You're welcome. I do know it's limited in some way but I don't know if it pertains to the edition size or ordering window. They've been offering it since January 30, so I would order now if I were you. If it turned out that you didn't like it, I doubt you would have a problem selling it. Well, they are usually made there... I only have the green one on pre-order. Really looking forward to it.

I love the packaging. Very reminiscent of the Gakken boxes: http://www.robotechcollections.fr/images_t...bernard%201.jpg http://www.robotechcollections.fr/images_t...bernard%202.jpg http://www.robotechcollections.fr/images_t...ghter%20%20.jpg http://www.robotechcollections.fr/images_t...n%20red%201.jpg http://www.robotechcollections.fr/images_t...n%20ver%201.jpg

At 1/35 scale, it would be about 40cm/15.5 in tall. Not quite Jumbo Machinder sized, but would definitely look impressive next to the existing toy. -

I would like a 1/35 Beta even if it was battloid-only. Due to the relatively simple, straight lines of the design, you could even make it out of wood. I've thought of doing one this way myself, but if someone else did, I would definitely buy it. -
Jenius, you type and type and type and I never get what you're trying to say.

I hadn't seen that anywhere. The CollectionDX article does say that the Aoshima Legioss toys were made in a different factory from Toynami's usual one.
-
I wouldn't expect a definitive answer to this until people have actual factory-produced Betas in their hands and are holding them up alongside the Aoshima Legioss toys. It's hard to tell from digital photos since everyone's camera, monitor, and image processing software settings are different, and there's also the possibility that the paint job the factory uses will differ slightly from this prototype, which has been on display for a couple of years.

It's a book with a message. Why wouldn't the movie do the same?

BTW, if you want to read about the first attempt at turning Dune into a movie, check out this amazing article by Alejandro Jodorowsky about his whole ordeal: http://www.duneinfo.com/unseen/jodorowsky.asp

Yeah, with Rubinstein and Harrison involved again, I don't have high hopes. What kind of stranglehold do they have on the movie rights, I wonder? Harrison should have a screwdriver stuck in his ear for that first mini-series, although I liked the second one.

Wow. You realize that people take offense at the term "retarded," right?

Clarke also wrote the short story, "The Nine Billion Names of God," which was one of the inspirations for VOTOMS.

The release date for the blue Legioss/TLEAD is now March 29: http://www.cmscorp.jp/products/bgex01_regios.html

I don't think so. Gingaio was pretty serious when he told me.

Gingaio.

Huh? I read that next season, it will be revealed that John Connor isn't actually the same one that leads the resistance in the future, so Derek Reese sets off on a mission to pork every other Sarah Connor in the LA phone book in the hopes that one of the offspring will be the savior of humanity.

I got some info from Toynami on the identity of Masterpiece Beta Volume 2: it's the red one. The four planned Beta Masterpieces will correspond to the Alpha Masterpieces: http://toynami.com/robotech_mpc_alpha.html

Yes, but it did give us this line: I nominate chowyunskinny for a Lifetime Achievement Award. You guys give those out here, right? I'd like to find out what color Volume 2 is going to be.

Why should BBTS, Twin Moons, or any store have to honor prices when no money actually changed hands? Nobody actually paid for anything, they just made a reservation which they could cancel at any time, for any reason. Word of the day: entitlement.

So here we are, 2 years later. Given the changes that have happened since 2006, like the sharp rise in the price of crude oil (which affects plastics and shipping costs), the rapidly weakening dollar, and the rising costs of labor in China, do you think it should cost the same, assuming that they're doing a run of just 10,000 (as reported on CollectionDX)? Just curious.

I don't see why retailers would be left "holding the bag," so to speak. This is a pre-order item being offered six months in advance. The retailers base the amount they order on the pre-order numbers, so theoretically, when the stock arrives, most of it goes right out the door. If the price changed closer to the release date, then I could see this being an issue. That's not what happened here, though. The price changed just a few days after the pre-order was offered. I can understand the idea that retailers might sell more of these if they were priced at $80 instead of $150-200, but that's true of everything. They'd probably sell more of those $8 Star Wars figures if they were priced at $3, but they're not. The toys still find their audience. The people willing to pay $8 or $150 for a Darth Maul toy line up with their their pre-orders, and that's it. If companies like BBTS couldn't handle this well, they wouldn't be around.

Fine with me. I hope Jenius reads that last part and refrains from accusing people of being liars.
