  1. Thanks Opus! This helps out a lot! So the parts are the same. I will also try to post these pics on the first post.

I am still checking on parts. The order process is not as easy as I antecipated.

I should be ready to place a frist orrder in a week or so.

  2. If rumours are true and Yamato has it's biggest no. of customers in Japan

and the VF-1A sold out we can expect that Macross isn't that bad a seller

My guess is the japanese don't care for the chunky monkeys anymore

Maybe Bandai missed the train just because competition is leagues ahead

The VF-1A 1/48's aren't sold out. At least not around Osaka. As a matter of fact you can pick one up now for 8000 yen. I think Yamato's biggest source is the over-seas market, even though it isn't supposed to be sold over-seas.

  3. Like others have said in this Thread. Macross is not "Dead" here, but under publicised (big time). With it not being on Television this time around they are failing to pick up new blood. What is on TV now, Gundam, Power Rangers and Masked Rider. All Bandai Shows, which are aired and re-aired 3 times a week. The older crowd still digs Macross. But in my partners shop Macross is hardly mentioned. They only talk about the above shows. I would imagine that Macross is the most popular in Toykyo. Which does make sense because the major conventions are there. My partner hasn't sold 1 Bandai, Yamato Valkyrie out of his store to a Japanese customer since I have been going there. One of the reasons we stopped buying them. You can go to Toy's R Us here and find an abundance of Yamato and Bandai's sitting on the shelves. The 1:55 sell for about $25.00 now. (But the boxes are trashed)

It is still popular here and it would sky-rocket if it had gotten a TV slot. It's just my opinion.

I think bandai will re-issue the rest of the line up..as soon as the Yamato's new releases die down. They are watching and waiting like a sleeping giant.

  4. Hello All,

I E-Mailed Jesse about this but he may be out for awhile and won't get the mail. I had my partner call Tanmen today. Once again he aplogised for the delay and assured us that the remaining order will be mailed out by or during October. If he doesn't mail them out by the appointed time I asked him to please contact Jesse ASAP. Once again he is alittle un-easy about responding in English as he is afraid it may come across wrong. :(

But if needed we can make the appropriate phone calls again. :)

  5. The most I ever spent on a Macross item was split in two. I spent $500.00 for a resin kit of the 1/72 Destroid Monster. But the number one was $2400.00 on a Takatoku / BANDAI Valkyrie Lot. ( 2 VF-1S, 2 sets of GPB Armor MINTy MINT and , a couple of Conversion kits and 1/44 destroids...a total of 6 VF-1S 1/72 HCM and 5 VF-1J 1/72 HCM, and VF-1S Strike 1:55)

And I am never going to do that again!

  6. Hello Guys,

I just had my partner get off the phone with Yamato. Kinda hard to get through sometimes. Anyway I have some bad news.

    1. No heads on any Valks. This is new. I guess they had alot of people order large amounts of Heads so they stopped completely. Sorry.

    2. Also about the 1/60 Valks. They have some parts, but only for the recent releases. They are concentrating on making parts for the 1/48 scale only. So it looks as though everthing released in the future by the way of Valkyries will be 1/48 scale. I guess that is good news and Bad news.

    3. No canopy's. This is the 3rd time I have asked. They just won't sell them to me.

    4. No Hands. They didn't give a reason. Seems like a common piece. If anyone needs one in the future I will try again.

So orders will be limited to 1/48 scale. I will be updating a list of available parts here soon.

I also have a request. If someone could scan the parts section in the VF-1S manual and post them here or E-mail me with it I would be grateful. I don't have it in the shop, and I don't have one. I want to do a parts comparison to see if they are the same.

    Thanks.

  7. Hello All,

Thanks for all the kind comments. I just showed this Thread to my partner (Translated it for him too), and he was really touched. And he then surprized me....he said if I wanted to I could list it. :o This really really surprized me! He wants me to sell it. He told me it would be no greater honor than to offer this to someone. (But he won't let me keep it :( ) So the whole kit is going on eBay tonight.

Just to clear up what some of you may think, I had no intention of ever selling this. This is solely Syoji's request. (I think it may bring him pain to look at it  )

Most Japanese don't show very much emotion, but it was clear that he was deeply touched by your comments. And I did do this thread to honor a great modeller. As I get the chance I will clean up and post pics of some of his Macross models that he did.

    Thanks again.

  8. Hello All,

I am not sure if this is in the right place. Mods feel free to move it if I did place it in the wrong forum. It's not talked about much but a few years ago my partner's brother died suddenly. They didn't know the cause, and it is still a mystery. In any case from what I could tell he was just about the biggest collector of Macross, Gundam and some I don't even know the names of. His collection which I was able to see only a few months ago was simply amazing. (It's a Japanes custom to seal off a room when someone dies for 7 years..very old custom). Anyway the room was blessed and opened. What I saw simply amazed me. He had tons of completed models that would take your breath away. they lloked almost real. Unfortunately most of them were ruined due to the fact that they had been there unprotected for so many years. What I did get to see is just about the best cock-pit painting job I have ever seen. He didn't believe in using air-brushes or fancy tools. It was completely hand done. Anyway I wanted to share this amazing paint job here, to honor him and to give insiration to model builders all over the world.

The model is of a Northrop F-5 E Tiger II 1/32 Scale. The only thing completed on this was the cockpit.

  9. Can you explain what you mean about Yamato not releasing spare canopies? I received two spare canopies through HLJ.

I tired to order some canopy's before and they said they didn't sell them. It is one of those unsure items really. I can try to order them. They also said I couldn't order Heat Shields yet when I recieved my order I had the heat Shields. So I will place the orders but until the package actually arrives, I won't know what came. Hope that makes sense.

  10. Hello,

Okay I have gotten the go ahead from my partner to try and do a first "Test" Order. You can either post the part you need here or PM me or E-Mail me (monkeynugget77@hotmail.com).

All I need now is someone to send them to. Any volunteers? If I can send them to one person it will save everyone tremendously on the shipping. Otherwise shipping will start at $10.00 and up.

Here's the break down. I have a general idea of what everyone will be needing. I am only going to work on broken pieces this time. In the future we may try to do the up-grade stuff.

I want to send an order in to Yamato within the next 2 weeks. That will give everyone a chance to get thier order in.

On top of the part price we need to charge and additional $2.00 service fee a max of $10.00. For example if you order 2 parts the fee would be $4.00 on top of the parts price. If you order 15 pieces then the total would be $10.00 on top of the parts price. This is for my partner who will be dealing with the Service Department. And trust me it is not an easy task and requires alot of patience (ALOT OF PATIENCE).

I am still unsure of the 1/60 line and I will find out on Monday when we call them. I will post all updates in this Thread.

I hope this can go smoothly and it can last for awhile.

  11. Yeah! Gimme my 1/48 VE and VT!

(Seeing the just released 1/60 VE and VT) ;)

I personally don't own a 1/48 (Well I kinda do..long story). But I would LOVE THE VE-1 in 1/48. It would be amazing.
