  1. I have the TFC versions of both. I am particularly fond of the Insecticon Box because of the three energon cubes it comes with - very nice! :) (borat voice) :)

    Pete

I have the TFC versions too. If TFC was still around, I'd probably still be collecting G1 reissues. I loved the bookstyle packaging...I've even considered making custom ones for Encore/ehobby reissues, but what the hell would I put for the Japanese writing?!

  2. Just put that 00 Raiser on the back of the back burner. You don't need it. <_< Can't stand 00...

Anyway, I have beaten backlog. The way to do it is to stay off of MW.

Touche...however, it's Gundam, it's 1/60, so having that completist compulsion means it must be bought and built. And with the amount of posts you have vs. the time you've been a member means apparently you aren't staying off MW all that much!

  3. I meant Non-Gundam mechas in the Gundam franchise. Like the Geara Doga for example. I know there is a HG but i want an MG version.

What about all the GM variations, R-Gz, Zeon mechs, and you know there will eventually be a Guncannon 2.0...I don't know, I only do PG's and 1/60's now anyhow.

  4. They need to make more Non-Gundam MG's.

Never been a fan of the gundam designs except maybe one or two. I find them too generic and boring looking. But there is a lot of unique and interesting non-gundam mecha's i'd love to see get the MG job.

Meh. Dunbine kit was cool, but the Patlabor kits sucked balls. Frontier kits are basically MG's though, at least that's my opinion.

  5. Dem Fighting words

    "NOT HI-NU CRAP"!!!!!!!

Hi-Nu isn't bad, but for a PG, I'd prefer the regular Nu.

As for your inquiry on the Red Frame PG, it's badass, of course. It's a retool of the Strike, and that design is the best PG kit bandai has to offer at this point. And that's fact, not opinion. The frame is super articulated, super high detail, awesome gimmicks. The Red Frame is not as articulate in extreme poses though, as the armor interferes with certain joints that the Strike's armor doesn't. Still awesome though. But if I had to choose, I'd choose Strike over Red Frame.

  6. I want one, but I just don't see enough that blows my mind right now. I love the 19, but there's too much other good stuff out there right now. Maybe someday. I still say the Battroid head is stupid unless you make it variable.

  7. Wow, you guys are awesome. I love seeing what everyone is doing, and am feeling inspired.

I'd never done a model (not counting an SD Gundam 15 years ago) but I saw this kotobukiya kit on sale for 200 yen at Yodobashi and couldn't pass it up. Now I'm hooked, and just got a cheap HG Zaku to practice up on before I butcher a Hasegawa Valk. I'm fighting the urge to buy box after box of models that I'll never put together, and just go one at a time (>_<)

Backlog is one of the modelers greatest nemesis. I've never beaten it though, no one has. You'll come across the one rare resin kit of something you love, or the great deal you can't refuse. That's how mine started...now I'm about 15 kits in the hole with a PG 00 Raiser on the way!

  8. I've said it once, and I'll say it again...

Nasty Bayformers look like an EVA humped a car and made ugly mutant GM babies.

And I like newer designs like Animated/Classics/Cybertron. Hell, I even liked Energon and a small amount of Armada. NO modern line comes close to RID though. Best line ever! JRX was the greatest combiner concieved, Omega Prime rocked...no complaints about that line at all except the lame Bruticus repaint. Amazes me to this day how out of place he is in that line. I'd have rather seen Predaking if they were going to recycle G1, since they were Predacons and so were the RID villians.

  9. I wonder how long before we see a blue frame/green frame/gold frame repaints and Level 2 Astray PG's...man, a PG Gold frame amatsu would be awesome. Can't explain why they did a PG Raiser though, looks cool, but repaint/remold value on it is nil, I mean what else could they make from it? I'm still holding out hope all the years for a PG Sazabi and Nu Gundam though (Not Hi-Nu crap, old school Nu style PG)

  10. Now on the playlist:

    INXS: Mediate

    Nitzer Ebb: Control

    Pig: Prayer, Praise and Profit

    Frontline Assembly: Laughing pain

    Pitchshifter: Microwaved

    Sex Pistols: No Feelings

Rage against the machine: Know your enemy

    Skinny Puppy: Hexonxonx

    Ministry: Just like you

    Nirvana: Son of a gun

  11. Nice job, very unique. Questions though...

    1. How would the valk handle firing that much stuff without the aid of GBP to help handle the stress to the frame? Not only that, but in Battroid wouldn't it basically be a sitting duck with all that weight and no added protection from GBP?

    2. Why is it a VF-1Z? Wouldn't it just be a heavily equipped VF-1S since it has the same head design?

  12. I can't bring myself to salivate over the PG 00 Raiser, but I do like it.

    Man that sword's huge! :o

And the Astray could do high kicks too!

Question: What's the general feeling for (Strike) Freedom? I thought that gundam was popular enought to warrant a PG...

Doubt we'll ever see a PG Strike Freedom, since the Lightning edition 1/60 is close to a PG as a kit could get without the PG label.

I'm counting the days until the 00 raiser. I'm not a huge fan of 00 mecha, but I'm just excited to have a new PG kit.

As for the wiring thing mentioned earlier, Zaku wiring sucks worse than zero's. It's to the point where I don't even bother wiring them or putting batteries in sometimes, as it's a pain in the ass and I never use the light up features anyhow...

  13. Hi there - I'm actually looking to strip markings from pre-painted model kits like the Armored Core kits - but I think the process is the same as that used to print markings on the Yamato toys, so with the amount of customization work we see on MW I was hoping someone here might know... Is there a good way to strip this stuff off, apart from just sanding it off? If it were hobby paint, or chrome finish, I would be able to strip it myself using "Easy Lift Off", oven cleaner, automotive degreaser, etc... But so far my efforts to "strip" pre-painted parts chemically has failed, so I'm not sure if it can be done in a way that leaves the plastic intact...

Rubbing alcohol worked when I stripped off the markings on my alternators Smokescreen.
