1. I'd like to try and convert (although I'm totally new at this) a 1/48 yamato valk into a replica of the Hasegawa model kit with the strike armor. If anyone knows where to get the moon vocal concert decals in 1/48 size, please fill me in! And a VF-1S head would be another plus. I appreciate any help once again! And thanks to everybody who's helped me in the past thus far!

Anasazi's the man to contact about decals:

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=18090

I'm sure he has the Minmay Guard Moon Act decals too.

As for a replacement head, those seem to be getting harder and harder to come by. There used to be an abundance of recast heads, but most ppl. either stopped or have just disappeared from the scene altogther. I think Neova might be cooking up a batch though:

3. Np Brian, i just really hope they got em in stock. I know how much it sucks to need just one rare/limited edition figure left to complete your collection, but in the meantime it's impossible to find anyone selling it. It's funny how your post about the bad service you recieved at toys n joys has turned this into a bad online selling experience post. I really hope everyone whos still waiting for their packages get them in due order and i hope this also serves as a warning to everyone else to be wary of places like toys n joys <_< .

Toys'N'Joys should be called "Frowns'N'Letdowns". It's always interesting to check the postmark date on late items because you'll often find that the item didn't get shipped until you started asking them what's going on. In many of the circumstances you get lied to. I AM happy to report that I've had a couple of dealings with people from this website already, and they have both been really great! It's nice to find an entire website of people who are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Macross name in all facets. This is fast becoming my favorite website! Unfortunately I've got my wife (whom I love more than anything) asking me if I'm flirting on here or something. haha

4. Hey... I'm new, so go easy on me.

I'll admit upfront I'm actually a Robotech freak, and I only just saw DYRL for the first time. :p Shame shame, I know.

But anyway, does anyone know if Yamato is planning on re-issuing the Max VF-1J? I can find Milia *cough* Miria *cough* on places like eBay, but I can't find Max. Was he more popular? I'm loving that blue color, I know that.

It'd be great if someone could let me know if I could ever get my hands on one.

BTW - I just got my first 1/48 a few weeks ago. It was a VF-1A Cannon Fodder. Pretty good, my only beef is that the cockpit control board was glued in crooked to the point that the cockpit wouldn't close correctly. Plus I can't figure out how to get the backpack to stay up in Battroid *cough* Battloid *cough* mode. I think I transformed it wrong.

381548

Hey man! Welcome to Macross World.

I too am a Robotech fan. It brought me into this fantastic world...and although I am a fan, as an adult, I tend to be drawn into Macross a whole lot more. But, I am not a Robotech hater. I love Robotech. But Macross, Macross is my crack.

You had trouble with your "back pack" staying up too, eh? I think I know what the issue is with the fast packs, and why you can't get them to stay up in batroid, er battleoid mode.

It's really a simple solution. When I first got my 1/48, I was afraid of it! Seriously, at that time, it was the most expensive toy I had ever owned. I was afraid to apply pressure of any kind. To press on any part, to do anything! And, the directions didn't help me either, they are not the best. I mean, I don't read Japanese, (although I can speak a little) but the images made some of the "little details" difficult to process. Yamato makes the best toys out there, no doubt, but their photographers and graphic artists are less then desired. They do not do the toy any justice, and yeah. The whold directions thing. I mean, all you have to do islook at the "artwork" for the 1/48 boxes. They're okay, but they can be so much better. It is a minimal gripe, cause like I said, there has never been a toy as amazing as the 1/48.

I got derailed. Let's get back to your Valk's "backpack" problem.

Transform *cough* your valk into battleoid (battroid) mode. Look at the back. The piece that closes shut against the top center of the back (that the "back pack" sets against) can be "pushed in." It does not just rest there, like in the Toynami so called Masterpiece veritechs, or the 1/55 Bandais. This may sound confusing, so I took some pictures to help you out. See pic one.

It may not look like it, but it can and will push in. See Pic 2. It's designed to. It will snap into place.

As I said earlier, 1/55 versions did not "push in". But this piece is designed to. Once it's pushed in, press the "back pack" up against it. There is a little "hook" like device that swings over, and *SNAPS* over the top of the backpack. This will hold the backpack in place. See pic 3, 4 & 5.

Now, the super / strike parts will fit in without "falling" over. See pic 6.

I am no photographer, but I do hope these pictures and directions help out a bit!

Oh, and this is my custom 1S Low Vis. No where near being done, but a great visual to accompany my demonstration.

I hope this helps! PM me if you need anything else!

EDIT: WOW! When I added the pics, they got all re arranged below! Damn it. I do not know how to fix that. Here are the pics in the order they are suppose to be:

The order they appear in Macross world:

PICTURES:

PIC 2....................1

PIC 3....................6

Great job. Very informative.

5. I have every toynami super poseable robotech figure. Except one, now. Two months ago I ordered the limited edition Hikaru VF-1S from a website called Toys 'n Joys. They never emailed me or sent the item after I paid for it. These people suck! I finally called them on the phone to ask why they don't return my emails and why I haven't received my merchandise, and they tell me they don't HAVE anymore of the item I already paid for and that they STILL have advertised on their webpage. So the collection I thought I had completed, lacks one more figure. If anyone out there can help me find one of these I'd be eternally grateful! I don't care if it's loose or even dinged up. Thanks a bunch!

Same thing happened to me about 3 years ago when i bought Zero Gunner (DC game) from their website. I waited and waited, keep in mind that i live in Hawaii now and that both of their stores are only about 15 mins away from my house, but for whatever reason they only had this game on their website and not in store so i purchased it online without asking questions. Finally i emailed them about my game 2 weeks after i paid for it and it turns out they'd been out of the game for going on a month, they didn't take it off their website in the meantime though... genius. Since then i try to stay away from shopping there both in person and online. Sad thing is that they always have alot of used games on sale and sometimes you can find some really rare stuff there too, so i guess it's give and take.

In the meantime you might want to try these guys i did a quick search of what you wanted and this was the first hit:

http://www.circleanime.com/macross-convention.html

Hope they still got em.

383812

Thank you so much Veritas! I ordered one off their website. Hopefully they're more competent than Toys N' Joys! Right now I filed a dispute with them on Paypal so I can get my money back. (Toys N' Joys said they'd refund my money right away which is secret code for "we're not giving your money back for a few years." )

thanks again!

6. Okay in Macross Zero the main character pilots that blue valkyrie, that in my opinion looks better than the VF Zero. Unfortunately I don't know the name of that blue valk. What I DO want to know is - is Yamato going to release a toy of that one?

7. Soooo... if I'm going to head off to college, do you think I should buy it while I still have the disposable income? That probably won't last too long.

383497

If you like Yamato 1/48's, and your becoming a macross addict, I say go for it! It's something you can keep for the rest of your life and your kids and grand kids will think you're cool because you have it.

8. Here's the only Miria I can find...

http://cgi.ebay.com/YAMATO-Macross-1-48-VF...oQQcmdZViewItem

Gawd it is pricey... I dunno. I mean, if I get Miria or Max, eventually I'm going to have to get the other. What happens if I buy Miria and I can't get ahold of Max?! Nooooooooooo! Plus it is eBay. *hiss* I hate PayPal.

I think I'm going to sit on this for a while. If he has 7 available, how long do you think those will last?

383465

I doubt they're gonna' last too much longer, they've been there a while though. And just to add to what everyone else said --- I would never even have known what Macross was if it wasn't for me watching the Robotech cartoon back when I was a kid in the 80's. Back when the only robotech valkyrie I could find to play with was a transformer named jetfire...

Now I can go broke collecting Yamatos.

9. I just posed this question to my source, and his reply is that they are definitely not limited editions.  "However, it has been confirmed to be a short run. Meaning, its a one shot and artificially, it will be limited. Response has been bad so it might be a while before they release more of these."  -Guess it all depends on the market demand.  My 2 cents.... try not releasing everything at the same time!  Give us a little breathing room to budget for these, and Yamato would probably see a much steadier and higher volume of demand for each.  With the cost of these, and releasing the 0S, 1A LVII, 1J Stealth, 1J Stealth Super and GBP-LV all within a months time..... many of us will have to pick and choose which we preorder, and which we try to snatch up after release as we can save up for them.  Guess this actually belongs in the official thread for these new releases, but since the question was posed here.....

Man I feel poor.

10. Contact, Extreme Toys in Montebello, CA. IIRC they still have a few left. I am not sure what the price is but they do ship worldwide.

Hope this helps.

I tried looking them up on Dex online, but I couldn\'t find that store. I appreciate the help, though. If you could somehow find their number that\'d be great! Thanks again.

I called them, and just my luck, they are sold out! Help, anybody.

12. I was able to finally obtain one of these from an awesome store called CIRCLEANIME.COM ---- highly recommended.

Toys N' Joys has still not issued a refund to me, and they won't reply to my emails. AVOID THAT STORE AT ANY COST!!!!!!!!

Thank you to everybody who helped me! Macrossworld is the best site ever created.

13. I'm thinking that they're going to have the 6 episodes on release 1, and then after that they will have 6 more releases each with 5 episodes.

6 x 5 = 30 plus the 1st release with 6 = 36.

I wouldn't put it past ADV. Why sell 6 when you can sell 7 at the same per unit price?

380096

How much money must be sucked out of me in order to be a Macross fan, dangit?!

14. I recently ordered the new Macross english dub. I absolutely adore the Robotech series, and I'm wondering; what's the difference going to be aside from the fact that Minmay's singing won't be so atrocious now? Supposedly the story follows the original more closely but in what way did the original Robotech series stray from what the Japanese had intended? I've got a lot of questions about this. Anyone who knows, please feel free to clue me in!

15. Geez! Whew. Looks like it's money saving time... I'd really actually like to get that VF-Zero when it's released.

377410

YES! That VF-0S looks SWEET!

I'm so excited about that one, and who really isn't.

Save my friend, save save save!

I think that Macross Zero Valk is due sometime around May.

There is still time to save for that one.

Unfotunetly though for everyone, that one seems a little bit more pricey then a normal 1/48. I think it wil cost anywhere from $150 to $170 shipped. <_<

377420

As cool as it looks i'm really going to have to see this one in person before i can justify paying 150 plus for it. Esp. cuz of i've never seen an episode of macross zero yet. :o *Gasp*

377458

Watch Macross Zero. It'll make you feel warm fuzzies all over.

16. Okay, what is the lowest price someone would be willing to offer to sell a used Yamato 1/48 valkyrie???? If people even sell the things.

(Berserk fan)

377194

Heya Guts, I see you edited the first post.

Lowest price huh?

Well I just saw one close on E-bay a short while ago.

1st production run (so there are intial flaws right off the bat)

Broken antenna, yellowing head, paint chipping, and no sticker sheet.

With these problems, the buyer still paid $107 shipped.

Geez! Whew. Looks like it's money saving time... I'd really actually like to get that VF-Zero when it's released.

17. i'm looking for the spare mini-missiles that came with the GBP armor.

i need both large and small ones and everyone should've gotten 4 extras ones.  i need about 8 of each, 8 small, 8 large, 16 in total, please hit me up.

371987

I have some, not as many as you need though. Please lemme' know how much you're willing to pay! Hope I can help.

18. Good luck, even used & stickered 1/48 Valkyries (gotta get he terminology right) go for @ $100.
I'm checking to see if there might be that one person out there who would want to sell one of their Yamato 1/48 scale veritechs, in the 50 dollar price range. It's perfectly fine if decals have already been applied. Please let me know! Thanks!

--Bri

Well. Even 60 dollars would be great. :D
