  1. If your in Shinjuku there is a area of shops right by the Skyscraper district that has about three "Yodabashi Camera" shops any ways the one you looking for is is next to a shop that sells games comsole stuff it has lcds in front of the shop that show the lasted games videos and demos etc cant remember its name although I spent a small fortune in there. Anyways next door there is a toy shop that sell the Hasegawa stuff and also Yamoto in its basment cant remember its Engrish name but i will post a pic of the price tag so any Japanese speakers might be able to tell you what its called just as soon as my camera is charged up. There is also a comic shop above one of the REcycle shops that sell some Transformers Gundam and Macross as well.

There were other shops that sell stuff but these 3 were the best I found in Shinjuku.

Akihabara is awesome and you have to visit it. Right at the oposite end to the Electric town station about a mile up is a huge toy store called Yamashiroya its about 5 floors I think youcould say is a cross between Toys R Us and Forbiden planet If you go there head straight for the stairs and go up

Shibuya just for info is the place where the really big Zerbra crossing is ( the one in the end credits in Macross seven)

Also the skyline ( 1980`s) Shinjuku skyscraper district was used in the crash sequence for the SDF1 (the bit where the shock wave knocks over buildings).

  2. Hi all~

I was wondering if anyone could point out a good toy store in tokyo.. looking for mostly macross stuff but other cool stuff wouldn't hurt.

    thanks!

Mandrake in Shibuya is great has lots of Macross and Transformers and Acres of Comics and other Manga you can spend days in there.

Also there are loads of shops in Akihabara a few train stops from Tokyo or Shinjuku Where i normally stay.

I am thinking of doing a Macross guide when I next go to Tokyo.

  3. Well I ordered mine from an eBay shop in August ( I know it was a pre order) , but I havent recived mine yet even though It was shipped nearly two weeks ago. Hope its a legitt site otherwise I will not be happy. It is insured so all is not hopefully lost.

  4. What can I say... I like the detail of models and the structural stability of some toys... merging the two just seems to make sense to me. .

Now if only you could apply logic like that to Women and Macross collections

  5. Well a friend of mine is going to Ottawa for a few days next week. He has asked me if I want him to get me anything. So the question is where can one buy Macross in Ottawa ??

If there is anywhere he should look please let me know, also what sort of things can he get. He is heavily in to Metal Gear Solid so if anywhere exists that also sells M.G.S as well he will be stoked..

    Please help if you can.

  6. Well! Yamato is on a "re-issuing spree"...

    You may never know... :D

Well all those Rare item auctions on eBay will be hard hit if they do reissue all the popular 1/48 and 1/60 valks

  7. Nope - chunky monkeys are a thing of the past - we've got 1/48's now, so why try to make the 1/55's what they aren't?

    326292[/snapback]

Just can't help having much love for these stone-cold, brick-form, valkyries. Customizing these is/was one of the best parts about them. Many people on these boards still seek parts to, at least, do their very own 1/55 custom.

Don't hate, :( , give support, :), and extend an olive branch (advice) to all those seeking a bit of mad-chunky-monkey-madness of their own.

*I can still remember, there were some pretty awesome customs back in the days, and even to this day.

    NB4M :)

    Long live the 1/55!!

Yeah If anything they are a cheap form to use as a custom.

Try your ideas out on a cheap Jetfire of Vf1. If they work do it again on a 1/48. If it doesnt youve only lost a few bucks instead of potentialy a couple of hundred.

Yove goto remember the roots of the Macross toys. For us thirtysomthings the Bandais and the glue to gether kits were all we had for years so some of us are still sentimental about the old chunkies.

Fulcy Your translated guide is right there very informative and I have a copy on my computer for reference.

Do you still have a link to your hip mod guide I saw somthing about it once but cant find it now

  8. Well Ive had one on order for almost 1 month now the supplier says hes going to ship it this week. so I guess he has stock. If thats the case I should recive it next week just in time for the supposed release date of 17th

  9. If your like me you cant get Mr. prducts where you live, and Tamiya stuf is also hard to find.

Well the other day I found this ebay shop, they sell all Mr. and Tamiya paints and loads of finishing tools and supplies.

All the prices are in £££ but they ship international for the same price worldwide. they also do multiple deals so you can buy in bulk.

They also sell Gundam as well..

I am in no way getting bungs or any finacial gains from this shop I just thought you`d want to know about it.

My local shop wanted £10 per bottle of Mr.Color which is outstanding value NOT..

    Mr color and Tamiya bits
