  1. The links are probably broken because dalong.net uses the most atrocious site design tool known to XHTML (frames):

Here is the link to the normal PG of GP01:

    http://dalong.net/review/pg/p08/p08_p1.htm

Or just go to the main page and navigate there:

    But it's a great site :)

I always consult dalong before making a buy, except for PG kits because I know I'll like them. I love how he's been doing Koto kits more lately as well. I recommend checking out his display setup, it's nuts!

  2. Thanks everyone! Didn't had much time for model building the last weeks so I spend a few hours on the launch arm today.

It's not very anime accurate but you can say it's an ufo-catcher Macross Frontier style.

    Thanks for watching.

Really like that arm A LOT. Very cool.

  3. Hi.

Can any one tell me if these decals need to be used? I re watch Macross Plus again and no U.N. Spacy mark in painted on the YF-19. And the low viz Macross Decals???

    Thanks

I think all but the gray kite logos are used. The UN spacy decals I know are used, I think the industries stickers are as well.

  4. I have a question about the water slide decals. Has anyone had a difficult time with them? I had already messed up two of the decals, one of which disappeared and then found dried up under my thumb. Im very close to abandoning the water slides and using the clear stickers instead.

Anyone have tips for those decals? I already have the decal setter solution and plenty of clear gloss paint, I just need some direction.

Microset. Brush some where the decal goes, do the warm water decal dunk, apply decal sliding it off the backing (cut the sheet up), apply more via light brushing on the decal, use a q-tip to set in final place. Allow to dry, then Clearcote.

  5. Gotta agree with you, the SV-51 is underrated!!! It's a great design and the toy version is awesome. Altough the YF-21 is my favorite, the SV-51 is up there in my top five list.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Nora's (I hate the color scheme) but Ivanov's is just intense. When I cleared out a lot of my Mac toys, I said if I only kept one it would be my Ivanov, problems and all. The mass productions aren't to shabby to look at as well IMO.

  6. I keep my models and Valks in a display case. And the shades are pulled in both of their locations (TV is nearby in one, and the computer is nearby in another). I haven't had anything yellow yet.

I might be getting a PG GP-01, any thing I should know about the kit?

Great kit. I love mine personally, not a single regret. The stand makes for an awesome diorama. It's a bit clunky compared to some other kits, but still works very well. I've always held a shred of hope for a PG GP02 to accompany it though...

  7. they're not kidding.

the model is very back-heavy, and the hip joint assembly doesn't hold its position tight enough.

i've had mine fall over backwards/make splits, then fall over.

overall, it's an impressive kit. but unfortunately, it was engineered too early for its time.

how i wish that it would've been engineered around the time the PG Strike was made.

i actually prefer the MG v2.0 engineering, especially the "swing bars" for the wing armor.

I second this. That's why when you look at most peoples displays, the Zeta is toward the back. Mine leans against the back of the shelf, I've managed to get it balanced before but I don't trust it on it's own. Like Zero, this thing really needs a stand.
