There are some isues with certain service providers. I am not exactly sure what it is but some I.S.Ps do a sort of status check on your connection every little while. This can have problems with the Xbox where as your P.C would just ignore it.
Halo 2 can have some connection issues mostly when you play against large groups.
The only issues I had with live is that ----
1. after not renewing my subscription for a few months ( I was away ) They wouldnt let me use my old gamer tag even though I could connect to live and it just asked me to renew my contract.
2. now I have renewed it I cant get my Credit Card details off of it (they recently charged me for another year).
3. as the Live servers ar all connecting back to the servers in the U.S.A everyone in Europe is slightly dissadvantaged as there is a lag for us when playing gamers in the U.S
This has led to some Clans banning U.S players.
overall its not bad i just wish they could polish it up a bit and get rid of that voice mask thing I hate playing little kids who insist on using the heilum voice mask.
Do you connect using a router or is it just straight into the phone socket.
Using a router you may find its a little better (works for me)
also what speed it your DSL If its bellow 512 then you may be getting issues with your speed vs other players speed (not to be confused with lag)
The Xbox can be really funny about some connections to DSL. Neither of my XBoxes will connect straight to the phone socket but are quit happy to do so if I put a simple hub in the way. the hub has no software on it and costs about £10.
Running through our house network with 4 pc`s and two Xboxes is no poblem.
Like everting made by Microsoft its Querky.
You could always try Xbox Connect its free and just as good you can also play link games over it.

Thigh parts
Some of them come with the little trapezoids some dont.
without
with
Canopies
Some are clear some are clearish some are almost smoked
Clear
Clearish is just somewhere in between clear and smoked
Smoked
All of the ones I have importted fromthe U.S have had clear canopies where as all the U.K ones are smoked
Other than that there does not seem to be any fast and simple rule.
The other Bandai type
Any more info wil be added to this post if and when I get it.

Ok The differences I have noticed (there are probably others) are as follows
All these are for VF1 S types dealing with the various Jetfires I have, not bootlegs. Bootlegs is a whole other area I currently only have 3 of them anyway 2 Joons both VF1J`s and one of those Galaxy ones.
Head antennas
Normal common type Jetfire
and then the Matsushiro type. Which I prefer.
and just for example the Galaxy thingie one
Ok onto the reinforcement part (under the wings)
Here we have the Bandai type with a block
and now the Matsushiro one
There is another Bandai type but I dont think I have one of them. If I suddenly find I do have one I will post its image.
Wings
All jetfires have the same wings except the Matsushiro ones which as Kanata said come with a transfer or a sticker on, mine has the sticker
and now on to the legs
This has to do with the horizontal stripe on the lower leg some have them all the way round some dont
front image of leg with stripe
nostripe front
no stripe back
stripeback
The stripe is always present on the side of the metal parts.

O.k now that I have 5 JF`s and 3 bootlegs I need to start taking stock
I have noticed that there are many differences between the Jetfires leg parts are one area also the back plates where the Bandai or Matsu logos are, the thigh parts are also sometimes different.
Is there somewhere that has pictures of whats what.
What I mean is as Im customing some of my Jetfires (inc Propper noses) the last thing I want to do is mess up a rarer or older one as they/it may be harder to replace should I need to. The goal is to put my brothers one (the first one) back into a box and put all inserts etc back into it as new. He needs a clean up some yellowing but nothing to difficult to sort then when it is finished I will give it back to my little bro. He loves Macross not as much as me but is quite fond of his Jetfire. Hes 30 now and everytime he comes round to my house checks up on his JF to make sure hes ok.

My original point in starting this thread was figuring out what I don't have rather than show off what I do have. I'll happily show case my collection in detail but I REALLY need to find a better picture hosting place than tripod and I don't want to waste MW's server space if I don't have to.
Hi Kanata,
Have you considered www.collectiondx.com? It's FREE and the folks who run it are great. :-)
I got this requirement while trying it out...
"2-5 photographs of your collection, in .JPG format. The image size should be no larger than 500 pixels wide, and be no more than 40k in size. "
problem is even croped low res I'm well above 40k. Maybe 400k I could do but not 40.
I want a red carded boot to looking at it. Is it better than the el-cheapo all plastic with the blue boosters? The el-cheapo isn't even good for parts
a grey taiwan... damn... yet another one I need.
big F Posted Yesterday, 02:23 PMJust out of interest how many of the various Genuine and bootleg 1/55`s are still made.
I know that the Bandai ones are made obviously but how bout some of the others.
Hopefully getting a Joons still in its box soon I would hate to think Im probably paying over the odds for something I could get retail.
I do not believe anything is currently in production besides "possibly" the galaxy defender and the carded ones. As for overpaying for a joon's... you probably are. I started collecting bootlegs because there was no way I could afford the good originals. I simply refused to pay more than the price of a re-issue for something of inferior quality. I think the most I spent on a boot was $100 for my taiwan super AND my boot strike. I normally spent less than $40 for my boots. When I only need one or two I might be willing to spend more just to end this nightmare, but until then...
but seriously...you can get a re-issue super of ebay for $80... I wouldn't spend more than that for a bootleg unless you were a completist hippie retard who had waaaaay to much money. I myself am a completist hippie retard on a very limited budget who has patience...
I feel happy as I paid just over $30 ( converted )
Yeah I have seen some go for mad prices over the years
My Local-ish Manga store sells reissues for £70 which is about $125 U.S
Thats what I call mad prices.

Nice mod might have to do it to mine

Well JBO certainly know his stuff. Kinda filled in the holes in my typing there didnt mean it was actually a star ( I read in a science journal once it was refered to as a "mini star". Most experimental reactors are Torus based so like you say unless somebody finds a dougnut shapped star then then it not star shaped ( may be they could find one in Star Trek). I had forgotten about the Inertia thing in space. Yes Gundam uses the Star trek affect ( make up something so you dont need to explain it).
I cant remember where I read about cracking water to use in fuel cell/reactor applications but it mentioned chemicals and electricity to break the molecules. I have forgotten too much of my Phys/chem days to remember it all now.
All this fusion tech will all come to light once we run out of fossil fuels and the Petroleum indusry gets all the energy saving pattens it has out of its big secret vault.
Would be nice to have a car powered by tap water. Although the price of Evian would make it more expensive than Petrol/Gasoline. Probably better running it off moonshine or Vodka.

The MKII viper is kind of the equivalent of the original Viper for the new BSG; it has the same design elements as a homage to the original, but it's totally different: it looks sleeker overall, shoots shells instead of lasers, has RCT nozzles, does not have the cool looking turbo boost ( I guess you could call the 1978 model the MKI).
Now I see the pictures side by side yes it is a whole lot different. I agree the 1978 is like a MkI. Eaither way the Viper is still sweet.
I have the old series on DVD and also the new series as well both are great in there own ways but the new BSG ROCKS!!

Found these on Ebay the other day and Im watching them just 00out of interest.
I am in no way connected to the auction but just though that you all might want to look.
If you have some spare ones than maybe you should sell them.
Also could there be a oppertunity for Anasazi37 to produce some to sell to all the people wanting to referb thier JetFire.

If I remember for the old days and some long since lost info.
In Battletech the jump jets are powered by the venting of fusion reaction mass mixed with the then super heated air mix. air was drawn into the jump jet and the forcibly mixed with expended reaction mass which super heated it expanding the air molecules to near plasma like temperatures which then vented throught the thruster nozzels causing lift. Also if I remember they used water a a fuel as it is cheap and "safe" simple chemical reactions were used to break it into Hydrogen and Oxygen. Hydrogen for the reactor and Oxygen used in the Jumpjets. Apply this to a normal ish Jet engine and you could run it quite nicely. In Space away from gravity masses and in a near airless environment less effort is needed to push stuff arround. Veriner thrusters are needed for course corrections and a smaller amount of thrust is needed for directional travel.
When a reactor of this type breaches the masive magnectic field needed to hold this mini star in its caged enviroment is lost for an instant the star is free to do what it wants but in the miliseconds that follow it is not fed any sustaining matter. As it is very small it own gravity is not enough to hold it together. Thus it disperses in a hot plasma jet of unused and used matter.
One must remember that these technologies used in Macross Gundam and Battletech while not atainable in todays sciences are all based on sound scientific facts.

There is a mod you can do which I think involves a boot disk and a little mod to the draw and a plastic thingie ( which you can make out of 2mm styreen sheet ) which allows you to play em on an otherwise unmodded PS2.
If your interested I will get the information from a friend of mine ( he mods PS2`s and Xbox`s) he is somewhat an expert in this area.

Where did you guys purchase the japanese version of the PS2? Was there a specific online store or ebay seller? Considering a mod chip will cost an extra fifty bucks anyway, I think I would like to go the route of just buying a japanese version. However, I was under the impression that the japanese version can play the US version games, or does it only play Japanese games?
Bought my copy of the game in Tokyo while I was there only cost me 2000 yen. As for playing it you can run it from a PS2 Harddrive module via a boot disk.
You can get Jap PS2 for reasonable prices in Japan, you need to go to the secondhand places like Softmap or many of the games shops in Akihabra. May be you should ask the Japan residents on the M.W forum to see if they can help you out.
Mod chips on Ps2`s are a nightmare there are loads of wires to solder on very small connectors ( they make the Xbox look child friendly when it comes to modding). I am an
engineer and I would never do one again, far too much hassle.

I alway keep them. Wash em out and use them for mixed paints and custom colours.
-
Ohhh yeah !! get drawing Transformers and I for one will enjoy buying issues with your art in.

Well Exo you can paint you can model you can draw. What cant you do ??

I would like to noninate samurai-m for the 1/60 cannonfodder. he sent
Although I never actually recived it. He straight away offered me my money back.
The fact that it never turned up is in no way his fault. I am sad for him that he has lost out. I was looking forward to the new addition to my collection.
This is the seccond package that has gone missing recently to my address not from samurai-m) so some serious words are going to be said at the post office.
I live in hope that some day it will turn up.
