  1. If some of you guys idolize or wish for anime women in real life then I suggest from central Russia ... of course with out the purple hair color :p

I'm sure she'd be willing to bleach and die her hair for a chance to come to the land of opportunity.

In Mother Russia, hair dyes you!

  2. The animation females are either white or asians who have predominantly white features ( big round eyes, larger racks, taller, hourglass figures, etc etc etc) Kusanagi has an asian last name, but she looks caucasian.

I think this has less to do with certain cultural forces at work than simply the experiences of the creators and writers of these series.

I have to disagree. I think cultural forces are exactly the reason why many anime females tend to have caucasian features.

As much as the Japanese are proud to be Japanese many of them go out of their way to look less Japanese. The greatest example of this is the eye surgery many Japanese women undergo to "fix" their "chinky" eyes.

And let's not forget the whole "kogal" craze.

  3. Check out the Daicon IV stuff in there.  It's a good book but it was too much money for me to purchase.

Yeah the Daicon IV opening (with screencaps) is the first thing they talk about in the book.

Did you click on the link I provided? Amazon has it for less than $40.

  4. Dude, since you're posting all these gay related pics, aren't you saying something about yourself. ;)

What? That I'm perfectly secure with my heterosexuality and that I can laugh at sh!t like this?

And what other "gay" pics have I posted?

BTW, did anyone go to UFC 59 in Anaheim this past weekend?

The movie is not being directed by Hayao-sensei but by his son, Goro.

Earthsea is Ursula K. Le Guin's fictional world and the setting of some of her short stories and novels. Apparently the movie is based on the 3rd Earthsea novel The Farthest Shore.

Here's a brief synopsis (of the novel) from wikipedia:

Throughout Earthsea a strange malaise is spreading. Magic is losing its power; songs are being forgotten; people and animals are sickening. Accompanied by the young prince Arren, whose true name is Lebannen, Ged, also known as Sparrowhawk, now Archmage of Roke, leaves the island to find the cause of the problem. After a journey which takes them to the literal end of the earth, and into the land of the dead, they confront and defeat the mage Cob, whose magic has opened a doorway between the worlds. But Ged must sacrifice all his power to close the breach.
  6. As for Kusanagi's period:

Hell if I know, it was there, but if Motoko only has a few human braincells,

where do all her human emotions come from? and what does a combat

    ancyboroidoid thingamabobz need with those

It's one thing to know that you're no longer completely human, and another thing to know that you're no longer human.
