Is there anyway I can play MUF with the new PSP Go? Thx
-
The new weapon pack of the VF-25 really reminds me of the VF-2 at first glance
-
I gave up on these new Yamato stands. I far prefer the older Yamato 'Launch Arm' stands or Flexi-stands.
These new stands might be great for smaller figures like the Macross GN-U, or Revoltechs, but IMO are absolutely not suitible for 1/60 VFs, even the smaller ones like the VF-1.
The friction fit of the attachment piece to the support stand is just too loose, meaning the VFs constantly want to tilt to the side.
With modification as in the post above and multiple stands attached together to create a more stable base, they may be better, but Yamato should not have released these in the first place with such a loose fit IMO.
Graham
Graham, any chance Yamato will release an improved version of the display stand in the near future?
-
#1: Probably 0. That version is a special final lucky draw item, only 100 units were made.
#2: Many. That is the regular release so many got it and posted about it before.
The "encore" version is coming:

I completely agree with you on #1. In fact. you either have to be very rich or very lucky. This guy (see link) scored one in Japan for 198,000 yen. That's almost US$2000
-
Yes, unfortunately. At least the clear version anyway.
Too bad then. I bought the VF-22 but don't plan to get the 21. How about the SV-51? Does it come with any stand that's compatible with other valks?
-
The display stand for the YF-21 looks good. Does it only come with the YF-21?
-
You did see that the VF-11C isn't merely a simple repaint right???
Different gunpod, boosters, etc. Those are new molds for those pieces. And even if it was a repaint as you claim, all manufactures do them, or they wouldn't be able to offer us those other toys that we crave.
Last time I checked the VF-11 was one of the more trouble free releases from Yamato. There were very few complaints, about it. Most of them dealt with how to properly transform the shield over the cockpit.
And keep in mind that many of us prefer the VF-11C color scheme over that of the 11B. So in a way, Yamato is trying to keep us happy.
-
Official pics from Bandai. Yup, looks like there's no landing gear
-
Gotta agree with Graham. The color scheme of VF-11C is way cooler than that of B. I could be wrong, but didn't the VF-11C show up with full armor once in M7?
And I wouldn't worry too much about the Fire Valkyrie. Given its importance in the series, I am sure Yamato will eventually get to it.
November is going to be an expensive month.

I shot my guess in another thread... But the left hand told me that it's a DX. VF100 doesn't carry an open hand like that (but the DX does).
The hip definitely is not that of a 1/72 model kit.
True, the hip does resemble that of a DX. But it's strange that out of the blue we see a painted VF-27 prototype on display without any previous announcement. Still, I am starting to get excited...
-
VF-27 from Tamashii Nations 2009 (not sure but i'm guessing it's 1/100)
I believe that's a 1/72 model kit, but I could be wrong
-
Always when we purchase a VF-1 toy, another is announced. Why can`t they make something new or never been produced.
Here's a list so far from all those VF-1's (Transforming ver.) :
VF-1 1/55 (Takatoku/ Bandai).
VF-1 1/100 (Takatoku/ Bandai).
VF-1 1/60 (Yamato).
VF-1 1/100 (Banpresto).
VF-1 1/48 (Yamato).
VF-1 1/100 (Toynami).
VF-1 1/60 Ver. 02 (Yamato).
VF-1 1/100 Hi Metal (Bandai) TBA.
VF-1 unknown scale (kaiydo) TBA.
Anything else ?
There's also the Toynami Masterpiece (forgot the scale but I think it's 1/55) and the Bandai HCM.

That's a lot easier for you to say when it isn't your mealticket on the line.
Their meal tickets being on the line is exactly the reason they need to do it right. Trying to compete in an already saturated market won't do them any good, especially if there is nothing special that differentiates their products. The Macross universe has expanded quite a bit since the original series, and there's plenty of blue oceans where toy companies can find a niche.
-
BTW, Millia is scheduled in Nov and Max in Dec.
I doubt things will stick to the schedule though...
On the list before Dec, Yamato owes us the VF-1S LV, VE-1, VF-1D VR, M&M VF-1J, GBP VF-1J, 1/48 Kakizaki TV 1A... Can they really deliver a Millia 22S in Nov?
Only Graham knows
-
If it does not fall apart easily like the 1/100 VF-25 and requires less part swapping, I think the price can be justified, especially since there is currently not other substitute in the market.
-
Any other valk but VF-1 would interest me...
These Japanese toy companies need to take bolder steps if they ever want to win market share. Is Yamato the only company that did NOT start the Macross line with VF-1?

The more I look at Alto's figure, the more he reminds me of Kicker from Transformers Energon / Superlink
-
Picked up the last one in the Sugar Street Animate branch yesterday lunch time. Paid an exhorbitant price, but no time to trek over to Ins Point to get it cheaper.
Surprisingly small box. Haven't opened it yet. Gotta wait til' the wife goes on night shift in a couple of days.
Graham
No wonder I didn't find any left when I stopped by Animate Causeway Bay today. I doubt you will get it cheaper from In's Point. Immediately after I had paid for mine, the seller jacked up the price. It's so wrong.
-
I certainly did. So ignored the instructions, removed the hands and wrist armor on Alto, and it fits much easier.
Thanks for the tip! That's my only issue with the toy. The crotch armour does fall off from time to time, but no big deal (I think there is a small magnet that secures it to the waist area). Other than that, I think it's a beauty.
I hope when the next shipment comes, prices will drop.
-
Just got mine. I like it!
Same as the great reviews above.
-Great articulation came from SH Figuarts line (W/ the armor, the articulation will be limited)
-Great gimmicks.
-Nice set of accessories.
-Joints can handle poses but the ankle joints are too thin, risk for breaking.
-Real small amount of diecast on the armor gear, better than nothing.
-The helmet has a face of Alto inside, too bad can't take it out. Face shield is too dark, but face can still be seen.
-The display stand is awesome! Very poseable and neat.
-I want the rest of the gang including Ranka and Sheryl! Since they already made a girl for SH Figuarts.
-Price is too steep (Got mine from anime export w/ best offer of $70)
-Recommended for the MF fans.

Do you have trouble fitting the armor onto the forearm? Mine is very tight and I am already getting scratches on the plastic.

Not yet in Wanchai when I looked this evening after work.
Okay, I take back my words earlier. Looks like the Ex-gear toy is selling out pretty fast here in Hong Kong. I checked again today and most of them are already sold out. The main reason is because only a few stores carry them in the first place with limited stock. Many sellers complaint about the steep price and decided not to import them.
Graham, try In's Point near Mong Kok. There's a store that still has a few. And yeah, I caved in and bought one today. =)
-
As requested.
Hi Supersylp, really appreciate the comparison picture. Thanks! So I guess without the EX-gear, Alto is shorter than Seiya.
-
I agree. The GNU has much nicer sculpt. I personally hate those ball joints on the revoltech. Nevertheless, I must say I quite like the human action figures from Revoltech

"Hi Metal" can mean from full blown metal build or just metal feet and legs for added weight. If the metal is used in the appropriate areas (transformation and articulation points) then count me it.
But would the "Hi Metal" category include the VF-19 or just everything thereafter?
Or could it just mean metallic color, like the two non-transforming VF-25's we are getting in the VF-100 line?
In Hong Kong for a meet on Nov.1

The best places for seafood buffet IMO are all in Macao, which is an hour away by ferry. Just visit any of the major casinos there and you will find a decent buffet restaurant. Prices range from US$20+ to 40+ per person. One suggestion is Sands Casino, which is located right next to the ferry terminal. Venetian is also pretty good but it's farther away.
If you are looking for other types of restaurants in Hong Kong, try the website www.openrice.com
That's what many locals use, but unfortunately it's available only in Chinese. Hope this helps!
