1. I have watched the original Gundam (many, MANY times, from 1985 onwards), and the main fleet to attack A Baoa Qu was blasted by the Solar Ray. The White Base Crew attacked, cleaned up, and truly became the Newtype Division (and Newtypes, you may remember, are all about UNDERSTANDING...). The impression we're left with at the end of the series (or movies, if that's how you roll), is that they're the future of humanity, and have thus saved EVERYONE.

1. Then if you watch the rest of the UC Gundam that you would know that Newtype didn't become the savior of humanity at all. The Earth Federation sweep the idea of Newtype (NT) under the rug and NT like Amuro Ray was seen as another ace pilot. The idea of NT was more of a Zeon idea, and the White Base crew was used in the second half of the show as decoys. They just slap the title Newtype corp on them to scare the Zeon and hopefully attract more attention to the White Base. During the OYW, nobody truly understand what a Newtype is.

As for the Understanding part. In the world of UC gundam, yes NT can understands each other, but that doesn't stop them from fighting and killing each other now did it? Amuro/Lalah and Haman/Judau/Kamille they understood each other through NT magic, but that didn't stop them from fighting or killing each other. Because they were on different side and circumstances wouldn't allowed it. They were all fighting for something or someone they believed in or loved, so they might understand each other's motivation they still ended up killing each other. That's the point. Understanding alone is not enough to stop wars form happening.

Notice that while we did have a disagreement in the Delta thread, I didn't go after anyone on an individual bases on other threads. We had a disagreement on the show we both like ( I guess you just like it a hell lot more than me) in the Delta thread, so what happened in the Delta thread will stay in the Delta thread. There really is no need to have that spill over and taint other threads in the forum.

Agreed.it should be like the original, gritty Gundam, where all the seasoned, experienced soldiers get killed and a bunch of teenagers save the day.

If you have watched the original Gundam, a show that the original Macross took a lot of inspiration (both story line wise and the real robot aspect of it) from mind you, you would know that those teenagers didn't save the day. The main cast of the show pretty much all of them survived, but the point of the orginal gundam is that war is hell, and the biggest achievement the main characters did was just to be lucky enough to survive the One Year War.

The differences between old Gundam/Macross to the modern one is the transformation of the main character from a teenager to an adult. Modern mecha anime is more about staying true to yourself and tried to change the world with (a bit childish) idealism. But hey, it's just that people wants to feel empower nowadays, so it's just more of a culture change than anything else.

And honestly, you've been coming after me across a couple of threads now. I have no problem with people voicing their opinion, but if you don't back off I might to have to talk with some mods or something. If you got a problem with me personally, we can take it to the PM. Stop it with the passive aggressiveness, and that goes for a couple of your other friends too.

The HMR may have the benefit of being a partsformer so it's not too surprising. If it's perfect transformation than yeah, that's pretty impressive.

Yeah, I'm just going with the all HMR are parts-former until stated otherwise route. Honestly, i would feel uncomfortable if it's a fully transformable valk at that scale. It'll probably blow up in your hands during transformation.

I actually got the 171 + 30 transformation with the possible twisting for the legs to come down, and the arms begin probably on the outside of the leg assembly like the 30. All guess work though I suppose.

Was never that into Warcraft...now if they made a Starcraft movie..NOW we're talking.

You going to have to wait after Starcraft 2 and World of Starcraft finishes before thinking about Starcraft movies.

Blizzard activision ahh.....i quit starcraft2 too cos they split the whole game experience into 3 releases, removed LAN, added region lock (not sure if it still is). Blizzard was never the same after activision came in.

Tried Heroes of the storm a lil but didnt quite HOLD my interest.

Hopefully the WARCRAFT movie would be up to expectations. I dont thk wingnut who did LOTR was involved in this one.

In fact it had quite a few issues in the early stages, and was scheduled to be released dec this year instead of 2016. Well, i guess they needed time off to watch TFA too!

Yeah, I loved Starcraft, but I couldn't get into Starcraft 2. The whole story line in SC2 pretty disregarded a lot things that happened in SC. Raynor went from swearing he was going to kill Kerrigan for screwing over everybody and killed his best friend in SC, to I can't do it man I still love her in SC2.

But yeah they removed a lot of online function where you can have fun with your friend, now you have to do it through Bnet for everything.

Tried Heroes of the Storm too. Got bored with it pretty quickly, not a lot of depth to the game play imo. It's all about late game fights, and if you lose one or two late game engagement that's usually game. Not sure if they did anything about that though.

There is a new Heroes of the Storm action figure line by Neca. They're looking pretty good so far. You might want to look into that if you like the characters. Arthas coming out this month whooo.

It's smart of them to push the movie back, no way they can compete with Star Wars...unless they got a death wish.

The CGI looks faithful to the RTS and MMO CGI which seemed to be their goal in the first place. I bet this will look even moar amazing in 3D but ultimately story is important too.

Well, the story is there already (The 1st War). What they need to figure out is how to execute it.

If they include a cannon fodder Valkyrie to the series and it would be the VF-25 it would be cool to have it redesigned for the general use inside the NUNS forces. Since Kawamori stated that the CF fighters should not look too heroic (hence the switch from the VF-19 to the VF-171) maybe the VF-25 will have a new look that tones the angelic wing backpack down. It would be awesome to see a new take on the VF-25 after we knew the Messiah in and out after Frontier (and toys).

However I feel that the departure is probably not that big of a difference since it is more cost effective to just use the 3D model from Frontier. Also the VF-17 needed some major rework since the designs where all hand-drawn and hat a lot of unrealistic proportion shifts between the modes. This isn't true for the VF-25.

That said I really hope the include a third Valkyrie type that is different from the VF-31 and SV-262 to be blown up by the enemies.

Please enlighten me here. I know everybody want the VF-25 to be the next CF in Delta, but aren't you guys tired of the 25 yet? I mean we have a bunch of 25s releases for the last 8 years. Now we are going to see more 25 for the next 8 years? I mean you guys don't want to see Bandai doing new CF Valk like the 21/22 or maybe the 19? Hell, at this point I'll even take the VF-1 as the new Delta CF. Please Bandai! I know you're reading this!

i dont think its a trilogy yet, hopefully they dont overdo and put everything into the first movie..warcraft has so much lore built up that its easily expandable with more movies.

The eye candy graphics look good to go, i think there is a high expectation there as blizzard fans have grown used to high quality in-game cutscenes..

I hope they do the overarching storyline well...time to read up on the lore again, i quit wow way back as i didnt have the time to do quests/raids! Even had to ask my WOW bud whats the name of the castle of the alliance....its STORMWIND!

Yeah, I used to raid pretty hardcore back in Vanilla wow (MC/BWL/AQ/Naxx). My guild was like top2 server wise, but it just got to the point that it felt like a second job to me with the prep and raid time. So I become a casual raider then ultimately quit before World of Panda hit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not really a fan of anime of any kind. I like to see what kind of designs Kawamori comes up with and their execution in animation and I love the background story/mythology of Macross but I've never really like any of the actual executions. I do hope it turns out good for all of us, but as long as I have cool toys I'm good.

I'm excited for this for entirely different reasons than the 31, but I'd say it's on par between the two.

I'm more hype for the SV-262 than I am the 31, just because the 262 is a entirely new design. While the 31 is only half new with a lot things taken from the YF-30. Of course, we still have to see more of the 262 to make the call that this is an entirely new mold.

Besides, I always like the bad guy valk. Most of them look very intimidating and armed to the teeth.

I'm more interested in knowing when Ver. 2 of the VF-31 is going to come out.

That's probably my biggest problem with recent Macross dogfight/action scenes. I know they're going for the high speed robot action route, but can they just slow it down a little? It was like watching a couple blurs blowing past your screen with a bunch of flashing lights going every which way.You can hardly make out the detail of the fight or the combat maneuvers that the Valkyrie was pulling.

Honestly, I got a little motion sickness watching some of these scene in Frontier. Fast and Furious is nice, but Too Fast Too Furious is not.

Meanwhile, outside of Jenius's house.

The feet are turned at the ankles, both at differing degrees, which, coupled with the proportions, really makes fighter mode an eyesore.

In battroid mode it looks fine, aside from the red chest stripes. But I can cover it up with the GBP chest plate... with a crooked 1! To be fair, it's not really noticeable if you're not looking too closely.

I really like it a lot in battroid mode! It's got good poseability and the smaller scale makes it easier to handle than its big brother. And I'm more comfortable abusing it since it's much cheaper.

So... who's looking forward to an HMR VF-4 with an ugly fighter mode but great battroid?
