I think you misunderstood what Ledakan43 says, he mention that VF-31 are more like mass produced unit, not AX

He already explain in the movie where

VF-31AX for sure wins against YF-29 is the firepower, since it is much more expandable and compatible with all matter of Ghosts and equipments. It has the new panoramic cockpit that the SV-262 had even without implants and with the Fold reheat system or whatever that is, Hayate did some impressive stuff. Basically Freyja singing, burning her life + Hayate going Seed mode(didn't go Var like in the series) + huge quartz in the 31AX made him see things in slowmo and that performed better than Alto in the 29 I think. Also we see a lot of cuts where the 31AX gets shot and have explosions here and there, but it's still mostly ok, so it is tankier than the YF-29 for sure.

Then how you explain that Siefgried get stomp by Sv-303 yet VF-31 AX able to match Sv-303?

    Spoiler

Surely Sv-303 can out perform the VF-31 since we can clearly see how it is so agile. But VF-31AX having more extra firepowaaa so it can spam a lot of sh*t into Sv-303 face =Đ

There's nothing stopping a fleet from building more Battle-class ships if they feel the need or desire to.  The City type has docks that could support up to three of them.

It may be an animation issue, but the Macross 5 fleet in Macross 7 appears to have more than one Battle-class ship in this scene from the series: http://www.macross2.net/m3/macross7/newmacross5/macross5-fleet.jpg

I agree, because having a bunch of Battle-class mean they have to animate all the firing sequences of iconic “Macross Cannon” lol

There are some provisions in the designation system in Macross for there to be multiple Battle-class ships associated with a fleet.

I assume that is too much cost to build. Instead they only have Battle-class Macross as their flagship and the ultimate weapon of a fleet. So they coming with a plan to make small Variable Space Battlecarrier like Macross Quarter-class which is cheap, powerful platform that can host up to 4-5 VF squadron and personnel issue is not a big deal anymore. This concept is so effective that they can have such a powerful firepower in massive number of a fleet but the cost is still not high as build a Battle-class, thus that Macross Quarter-class can be build onboard a fleet.

In Macross Frontier as we all know Macross 21 and Macross 25 were sister to each other because they were build as the same 204x era class but General Galaxy take full internal rework of Macross Galaxy so they just look the same but different inside

    Spoiler

I forgot to pointed it out too that the original builder of all Macross were OTEC company so General Galaxy just slammed a bunch of their tech, fund a lot of money and buy all of its government then made it their own industrial fleet without upsetting the NUN government. That make sense because all of the escort ships in Galaxy fleet were different from those widely use Stealth Cruiser and Northampton Frigate, ARMD etc.

Macross 13 aka Battle 13 is a thing. Fielded by Earth or Federal NUNS. In 2050-51 Macross 13 was taken over by Earth supremacists and had to be destroyed.

In 2059 Kim Kabirov is in command of Macross 13. These things are expensive but remember who builds them, General Galaxy. Macross  7 Fleet was constructing a new Battle 7 after the original  was lost as seen in MD7.

Megacorps fund fleets. Megacorps can also buy a Macross from the local government  like in Macross E.

The decks may indicate the wreck of Battle Galaxy may have been recovered , sold off and refurbished.

    Spoiler

Yea but if I remember right the Macross 7 internal and hull is still in one piece and they just have to recovered it then fix it. Since building a massive ship like that with barely nothing but with just handful resources onboard Islands is unrealistic to be honest. As in Macross E yes they can purchase a Macross through local Government since it a small, or old decommissioned Macross class Battleship since Battle-class is only use for fleet scale and having a Battle-class with only handful of personnel in local company branch is unnecessary and it cost in maintenance will go over head. I will stay with my "NUNS backing Heimdall theory" for now since it still lack of information material to made conclusion. In Macross Frontier as we all know Macross 21 and Macross 25 were sister to each other because they were build as the same 204x era class but General Galaxy take full internal rework of Macross Galaxy so they just look the same but different inside

  6. Wow, a so detailed post as what I expected as you @Seto Kaiba. First Gen Macross class is big and bulky Battleship but as 206x era it would considered as obsolete since NUNS has newer Battle-class Macross which is more powerful and carrier capable than First Generation. So if I was the NUNS itself I wouldn't let a state of art Battleship design to any non-government corporations that easy.

    Spoiler

Yes Battle Galaxy was destroyed so if we think Battle Astrea is a new commissioned Battle-class Macross with recommissioned hull number 21 it will be legit

Yea, and Eplison Foundation is still smaller than NUNS and affect by the laws so they can not have and can not produce/repair/assembly a Battle-class Macross then refitting it with Protoculture stuffs like in the movie. Or my theories are: They retrieve the Battle Galaxy with scraping contract they get from NUNS, but they cant repair it without NUNS permission because they dont have the right to repair and must have send it back to Eden where the OTEC factory is since it is too heavily damage from Battle Frontier final Daedalus Attack. Since Eplison is a trading foundation, they still can not purchase the scrap of Battle 21, its top secret and belong to OTEC.

Conclusion is: NUNS is evil and want to overthrow Lady M but doesnt want to do dirty job so they established Heimdall Organization to do that and provide them with a massively powerful Battle-class Macross to punch through fiercest enemies: Xaos, which is currently under Lady M command, and local NUNS forces through the hand of Epsilon Foundation. Its a massive plot hole right there !!!!!

Well, my brain is kind overloaded from overthinking

What am I supposed to say XD, in Poland there has been no anime in theaters for over a dozen years (not counting ghibli films)

Back in those days, when covid still not a big deal, my country Vietname bought a lot of new anime movie licenses and published it. I remember there were Fate, Violet Evergardern, One Piece, etc. But never been Macross, kinda sad

Got a bit of applause when the curtain dropped too - a lot of teary eyes in the audience.

Just about to head out for a 3rd viewing, with a 4th penciled in for tomorrow. 🙂
(Which sounds like more that it is since I know of at least one person who saw it 5 times on opening day alone ^^;)

Mannn, i just hope someone buy the license and publish it in my country theaters

  11. Just wonder

    Spoiler

How the heck that a faction like Heimdall can actually has a Batte-class Macross that only made by UNG and NUNS for massive immigrant's fleets ? Notice that the Battle-class Macross do co-provide energy for Islands. Since contracted military services like SMS and Xaos can only afford smaller Macross class Battleship due to it cost and somewhat another reason like the corporations will be restricted by the laws.

NUNS must has involve in this mess ;\

Correct me if im wrong guys, this is just my own theories

Got this to finally work now so let me try and answer some questions based on what i understood:

    - The main enemy is Heimdall(spelling?), with tech from Epsilon, who is trying to overthrow Lady M since they believe Lady M has been the person controlling the whole galaxy from the background.
    - The SV-303 is a Ghost that is controlled by the Fold Wave of the Siren Delta System.  Instead of micro missiles, the SV-303 is able to send out micro Ghosts. Since Heimdall is sponsored by Epsilon, it is very safe to assume it is Epsilon tech(just like SV-262).
    - The Siren Delta system itself is a next gen version of Sharon Apple combined with the DNA of the Star Singer(which was stolen by the rogue NUNS person, who defected to Epsilon) in baby form. After experiencing Walkure's concert first hand, it created Yami Q Ray as a counter.
    - The mecha looking exoskeleton thingy was disguised as a NUNS engineer, most probably Epsilon tech, that Heimdall sent to intrude in Macross Gigasion. It basically broke Arad and left him out of duty for the rest of the movie.
    - The orange gray Ghost we see in one of the trailers are called Hyper Ghost, and is part of Macross Gigasion's arsenal. In the final battle after Hayate purged his armor(leaving only the back cannon), it gattai-ed with the 31AX ala Lil'Drakkens to provide extra firepower.

I understand Japanese but not all their Fold tech mumbo jumbo so take this with some grain of salt
    - From what I understood Lady M created and has been communicating with Xaos with some Fold wave communication that is encoded. This communication was intercepted by Heimdall and that's why they are able to find the location of the Megaroad-1 and Macross Gigasion.
    - Basically using Siren Delta System combined with the power of the Protoculture ruins of the Brisingr cluster, Heimdall planned to Fold the Megaroad-1 right in front of it and blast it away with the Battle Astrea's cannons.

Wow, thanks for the info, now i can rest peacefully

If the spoilers are true, the writing is bad enough that you're gonna see me say a lot worse when I finally get my hands on this movie.  I really hope the writers came up with a better plot than what this sounds like.

The writing in Delta was substandard from the outset but these hopefully incorrect spoilers make it sound like it ought to be retitled Absolute Trainwreck!!!!!!.

Ooof, but I like the visual but not CGI characters scenes

In short, Freyja will join the show despite its crystallization, thanks to which the new enemy (Heimdall organization) loses.  The goal of this organization is to recover the Megaroad 1 ship from the dimensional error and destroy it together with Lady M. They use the Siren system aboard the Battle Astrea for this.  Later in the film, the Siren system develops 5 different personalities, and it also has star singer cells that "match" the members of Walkure.  In turn, Mirage replaces Arad and leads the delta platoon.  Unfortunately, Freyja dies, and with the fusion of cells, a child with a rune is born, who will be raised by Hayate in the future.

    Spoiler

google translated that Lady M is the whole Megaroad 1 stuck in dimensional error and directing Xaos via fold communication method ???
