  1. Macross VF-1S Valkyrie (God of Flame Purple Ver.) with Fast Pack Armor 1/72 Scale Limited Edition Figure

Another Unofficial Transformer version - Evil Jetfire- An Unofficial version of an Unofficial Version:) at this point it would not surprise me it they get a Takara/Hasbro License and just start making official crossovers. If they did they could make the 40th anniversary Jetfire giftset for Hasbro

    production run of 800

Yes, I bought two on BBTS a few minutes ago.  majority of these are going to get displayed out of box with the red version . I'll buy now, instead of through the nose 5 years from now for sealed versions.

Looking forward to kitzconcepts focusing back on Macross/Robotech with maybe a Stealth Valkyrie or Urban Camouflage or something along that line. maybe something new like a Lynn Minmay Version( I would buy serveral) after this to really please the macross/robotech fans who helped them get to this point.

They definitely sold the model kit versions through HLJ, and I have to think they made much more than 75 of each, since I have about 8 of those kits.

I think I picked up three As, two Ss, two Js, and one VF-1D kit, and they all came with the same sticker/decal sets as the pre-assembled one.  I haven't built any of them yet, but I picked them up as a combination future project and spare parts stash.  I think I replaced a couple of broken VF-1J head parts, and maybe a shoulder hinge or two, but sadly they never released a kit in the DYRL light gray.

The semi-irritating part is that they only released the VF-1D in the same tan and orange as the stock release, so I wasn't able to make an easy DYRL VF-1D scheme.

That's possible since no official numbers were given, but also if you happen to live in Asia your more likely to have access to regional exclusives in volume even more rarer production items.  I only know as much as the sources I mentioned. but I'm confident mostly on the 1st version on production numbers. From my understanding the Weathering Versions were taken from piles of early production parts( appearance defects) were they were smoothing out the plastic molds in test runs while the No Painting were from later preproduction parts ran for QC runs before mass production began between model & parts revisions. very efficient way of controlling costs while providing unique product offerings. well practiced example of Kaizen ways of efficiency.

Hopefully some Big Macross Guru will see and fill in any gaps for us in the future regarding NP Versions.

Could you show it out of the box with some poses?

Yeah all the info I've managed to find out was they made under 300 for artist to make custom versions, from what I can tell from reading Here, Anymoon, TF Forums and sponsored Yamato modeling competitions at that time in japan that maybe less then 50 probably still exist unmolested. considering  many in the west wanted to make ultiment 'Fokker or Jetfire' and that might be optimistic.

later they did release other versions but they were not as universal as this one has sticker sheets to be any VF-1.  the later ones were sold as a 'Real modeling kit" you had to glue your robot together from several hundred pieces then paint it.  I believe it was four different versions they only made 75 of each and was a japan release only through the Yamato Store..

Personally I'm grateful I found this one and not the later ones.

Thanks to no3Ljm for the photos I could not touch it as its perfect superwhite & I'm fearful of any kind of staining oil/fluid getting on it.

I'm assuming this is for investment purposes? If so, have you tried to ask around regarding something sealed but missing a serial number sticker? I only asked because before I learned that on comic books there was some issue that has misprints, made them rare.

But if you're really going to put this as an investment, then you can just get another one and have that graded, and enjoy the one without the sticker.

Anyways, after seeing Convectuoso's post above, maybe you can reach out KitzConcept again once everything settled down. Good luck. :good:

That's great advice and right on point. going to keep it and buy another. it could be rare the sticker was missing or they made more then 999? we may never know but hopefully that would not be the case.  I would not say its so much an investment just more of preservation & display reasons. considering often what a premade case costs for popular toys often its only 20 to 30% to have someone give a professional opinion on it then seal it up to prevent further damage.

  5. Glad I reread this thread last night, I sent my Takatoku Variant Strike Valkyrie to CAS to be graded while putting 1985 as the date, but it should have been 1984? late year? they are getting it from Fedex this afternoon.  I got mine from a guy who thought it was used from all the bad overspray, runny paint & poor quality control on plastic parts(factory dirt/dust). it has never been removed from foam I used my cameras I use to check inside engines for damage to look underneath it. never removed so I cleaned it with gentle OLED TV Screen cleaning wipes then it looked a lot better, I sent the grader a note about its condition and reasons(hopefully they are as knowledgable as they folks in this thread). its possible they just archive it with no grade.

Have you opened them up and made sure everything is good?    KC customer service has definitely taken a hit with MY moving on.

However they have responded to the requests I placed just delayed.

That's the hard part I can't open them up, they were only bought to be graded then displayed preserved(sealed). my thinking was to just buy used ones off eBay to display & maybe play with a bit. I have a feeling with as many people opening them up, the sealed ones are going to be really scarce in a few years.

Hopefully no one else has such a bad experience like this.

  7. I often read this forum at least once a week but it seems some of the wisdom ,education & experiences from other members just did not rub off on me enough, was several warnings on this tread, but I didn't listen.!  I should have took the advice to buy from BBTS were at least I could have returned it, but most likely they would have spotted it beforehand.

Got mine from KC and tried contacting them, 5 Emails, 2 phone calls were I was put on permanent hold, two return tickets I put in on the website were cancelled without reason or contact. no customer support and treated like it was a bad deal gone down on craigslist or something.

I bought it it to have graded, but it has no serial number. now I'm stuck with it.

  8. Rare KO showed up today. surprised its still up on the bay for the asking price.

Space Gandam - Robotech Macross Valkyrie KO - VF-1J 1/55 - MIB Box

Is it really a knockoff if it had its own cartoon show & storyline? or should it be adapted as an alternate timeline?

  11. I just got two jetfires last week & two came in today late due to holiday grind. two I got a great deal under 250,  while other two I paid a little under double that. (one has a good box with no flap crease:)) (I had to send a couple back after buying them in the last few months, resellers were bleaching/scotch brite them because they were yellow then claiming they were like brand new, ruining the finish of the plastic & the whole toy. they were not toy collectors, but greedy people who wanted to make a quick buck.  Unfortunately I did not think to keep the pictures)

Condition scale of 1 to 10

    one is a 9.6 Mint, one is 9.0 NM+, one is 8.7 NM, one is 8.5 Excellent+/NM

All have unused Armor, two had all paperwork, two had destroyed paperwork & ruined sticker sheets .

I will over time three will get completed with the correct paperwork then put in repo boxes in acrylic cases. while the 4th will be sent in to be graded loose for display.

All are in Rudolph Reindeer Condition with big solid color red noses.

Will buy an unboxed abused jetfire soon to use to build an Evil Jetfire Complete with box & paperwork.

After that it's all back to Macross & VF-1 :yahoo:

It could be that you had an early release Strike Valkyrie....the first batch were actually Takatoku VF-1S repaints....the paint jobs on these were kind of sloppy....you can tell you have a Takatoku branded version if it has the T.T. logo underneath the Bandai sticker behind the chest plate....like this...

I took it out of storage and it seems to just be victim of bad QC and not an early variant :( I was hoping it was an early edition.

I already opened it twice and just could not bare to stress the box flap again (was extremely tight) next person to open one last time will be someone as CAS or CAD

Outer Box is pretty standard KC fare at this point.   I find myself missing their vintage style artwork on the Hero Valks.

As I mentioned previously I am not a fan of the G1 Jetfire color schema.    In this case though I like the metallic Red on the FPs  I think it makes this one stand out.

I did a quick once over and I am not noticing any immediate QC issues.   Decals appear to be where they belong and nothing appears out of shape.

Nice! I'm still waiting on mine, 1 from BBTS & 1 direct from KC

What's wild one just popped up on Ebay with the guy saying he just got his today & didn't like it

Nice autographed find! Do you know when she signed it?
Now you just need to find the other 6 volumes to have the entire set if you ever wanted to complete it.
    https://macrossworld.com/macross/books/series_comics.htm

Thanks! did not know it was part of a mini series and it would be a challenge to find the others:). not sure when she signed it but I might just join her fan club soon then have her sign a mint copy of it.   at least with this one I wont feel too guilty looking through it.

  15. I got a Macross #1 Japanese Comic in the mail Friday.  it was signed by Minmay & just $20. It's small looking not the size of western comics. not sure who made it? not sure if they make holders for them? its on OK condition 5.0 out of 10 scale, it looks like a book.

Are the KC's as good as:

    -Arcadia VF-1's?

    -Latest Version Yamato VF-1's

    -Bandai DX VF-1's?

    -Bandai HMR's?

The only thing I think a KC is better than is the Toynami stuff. And that isn't saying much!:p

If the KC's are "good". Compared to what? Toynami? "Better than nothing"? I'm genuinely curious where you think the KC's fit into the options available and why you would consider them good. Sell me on them (I do have one).

They are Robotech, maybe the best on the Robotech Side at the moment? that's why I ordered them because I have autographs from all the robotech stars to add with them with photos of the pilots for a special set.

I'm guessing your experience playing with them and quality feel in hand was kind of disappointing?

Your right all the Macross stuff is better in most ways but from a as far as my limited experience can tell just not sure detail wise.

From what you have posted in these pics there really isn’t much more.

Once in a while I would see bagged items, but the baggies were never consistent. Some were heat sealed, others taped, some stapled, and sometimes the bag was just folded over. But the baggies were never the same size type, mil, or quality.

Suffice to say the items had a place where they were set into the foam trays and that pretty much answers your query.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! It does alot and explains why the contents in these vs. the ones I had long ago were of a different quality. ones I have now the tech cards with punch holes are dull dim colored paper with no shine but before they were brighter, more color deep with a shine to them.

my 1/55 VF-1S STRIKE VALKYRIE I had to open the box not because I wanted to but long ago a bug crawled into the box and died on the arm so it had to be removed + plus the tape fell off long ago. no one ever opened it all the decades and I was shocked at the bad workmanship from a chip in the chest plate to a deep gash in the plastic were the heads mouth area is and a big long deep gash running the whole length on the leg armor.  the one I had year ago was NM condition and was 10x better looking, perfect paint, zero flaws.

I never realized until you pointed it out they really just had no great quality control at some points while I have a dozen jetfires that look perfect, flawless paint that came out of the same plant?  the only thing they all have in common is zero yellowing all snow white

I'll take your experience in mind and look for some toys from the same company at that time. something unpopular, no one likes, that has some bags and just shove them in those bags and hope for the best at CAS but I'm not trying to get a grade, just wanting a clean archived label to show its complete & original.  thanks for your help.

Makes no sense to compare to Toynami as those are a different scale....if you are new to collecting valks at a smaller scale than 1/60 or 1/48...it would make sense to wait and see what ThreeZero does with their 1/72 scale VF-1....

    https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/49682-threezero-robotech-macross-toys/#comment-1603591

However, if the KC would be your first foray into collecting VF-1 PT toys, then they may not disappoint too badly...sadly, as someone who has added each KC 1/72 VF-1 into their collection, the worst part about them is knowing that they were better just before the most recent V2.5 version

I was just comparing quality of detail of KC vs Toynami.

I plan on just having them graded out of the box on loose scale for display only they will never be played with.  thanks for advice I am still learning again and new:)

  19. HI Everyone! new to the forum but have been reading it for a few weeks and would like to see if anyone can help me locate some info on 1/55  versions of VE-1 Elintseeker & VT-1 SuperOstrich complete in the box

I have both, but need pictures of what both box's contents look like unused/just opened, exactly as it came out of factory untouched. I want to get mine graded but just archived complete would be good incase they notice any wear. all I can find is pictures of them in gently used ones in the box.

I'm certain I've got a the paperwork but Did the heatshields come in a bag tucked inside one of the foam compartments ? I know my 1/55 VF-1S STRIKE VALKYRIE has a bag with Minmai and it would seem strange they would have left a heatshield in the box to bounce around. I'm just wanting to find out if it was in the same kind of bag? maybe with some kind of paperwork or toy ad?. or was it attached factory to the cockpit?

I had these toys a decade ago and was forced to sell them, now I have them again as I get back into collecting certain Macross/Robotech stuff .

I would be grateful for any help

    Thanks

    Spark

    Mine look like these
