  1. And the last in this series of YF-29s - Alto's ride, in Revival matte finishing.

I always feel the 29 looks quite unflattering from any angle around the rear. Even if disregarding the camera lens effect that accentuates it, it looks very back-heavy..

Which is why I like to capture it at angles around the front. Still, I always feel something is off about Alto's scheme, and it took some time to figure out why...

It wasn't until I suddenly remembered what someone mentioned before, either in these forums or elsewhere, that Alto's 29 is missing the black anti-glare area ahead of the canopy. Is it the only VF that's missing this? Perhaps it was an oversight by Kawamori.

  2. Putting it in its own thread, consistent with other HMR releases..

HMR Hikaru VF-4 being reissued, with a new stand featuring illustrations of Misa & Minmay, new packaging, and a colored insert sheet featuring Minmay for background display.

Price: Yen 14,300 (likely already included 10% domestic tax)
    Release: October 2024

Will it be WWM? We'll find out soon I guess..

I do! He's in storage though, I had it displayed for a bit until I got the Bandai MonsterArts figure. That sale price is fantastic, if I didn't already have one I'd definitely grab it now, makes for a really nice display piece.

It does look really awesome, and even the claws are individually articulated for fierce grabbing. I'd get him if I want a monster in collection, but I don't want to get into that rabbit hole lol.

Maybe I'm forgetting things, but isn't this basically where the booster mounted on the Yamato too?

Ah that is true.. I haven't handled my 1/60 Sound Booster, so I just assumed it was further forward.

MonsterArts Tigrex. Love it, love Monster Hunter, easily in my top 5 favorite game series ever, I'm positive I've put more hours into Monster Hunter then any other game franchise, thousands upon thousands of hours over many, many releases on several different systems and handhelds.

Like the way you custom set up the glass shelves.

I’m not very familiar with Monster Hunter property, but do you have Kitz Concept’s Rathalos? It’s currently at 50% off..

Finally able to complete my Zelda Amiibo collection today, with 8Bit, Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess completing the set! 🥵

    Nice collection! :good:

Love the Amiibo line - they are really nice balance of functionality, sculpt, pose & display. I'd sooner display all of them in packaging as they are, as opposed to something like say, a Funko Pop.

  7. Just IMO, there's no hard and fast rule when it comes to licensing. Perhaps we have just been too conditioned on scale-based licensing going by what we have been seeing for BW-licensed Macross toys release. But it does make sense to limit & give exclusivity for certain aspects or areas of the toy to individual toy makers, especially if the market isn't that big.

Perhaps a loose form of licensing we see recently would be for classic Voltron. Not counting kits, there are currently Bandai SOC, Blitzway and ThreeZero (and I think there's one more from another maker previewed - I forgot its name) all making the same thing at the same time. As far as I can tell there isn't anything that explicitly identifies the unique aspects of each maker's in their product literature or description, just their own unique sculpts.

Well, who knows? One more year, and maybe they will finally release Tomahawk and Phalanx in celebration of its 10th Anniversary since it was teased back in Tamashii Nations 2015. You never know, they also might add Nousjadeul-Ger in the mix as well. :spiteful:

Hahaha 10th Anniversary Blue Balls Memorial! Only at Tamashii Nations 2025. :p

    6 (Average)
Items labled as "6" is functional but shows significant wear, cosmetic flaws, or functional limitations that may require attention or repair. It represents a lower-cost option for buyers seeking affordability and are willing to overlook cosmetic imperfections.

    5 (Decent)
Items labled as "5" is functional but shows moderate wear, cosmetic flaws, or minor functional limitations. It represents a cost-effective option for buyers seeking affordability.

Wouldn't "moderate" wear be better than "significant" wear?  Same for "minor" functional limitations vs functional limitations that require "attention or repair".

Seems the description for 5 and 6 should be swapped....

To be honest, nothing beats describing the issues (or lack of them) and putting up pics to back it up....I never had an issue with how Mandarake described their items before....

That is true.. it is likely they have accidentally swapped #5 & #6 descriptions.

On related note, currently their grading consists of five categories:

    Regarding Product Condition Descriptions

Sometimes items have single word descriptions for their conditions. Please use the following guide for more information on item conditions.
Unopened / Not Opened - The item is still sealed, the contents are unused, we have not checked the condition.
Box Resealed - The item has been opened by the manufacturer (usually for a quality check) and resealed, the contents are unused, we have not checked the condition.
Unused - The item has either been opened, or the manufacturer did not use anything to seal the package. The contents show no signs of use.
Opened - The item has been opened and has signs that it has been handled in someway. It may have minor scratches, stains etc.
Used - The item has been opened and has clear signs of use such as scratches, stains etc.

The thing is I can't ever remember if they have ever used 'Unused' for describing a product in the years buying from them; perhaps they default to one step lower 'Opened' category to err on the safer side.

So if they are not fully using the current categories, perhaps they will not use all 10 of the incoming new categories anyway. Let's see when and what happens..

  10. I've not actually watched any trailers for this, even if the promo activities are pretty heavy. I think mostly it's down to superhero fatigue..

Looking at the pics though, at first it looks great to see Hugh in the classic yellow Wolverine costume, but as more pics show up, he just looks weird in it. I think the main problem is he is too tall. Yellow-spandex Wolverine has always been shown to be much stockier in other media, so it looks a bit disconcerting to see a comparatively lanky one here.

Yes Huge Jackman is definitely Wolverine in everyone's minds, he has made that role his own over the years. In the older main X-men movies though, the directors have done a good job mostly hiding his height in his scenes. In Logan, we see his height in some parts but it wasn't that noticeable perhaps because of other stuff happening on screen.

I guess what I'm trying to say that the yellow costume does draw more attention to his height than without.

All the same I hope the movie does well. Not sure if will watch it in theatres, likely wait for early overall reviews first.

Forgot to mention that oddly enough some parts of the video when he is transforming the toy are just reversed parts of the original record.

Look at 1:28 when he is opening the feet to transform from fighter to gerwalk mode

Haha at first I thought that part was strange, as if the feet were spring loaded or something to open. But reverse footage totally makes sense now.
