On closer inspection looks better without the pink stuff on it. I make this statement having no idea what series it's from 😁

Bandai has several decal sets for the zeon units and they’re easy to find. There are other pretty good third party ones at Newtype hobbies. So far the third party ones I’ve bought from them have been pretty good and a little thinner than Bandai ones, but I will say that if you know what you’re doing with water slide decals and how to thin the edges, then the Bandai ones are easy to use. I do think that the third party ones have a bit more variety though, especially for those that like line decals specific to a particular mobile suit.
Most third party decals are coated these days, but you may want to pick up a second set or use a decal that you don’t care as much about to test if the ink is sealed or not just in case
Thanks! I'm now going through decals on Amazon JP. Locally I'm looking at some G-Rework brand decals. Does anyone have any experience with this?
By the way, those looking for Calibarn and Aerial Rebuild, these seem to be in stock right now at Amazon JP. I ordered mine locally, since I still can't forget the recent incident of customs delaying my package. I'm actually waiting on several kits I ordered from local sellers.

I'm looking into buying decals for 1/144 kits, I want markings for Zeon units mainly. What are the better 'brands'? I'm not really familiar what's good or not so good.

I don't have any recollection of those artists in her lineup lol. I checked out the other artists for the Sunday lineup, would have liked to listen to Nami Tamaki's Gundam SEED songs. But I wish May'n had new anime songs for popular series.
ref:
And is Hololive really that popular enough to get the whole Saturday slot? Is it just going to be a screen with talking cartoons? I'm thinking that could get boring fast.

I haven't used EMS for years now. I'm buying more from local shops since the shipping fees have gotten really big. And my packages from abroad also get held by customs more frequently. Thankfully just emails thru the DHL rep will resolve it.

There are 2 I could find:
The first one was a thread I made for a new kit release.

Unfortunately I'm not exactly swimming in money right now, so may have to pass on that one. I can buy several other kits for that price.

Threads, it's like twitter, but you get to automatically follow who you were following on instagram.
Yeah, but it will have Insta/FB algo. I'd rather avoid using those (I do have an FB account but I rarely log in).

Majority of Gunpla manuals can now be viewed online.
Nice!

The icons are actually helpful in guiding you to the preferred action. That said I think the most useful search type is by series. And the Full Mechanics search doesn't find anything.

Thanks for that, though it's already ended. Will be looking for it somewhere...
Anyway, if Twitter really goes to sh!t, will there be any alternatives for fast news/info? I don't like Facebook/Instagram algorithm, so I guess if the worst happens it will be back to stone age (forums and blogs) for me lol.

It’s possible, the other classics haven’t had any additions. They recently hg kits for Vifamwith the Vifam, a Sirbine, the Dragonar 1 for example but haven’t even announced other kits for those, but those were web exclusives. The hg Macross line has so far 4 kits either in the works or have been released, but those are mostly standard releases so maybe since this Scopedog is a standard release they might do more kits in this line. I would like to see other kits for the previously mentioned lines and if they get serious about Votoms in hg, I will be tempted. It’s kind of a guessing game with Bandai in that you sometimes get one great kit and nothing else to go with it
If you’re interested in smaller kits for Votoms, wave has been doing a fairly good job at getting a good amount of the designs out there in 1/35. The Bandai kits look more poseable though. Although to get a good complete scopedog with accessories, it may end up the same price since Bandai is only doing the basic unit and then web exclusives for the add ons
By the way, if you have the 1/20 kit, I highly recommend building it. It’s a real joy with so much detail and avoiding seams and painting. If you’re a lazy builder and don’t want to do all the extra work, you can easily get away with just snapping it up and a little panel lining or add a little weathering
Yep I already built the 1/20 kit. It was good but something smaller is also tempting. I think I'll wait for reviews first then order later.

Any comments on quality /ease of build for Aoshima? Description says no glue or painting needed. I might order it IF I have extra funds in October.
EDIT: and how big is the box gonna be? Will this be HG-sized?

Can I go straight to watching this without having watched Logos?

I only found out about this today and it's ending today JP time, but just in case anyone wants to take the survey:
https://mechasmile.com/moderoidsurvey2023/
There's an option for English. But I don't like to login to Google just to take a survey, so I just looked. If anyone wants to request a series, now's your chance!

I think they did a dull look to contrast with the bright green parts, but you could always try a gloss coat if you don’t like it. And if you end up hating the gloss, you could easily add a spray of dull coat as long as you mask the clear parts. If you’re not used to masking off parts, try eraser putty. It forms like clay to the parts you want to leave alone and is slightly sticky and totally reusable
Thanks!

So my Viola Katze is shipping soon. However, I think the matte look is boring. Would it be better to do a gloss top coat? I don't plan on painting it as I don't have the time (and I have never painted a kit before).

Thanks for the write-up! I've only been to AFA once and I don't really care for artists I don't know, so I'm not really interested in going again. Good to know what's going on there esp. with our favorite galactic songstress.

Wow, Bandai has great timing with these teasers. I'm expecting a salary increase next year 🤤
While I'm most excited for stuff from the OG series, that VF-0D looks really nice.

Cancel 'em.
HLJ just silently put you on a wait list for the next batch.
So I cancelled them. I don't want to have open orders and then find the same items for sale in the mall...
-
Has anybody gotten the HG Aerial already? I saw some pics on Twitter, and it's backordered now at HLJ.
I still haven't gotten my Shenlong and I feel like cancelling both in frustration😩
-
Oh well, I was hoping to ship it along with the items already in my PW. If it gets delayed that far it would be shipping with the HG Aerial. Hopefully my preorder makes the cut for an earlier arrival than the Shenlong.

I'm not sure what's going on with hlj, but i have a friend that pre ordered the rg ggg and they haven't been charged for it yet nor is it in their pw.
On 9/25/2022 at 3:45 AM, Mommar said:HLJ are no longer reliable where it pertains to Gundam pre-orders. If they can't fulfill they'll quietly move your order to their next expected shipment. They did this to me with the RG Hi-Nu Gundam and the HG Nightingale. Had to finally contact them for them to admit that's what was going on. I don't pre-order Gundam kits from them anymore. ItsAGundam said he stopped pre-ordering from them for the same reason.
Thanks, I haven't been ordering much lately (or since the pandemic hit, actually) so I didn't notice. Who's the most reliable seller nowadays?

What's Yoko Kanno up to these days? Those Macross Frontier live concerts were amazing. In my opinion that was the peak of Macross music.
Who else do you have in mind? I'm thinking Sawano would be a great improvement over Delta music, but I'm coming up zero on singers. Usually they do go with new faces but I'm hopeful they make good choices.
