just a few months ago. In the span of about 3 months, we had a VT-1, a VE-1, fastpacks, a limited version 1/48 VF-1, and all the while they kept their same release schedule going. Now in 2 months, they've made the Hikaru 1S, re-releases of the 1A and the Focker 1S and a brand new 1J. That doesn't look like a lack resources. Fastforward maybe 6 months from now when Yamato starts putting out Q-Raus. Mind you, these things are larger than 1/48's and quite possibly larger than any prospective Macross Plus 1/48. Forgot to mention, that throughout this whole 1/48 flurry, they've still released 1/60's and even announced the sacred GBP!!!

Well, for every yin, there is a yang. I prefer the red one.

    VF-0 toys?

Either way , it´s fairly possible we´ll see a renewed VF-1 by the end of M0. I'm crossing my fingers. Something inside of me hopes that we'll see Shin serving aboard the Macross near the end of the series, especially after seeing that little OSX Flash error thing with the MZero webpage.
  10. deepdiscountdvd's got it for 25 clams, free USPS priority.
  11. What does all the bold stuff mean?
  12. ...is a monstrosity!!!!
  13. Okay, well of course it would have to be adequately detailed. Not like I'd except any ol' 10lb block of plastic just because someone calls it a valkyrie and sticks a little "YF-19 sticker on it. Rather my point was to draw a comparison between the two. Say they made the 1/60 with all the bells and whistles of the 1/48. Now say because of this, the price of the 1/60 goes up $20 or $30. Now which one would you buy? **Yeah, I know I can get a little over the top with this, but we 1/48 lovers have an opinion too.
  14. NONOOONonononnoonnOonO, you don't understand!!! We KNOW that a 1/60 macross plus valk has the potential to be JUST AS detailed as a 1/48 VF-1. You have drummed this fact into our brains repeatedly already. However, as Draykov has said, in another thread, a 1/48 Macross Plus valk can have EVEN MORE detail than a 1/60. Albeit, most unecessary detail, I must admit. But let me say it once here and try to clear up this little misunderstanding between the 1/60 camp and the 1/48 camp. We just want a BIG Valkyrie. Extra emphasis on big. I for one, don't give a flying sh!t about detail. The whole leg removal thing and heatshield thing not withstanding, I thought the detail on the 1/60 was good enough for me. Removable nosecones and opening airbrakes are superfluous. BUT... IT'S BIG! IT'S HUGE! I LOVE IT! I'm sure that's how a lot of other people feel as well.
  15. Maybe I should just go flat-out and say, "I wish Yamato would not make 1/72 or 1/60 toys. Too small/crappy for me."
  16. eh? My 1/72 19 and 11 were the exact same height as my 1/60 vf1. how is that towers?
  17. If you want to watch new shows, I recommend Planetes. Low on action, high on character development.
  18. The title says 1/72 diecast model series. Dunno exactly what that means though. Most like this is in reference to the 1/72 fastpack 21 which was kinda the suck. The little blurb where you see yf-19 just says "The Yf-19's rival fighter the yf-21"
  19. Well, a 1/48 YF-21 might be pushing the envelope of "do-ability," but I do think it would be more detailed than a 1/60. I mean c'mon: the bigger it is the more "realistic" you can make it. Real rubber tires on the landing gear, engine compartments...the bigger it is the easier it is to add detail. The act of adding the details is not easy, but the ability to incorporate it into a 1/48 model/toy would be easier than trying to detail a 1/60 or 1/72. True, although one valid point Aegis does make is that a 1:60 21 should be sufficiently large enough to add all the bells and whistles that a 1/48 vf1 has. Not that I really care about bells and whistles though. I just want it big and nice. True (with the exception of the pilot/cockpit area that is). But this is where I would say consistancy in scale comes in...I'd like it and if a $150+ table top YF-21 is what it takes to get it, then I may go for it. If you want to talk excessive, then let's discuss the 1/60 Monster. *nodnod* Too many times has the "The Q-rau and Monster are 1/60 and they have tons of detail!" arguement been brought up. This is the most blatant case of not understanding size over scale. I don't know how people can support a 1/60 Monster then try to shoot down a 1/48 YF-21.
  20. No, not flat. They are suppoesd to lie at an angle. Those tabs serve no visible purpose except to keep them at that angle.
  21. Well, a 1/48 YF-21 might be pushing the envelope of "do-ability," but I do think it would be more detailed than a 1/60. I mean c'mon: the bigger it is the more "realistic" you can make it. 22. And here we go again... What´s all this fascination with 1/48 scale for everything ? not everything is gonna be good because it´s big ,specially a 1/48 M0 or M+ valk. THEY WOULD NOT BE THE SAME AS YOUR 1/48 VF-1s they would double its size and the ammount of die-cast would be minimal , moreover the toy itslef would be too cumbersome to even transform , and as a display piece it wouldn´t have anymore detail than what Yamato can actually do with their VF-1s , and for that price it wouldn´t sell well , hell , if the curent VF-1 toys are limited collection item the M0 or M+ toys will be even more limited within that market. just as an example of th size of this things : do people realise that a 1/48 YF-21´s nosecone would be just as big as an entire 1/72 YF-21 toy ? I certainly wouldn´t buy such a big and expensive monstrosity. Let´s not talk about the M0 valks , those even bigger VF-1 dimensions: Fighter Mode Wingspan (fully extended): 14.78m (48.49 ft.) Length: 14.23m (46.67 ft.) Height: 3.84m (12.6 ft.) Battroid Mode Width: 7.3m (23.95 ft.) Length: 4m (13.12 ft.) Height: 12.68m (41.60 ft.) VF-0 dimensions: Fighter Mode Wingspan (full extended): ? Length: 18.69m (61.32 ft.) Height: ? Battroid Mode Width: ? Length: ? Height: ? So if my math is right, a 1/48 VF-0 in fighter mode would be a little over 15" long to the VF-1's 11"+ (does anyone have the exact dimensions of the Yamato toy?)...what's the big deal? It doesn't sound too monstrous to me. Big, sure, but not impossibly expensive or difficult to engineer. In regards to "everyone wanting everything in 1/48," I think it has more to do with consistancy than a "bigger is better" mentality. Obviously when it comes to cockpit and pilot detail, 1/48 is going to offer more in that area. Personally, I'd like to have various Valks of the same scale to display together. If it's easier for Yamato to do so in the larger 1/48 scale...cool. If they do M0 Valks in something smaller, so be it. It would feel like a step backwards to many, myself included...but whatever will sell is what they'll do. Dimensions are from The Macross Compendium Aegis keeps this up because he thinks having an entire line of toys in 1/48 will eventually detract from the smaller scales which he enjoys more. What he fails to realize, is that we KNOW how big these things will be. The people that want 1/48 want BIG. We can afford BIG. We have space for BIG. Nothing but BIG will satisfy us. Why settle for a cheese burger, when you can have a quarter pounder? Will a 1/48 YF-21 have more detail than a 1/60 YF-21? Probably not. But will the quarter pounder taste better than the cheese burger? Again, probably not. But it's bigger, and I think we've got a lot of hungry people here at MacrossWorld.

Maybe break off a big chunk of the wing where you melted it, try more carefully to blacken the edges, then build some airframe/wiring looking structure there, then get a heated pin and make bullet holes. That would be sweet. Expensive diorama tho!
  24. A drawback that I can see to these pilots is that they might deteriorate quicker than their solid plastic buddies. I hate thinking about coming home one day to see that my pilot has melted in the sun, or is slowly turning into rubber powder. Is there a great risk of this sort of thing happening?
  25. hmm what was the budget of T2 compared to T1? Who directed T1 and T2? Both Cameron i believe. He just bailed on the third one.
