there was a resin gurab/shock trooper. Not bad. doesn't look as cool as the line-art though
Here is a thread about it:
http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=6063
I had hoped there'd be a picture in that thread but no such luck. I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere.

http://www.matrixgames.com/games/game.asp?gid=342
I see the above states:
Game Requirements
* Windows 2000/XP/Vista with DirectX 9.0ca nd greater
* 1.5 Ghz Processor
* 128 MB Video Card with DirectX 9.0c compatible drivers
* 256 MB RAM
* 2.6 GB free hard disk space
* CD-ROM
* Windows compatible Mouse and Keyboard
Cool... so it supports Vista.

There is also a kit of the booster type out there. See the middle kit at the bottom of this picture:

This page might help:
http://members.optusnet.com.au/~cyc01/mecha.htm
It calles the Eager a Iigaa or Iigau. And says the Robotech name is Invid Scout/Armored Scout.
Here are some pictures:

I also called the local Gamestop and they said they'd have the game in tomorrow. Knowing me I'll rush out and buy it but I would like to know what I can before I do.
Well I called the local Gamestop again yesterday and they are now telling me they'll get the game in on June 2nd, not May 2nd as they did Monday. Has there been a delay? The official website is still saying this game came out May 1st.
http://www.ufo-extraterrestrials.com/
Has anyone got a copy yet? If so where did you get it?
Thanks,
Carl

I find this article:
http://www.thelastoutpost.co.uk/games/ufo-extraterrestrials
It metioned this:
» What kind of computer specifications will be needed as a minimum to run this game?» Pentium 1.5GHz, 256MB RAM and a standard graphic accelerator with 64MB RAM as a minimum.
But even more interesting I see this:
» Will there be a demo before the final release?» Yes.
In the news section of the official site I see this:
July 2nd 2004Currently we are working on more speed optimizations and tweaking the visual appearance of the demo for oncoming game exhibitions like ECTS.
Fido
So is there a demo out there one could download for this game? I'm eager to take a look. I also called the local Gamestop and they said they'd have the game in tomorrow. Knowing me I'll rush out and buy it but I would like to know what I can before I do.
Thanks,

I have to admit that after that opening video, my enthusiasm has been sapped. I'll wait for the reviews and go from there.
I agree the opening video is so bad its actually funny... but I loved X-Com. It was the last PC game I actually had the time to play all the way through. And if the game plays as good as X-Com I'll have to get it.
If I get UFO:Extraterrestrials it will be the first PC game I've purchased in over a year and I'm now running Vista so I've been trying to figure out what the game requirements are. I don't see mention of requirements on the official site:
http://www.ufo-extraterrestrials.com/
Gamestop states: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=646414
Required
Operating System: Windows XP
Processor: Pentium 1.5 Ghz
RAM: 256 RAM
Amazon.com simply states: http://www.amazon.com/Tri-Synergy-18386100...7716&sr=8-1
Platform: Windows 2000
And I couldn't find it even listed at these places:
Not being an big gammer I'm not even sure I'm looking in the right places. What are the odds this will run with Vista?

It's May 1st... who is going to offer the first review of UFO Extraterrestrials?

Have you see this yet?

I hope the game play is better then their voice actors/dialog.

That's like the sweetest drawing of anything ever. The Tread in that picture is also in a guardian type mode of sorts with its legs sticking down (IIRC). Friggin' sweetness. There's also some sweet art out there of super-armed Treads.
I've got this images around somewhere. After reading that I now have to go hunt them down. If someone finds them before me please post them here.
Thanks,
Carl

If you avoid spoilers you may want to avoid this article.

I did a search and didn't see this topic turn up. I'm surprised.
Anyways... There is more B5 coming.
Here is the press release:
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7217
Here is the box art:
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7211
And its now available for pre-order over at amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Babylon-5-The-Lost-T...5926&sr=1-1
JMS has said if this one does well there will be even more. And I'd say the odds of that are very good at the moment. The DVD is now ranked #5 and its only been on sale for 2 days with no real advertising.
I wonder what the record is at Amazon.com for a DVD that is still using the "No image available" picture. I'd be willing to bet this is it.
One very happy B5 fan,

Hello,
I'm thinking of making me an animated avatar. If I remember correctly they weren't allowed here once. However I see several people do have them and all I could find in the rules is this statement:
16. have custom avatars over 30K or and animated gifs over 60K.So is it safe to assume they aren't frowned upon here?
I also noticed the Avatar Setting screen mentions:
Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 200 KB.Why the disagreement between this and the Rules & Regulations post?
Specifically what I'm working on is a smaller version of this:
Thanks,
Carl

By the way... why so many spellings of Tread?
Roger Harkavy has some documentation that shows it started off as TLEAD. Which is an acronym for Transport Legioss Escort Armored Dreadnought.
I've always called it Tread (or Beta, but I know where that name comes from).
And this new line art Graham posted calls it Dread. Which I would guess is short for Dreadnought.
Just curious,
Carl

Hmmmm........possible new Mospeada anime? (not Shadow Chronicles)
Legioss & Tread 2007 designs.
Graham
WOW!!!! Thanks Graham. May I ask what the scan is from? I might need to pick up my own copy.
Carl
P.S. I see you've already answered my question here:
The pics are from the latest issue of Hobby Japan magazine.
Nobody is sure yet if they are from a new anime or not. Hopefully, sombody can translate the text soon.
Graham
I agree... I really hope to see a translation of this soon.

Wonder if they can do something with Superman Returns. :ph3ar:
Just checking out his site for the first time so I can't comment on how good it is but it does looks like he's done something...

This looks like a complete list of films he'd edited...

Right before Ep3 came out a really fantastic CG artist Steve "Coolhand" Tyler (no relation to the Aerosmith Frontman) created this awesome star destroyer model inspired by the early shots of the EP3 Star Destroyers.
I remember watching that thread. I even saved these links in my favorites folder at the time:
Scifi-Meshes.com - Star Wars - Legacy Star Destroyer
http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20177
Scifi-Meshes.com - Star Wars - Old Republic Shuttle Craft
http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21629
I haven't been back there in ages... just don't have the free time any more. Just checking now both links seem to be dead links and even my user id to their forums is no longer valid. I guess if you don't make a post in a year they delete you or something. Anyways... I really enjoyed his work. Did Lucasfilm make them take those threads down? I now wish I had saved all the nice images and animations Steve had posted.
Carl
P.S. Are you sure about the name? I did get this to work:
http://web.archive.org/web/20050909040751/...ead.php?t=20177
And it appears his name is Howard Day, unless that's just his login ID.

Then again I may be wrong about Disney...
Check out this image made by Gabe Bridwell.
Now check out this piece of art published by Disney without Gabe's knowledge or approvial.
There is a little article on this topic here:

This is unused Imai artwork we're talking about? Imai the model kit company? Tatsunoko, and therefor Harmony Gold, do not necessarily have the rights to use this artwork if it was created by Imai.
Roger correct me if I'm wrong... but as I understand it this is material created by ARTMIC. Imai owned or was at least in possession if it when they went under. It was when Imai's stuff was sold off that Roger's friend gained possession of it.
If I draw a picture of Mickey Mouse, Disney does not automagically get the rights to use that. Rights are a bit more complicated than that.I agree its a complicated mater and I'm no lawyer. In your example, I agree Disney couldn't use your image without your permision but I think Disney could also stop you from making any money using your image of their character too.
