I was just thinking the other day, instructions were never finished? I'd just like to make a parts check that I don't have any missing parts. Not that I would be afraid of that, but it's just the standard procedure I make with resin kits. Personally I could use instructions in general too, because this sucker is so big that it would be good to know how a pro guy would put it together securely. I'm not building this in near future, so I'm in no hurry or anything, just a wish.

That really is worth $120 now.
That, plus the price of the toy.

Anyone see these pics?? Is this just a DIY version of the wave sdf-1?
Looks like a custom paint job/mod. And very good one.
-
I got impression the original poster might be looking for ready-made stuff rather than model kits.
-
I find the color change to be pretty subtle myself. I think I'm going to give my current SDF-1 away as a gift and replace it with the new one.
I can volunteer to receive it.

They couldn't reach me here. If they could, they would literally skin me alive. Actually, now I'd have a good reason to take the tattoo, just to mess with HG.
-
Macross logo etc would be one of the very few tattoos I could take. But I doubt I will ever have any tattoos.

Is that the Soul of Popynica Yamato? I want one of those, but I think it won't fit into a Detolf which means I'll have to pass....
A bit off topic in this important thread, but Dante, are Detolfs completely dust proof? I need a display cabinet for my stuff soon...
Oh well, to stay on topic, this is pretty cool:

BTW, in your reference photo in your initial post, the kit in the upper right, what show is that character from? It looks familiar.
Ishtar from Macross II.

I think you are very ready for weathering.
But it's better to do as Captain says and try on a scrap piece. I should understand this myself also...
-
Man you did great work with the model. The clean, sharp painting style suits it really well. Also, I can see your skills improve all the time.
Yeah, I prefer some shading and weathering myself, but that is not necessary at all. Just a matter of taste.

Hi Grayson, I used to have log in problems but logging in to check pm option works everytime. Try if it fixes the issue.

Wow! incredibly cool!

And the quality issues in SDFM show indeed.

They are quite horrible little kits. They're made by Arii, not snap kits and the fit isn't very funny on some ships. All kinds of dents that need to be puttied etc. They are far from accurate also. But nonetheless they can be built to look ok if you're not too picky.
-
Ouch. But, at least they're putting much effort in it.

Monster 404

Funny.

Daedalus, Prometheus & ARMD would be nice to see someday also.

I'd stick with CDJapan. I've heard many horror stories about AmazonJP's shipping with DHL.
Ehm... I hope I don't have to witness that.

Yeah a N-Ger DYRL version would be a Grail kit to me. I am just guessing that in 1/72 it would be big, heavy, and costly..
Ditto. I would just have to fund it anyway. Wouldn't definitely miss on that one. The same with big Q-rau. But DYRL N-Ger is even more grail kit to me.
-
Movie version N-ger is one of my all time favourite mechas, so I give my vote for that.

I'm at a loss though for how to use lingerie ! - MT
Camouflauge netting...?

Where's the Bonaparte option?

Okay, after reading the last 31 odd pages, (and pre-ordering the 25th ltd ed. box heheh) are we any closer to seeing a video trailer of Macross f? (what was it again? i read soo much) oh yes.. Frontier? its been a couple of weeks since the show and nothing yet? This is a bit weird no?
Who cares, when we have a DYRL box!
Question: 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1S Strike
in Model kits
Posted
Hasegawa kits are injection plastic and Club-m are resin kits.
