Hm. So the NUNS have different rank names from current JASDF/JSDF rank names?
And why NUNS anyway?
-
Skystriker.

I really like the lo-viz look. I may grab one of these on clearance and do some repainting.

Which is which?

How long did it take to reverse-engineer the OT that was found? Materials science and understanding of quantum mechanics certainly took a couple of orders of magnitude's leap; but how long would that have taken to become anything practical? I recall Star Trek IV when Scotty showed the chemical arrangement of transparent aluminum: "It'll take years to figure out the dynamics of this matrix."

RG here too. Why mess with something iconic?

Hi! How have you been doing?
-
Cynically? Money.
I believe Anno also said that when he was done with the Rebuilds, he was pretty much done with the series himself, but he left the door open for other creators to do as they wanted with the Eva Universe, as happens with Gundam. So I suppose this is the first example.

What was the Bandai reveal?

I recall, years ago on this very thread, the one of the Master Files talked about OT as a whole, and apparently went into some depth on their superior screw fastener geometry and tech. I was wondering, given modern additive manufacturing methods, if those lauded screw designs could be made now and if they are indeed better than what we have now.

The name, sure...

Looks like something Big Firebird Toys would have done.

Hey, @Xigfrid, are you still in business, so to speak?

Is it me, or does it have kind of a Lego vibe going on?
No, I see where you're coming from what with the colors and stuff like the wingtip guns on forward-swept wings. Also the shoulder missiles kinda look like red flat pieces.

Macross Frontier the Wings of Goodbye: hero vehicle is a one-off prototype of God-like destructive power crammed to the gills with Fold Quartz of such size and purity that it can only be harvested from Vajra Queens which are themselves extraordinarily rare and ridiculously dangerous to kill.
Said hero completely destroys vehicle while saving the day.

Thanks for the update!! Very glad I got my name in, this will be amazing!

I remember watching the DVDs of Gasaraki many moons ago and in the extras the mechanical designers talked about how they had to justify there being mecha in the story, when on its face a mecha isn't a great weapons platform or military vehicle, as tanks are smaller, cheaper, and much easier to conceal; so they leaned hard into the Mecha's superior mobility and dexterity. They also made them able to be solo-piloted by having a dedicated computer and sensor system handle all the actual motion of the mecha, all the pilot has to do is point the thing in a direction and the mecha will go there adjusting its speed, balance, and gait automatically.

Let me know when you're ready to sell, @mikeszekely. I've always preferred MMC and I always regretted not having Bruticus as a kid. Thanks!

Damn, they're making it REALLY hard to not get that HISS.

I've never transformed mine, and I won't. Can't be bothered, and this stuff makes me more paranoid to try.

Honestly? The 5000 is niche enough that they should release the M7 version, then release an Assembly Kit version. It should be cheaper for them since they don't have to pay for assembly and paint, and the hard-core fan would get the scheme they want.

David Dastmalchian look like he's playing Raul Julia playing M. Bison.
I have very little hope for this movie.

None. Their existing VF-1 releases have been delayed for a year or more. The SDF was the last thing they put out, I believe last month.
