1. Ummmm... they didn't care about our weaponry. They bombarded us to destroy our civilization. That was kind of a major point of the story.

I could be wrong, but I dont' recall any dialogue to that specific affect....

    It's in there.

Bodolzaa only came over because his underlings were all contaminated by culture. That's also why Britai, Lap'lamiz, and Kamjin(maybe) joined forces with us to defeat Bodolzaa. He was going to kill them all anyways, so they had nothing to lose.

IIRC, the decision by Bodolza to wipe out Britai, Lap'lamiz, and Kamjin's forces was made in Episode 26: Messenger.

  2. Half-time.

I suppose you can say he looks "gay".

But they way I figure it, he's just another metrosexual who doesn't mind paying $200 for haircuts and likes to take care of his skin.

    My daily regimen:

Lancome Exfoliance Clarte Gel (Exfoliating Gel)

    Lancome Clarifiance (Oil-Free Gel Cleanser)

Lancome Pure Empreinte Masque (Purifying Mineral Mask with White Clay)

    Lancome Tonique Douceur (Alcohol-Free Toner)

Lancome Bienfait Total UV (Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 15)

    Chicks dig the smooth skin.

But I'd never pay $200 for a haircut. That sh1t's just ridiculous; I just shave my head with a No. 3 clip with my trusty Wahl.

The resulting destruction of the planetary civilization was the collateral damage of the bombardment.

If they were being fired upon by the moon cannon, would they have fired on the Earth first? I think not...

In Episode 25: Virgin Road Bodolza specifically orders the destruction of the planet Earth and the Macross.

  4. Crap game/franchise never liked it since the first one, Virtua Fighter all the way  :)

No way! Soul Calibur, beyotch! You can't block a katana with your arm! :D

But yeah, a Tekken movie has "bad news" written all over it.

  5. What other sites do MWers go to when this site goes down?  What if your waiting for a PM here or just need that fix?

    395637

Do they have to be forums or can they just be whatevers?

    395640

    yeah I meant forums.

    395775

    Oh, okay. In that case:

    www.genmay.com

    boards.ign.com

    slashdot.org

    bbc.co.uk

    www.pinoyexchange.com

  6. Really?  How is that so?

Because, for one, the Japanese population is going into a decline, and two, the foreigner population in Japan is growing.

Which means... more non-Japanese citizens, mixed children.

Which means Japan is less and less homogenous.

    395684

I figured that was what you were talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if this was true, but it'd be nice if you could give me some numbers (birth rate/immigration statistics).

  7. I find that HIGHLY unlikely.

Seeing as how in the Macross canon, the human race was basically manipulated with what was probably a pretty basic set of human genes (I assume the beings that were manipulated were the pre-Homo Sapien human species'...), yet still developed into several different races, with only a few hundred thousand years, seperated only by a few thousand miles.

On the other hand, Protoculture had been around for for about a million years, and eventually spread all over the universe.

There's no way that racial groups wouldn't have developed.  They probably just had less importance than protoculture's view of itself as singular group.

    395537

I understand where you're coming from.

However we are also talking about a civilization who are experts at genetic manipulation and cloning. Who's to say they didn't develop a singular genetic template (like the Nazis did) in their early past to base future generations on?

I'm not saying I'm right; all I'm saying is this is how I've always imagined the Protoculture.

Even the Japanese are getting less and less homogenous...

  8. OMG NASCAR Camry! I think they're wearing parkas in Hell right now.

He suggested that most young Americans, asked their favorite car companies, now would mention Toyota. He said Toyota has had a long-term strategy of being accepted like an American company, hitting another milestone in American assimilation this year with the announcement that a NASCAR edition of Camry will begin racing next year in the Nextel Cup, America's top stock-car series.

I'll root for the Big T, but I still won't watch NASCAR. :p
