1. Welcome aboard. I too have a wife. But I also have a kid. Which makes it fun 'cuz I can buy him cool old-school used macross/robotech toys offa' ebay assuming I have money at any given time. (When you have kids you'll wanna' buy'em macross crap too, believe me.) And yeah... yamato 1/48's are so addictive. I can't explain why. I'm almost 27 years old, and I swear every other day I have the thought run through my head ----> "Damn! I want another one!"

Either way, your first one is cool, but for some reason, getting new ones never gets old. I guess it must be like pimping.

  2. Also, for some reason Mame won't "store" or remember that I want a joystick enabled. As soon as I click out of it, when I restart it, I have to go back to the properties menu and reconfigure the joystick, eeeeeeeeeverytime.

  3. There's an option somewhere in there to enable gamepad/joystick input somewhere.

    Since I don't use MAME32, I can't say where.

As far as not recognizing the games... did you stick all 3 in the same place?

Assuming you got them from a decent site, the zip name should already match, and the internal ROM images should match the current MAME version.

If you did, hit F5 to refresh the game list(F5 SHOULD be refresh, anyways).

And what version NUMBER is your MAME32? Assuming they do anything normally, it'll be in the right-most menu, under "about."

There's absolutely no reason to not be getting sound. And I've seen too many people claiming to have the most recent version that didn't to take your similar claim at face value. No offense intended.

No offense taken, believe me! I'm totally Mame-illiterate and I know it. :D

MAME32 Version 0.62. <---- that's the Mame32 I have, and the Mame version I have I got from the Mame website, it's the newest they had posted as binary.... and I can't get it to do anything. When I use the emuloader with it, it won't show macross and macross 2, only macross plus. ??

  4. Alright! Well, after everybody's help, I have a great working version of Mame32 and a front end that actually saves my controller configurations! Awesome. Also, I found out I had to change the names of my macross roms to "super dimension fortress" 1 and 2 to get the directory to acknowledge their existence. So everything is functioning well!

Thank you JB0 and Phalanx, you guys are mega-cool. Very much appreciated!

    Sincerely,

    ----Brian

  5. Nice work, Brian!  Of all the sets I make, the MG1 Strike is probably the most difficult to work with.  How well the custom has turned out is a testament to your skill.  Are you going to customize the armor and RMS-1 nukes to match?  It would be a shame to have that part of the decal set go to waste....  :(

Thank you very much Devin! A compliment coming from you is a high compliment indeed. Put a smile on my face! Yes --- I plan on doing the strike armor, but for the mean time, I only have one extra set to work with, and I plan on using that for the MG2, since it's more essential to the model. Money's a bit too tight right now for an extra set of armor, unfortunately. But rest assured, those decals will not go to waste, they are way too cool to let sit around! Thanks again, Dev!

  6. That's exactly what Yamato needs to be putting out! Snow camos, and lots of them. And better decal sets with more options. They need to get on the ball and cater to the huddled masses of people like me who are strangely addicted to some cartoon that he loved but didn't quite understand back when he was a kid but now understands and can't get enough of so he buys up expensive transforming valks because he just can't stop himself and now wants to customize them.

  7. I frequently find myself wishing that Yamato would come out with a blank, non-painted valk, with a choice of whichever head you want. This would make customizing a lot easier on us. I'd think by now they'd already be doing this, seeing as so many people buy up 1/48's for the purpose of modifying/painting them. Am I alone here?

  8. As a game, the worst thing with Battlecry is the playability/controls. I actually bought it, before I had learned about Robotech's crimes against humanity.

I really want to get the ps2 game. I just don't have a ps2. Yet.

    "crimes against humanity" *laughing*

    lol man that's great

  9. Yeah man, don't get me wrong, thats some quality work sittin there.  I wish i could customise like that.

    403331

Believe me, you could do much better if you were to try, I'm sure of it!!! I don't think it's that great of work, 'cuz only a couple of people have commented at all. By the way - the heat shield has been finished! I just haven't taken pictures.

But I really appreciate the positive feedback; it makes it less scary to try out my next custom. Thanx again!

  10. Well, if you do decide to start transforming your valks, make sure you take your time, and do it right. Getting it done too fast is nothing to brag about, and also may mess up your valk. You can read the how-to guide, but there's no guarantees something might go wrong, so swallow your pride and know that if you irritate your valk you might end up getting embarassed. But, once you get the hang of it you can do all kinds of cool positions and if you get real good you can do it just about anywhere, maybe even while driving a car; but if a cop sees you doing it he might pull you over, or if he's cool he'll give you a thumbs up. Either way, it's worth your while to start now so later on in life you can show your kids how it's done.

    I concur.

  11. Geezus. I thought I had a lotta' stuff but dang. Well, here's my collection count for 1/48 stuff...

    3 strike armor packs

    1 GBP set

    TV

    1 Hikaru

1 Milia (fast packed of course)

    1 CF 1A

    1 CF 1S

    DYRL

    1 Hikaru 1S

    1 Max 1S

    1 Roy

    Custom

    1 MG1-1J

    And that's it. Yay.

  13. Possibly wrong MAME version.

    402975

    Probably, actually.

    402978

Crap --- I'm not sure what version it is, but it IS an older one. I'd better see if there's a newer one.

Also --- I know two sites where I can download Macross Plus, but can anyone help me find Macross 1 and 2??? A billion thank yous if you can!!!!

    402992

Thank you, JB0! I ran the "rechercher" function on Planetemu, and found out that macross has some other stuff (choujikuu?) written in front of it. That was my problem! As for the new version of mame, I wish I could understand the site better. Do I download a binary archive? Source code? I'm kinda' lost. Thanks once again!

    402997

    Binary.

Source is the actual code. It's useless without a compiler, and only really useful with some programming knowledge.

    403002

I downloaded the binary file --- but I have no idea what to do with it once I've 7zipped it. Lost again!

  14. I also forgot to mention, it was way cool finding macross for SNES and NES. I always suspected there had to be a Macross game for them, I mean, there's Fist of the North Star. No Macross game over in Japan would be strange.

    402998

Oh there is a Macross game for nes? I don't think I have seen it. Hey quick semi-off topic, which emulators are good for master system and nes? I was pretty lost with them, once when I tried to figure it out.

    403012

I'm not sure what emulators I'm using (downloaded them all back in 2003) but my master system and nes emulators seem to work perfectly. I could email them to you if you'd like. lemme' know!

  15. I don't speak Japanese, so I'm not sure if getting this game would do me any good. I don't wanna' get stuck with a game I can't navigate through at all. I bought the BERSERK import, but that's easy to figure out... you just hack things into bits and most of the menus are in english. So can anybody tell me the scoop on this game? Much appreciated!
