  1. Cannon Royale, you're a genius!

Okay, my new wish is for a 1/60 Kamujin and Britai! They'd have to be posable so Britai could swing his pipe and Kamujin could play "ride em cowboy." (Did that last sentence sound dirty?)

By the way, how tall would they be in 1/60 scale? I think Britai is as tall as a valk battroid, but Kamujin is a bit shorter.

  2. I got two of them funky chunky 55s...

    Hikaru -1S

    Cannon Fodder -1A

and looking for a hikaru, max, and/or miria -1J. I just want loose ones in decent condition cuz they're gonna get played with anyway. Anyway, if anybody wants to unload at a decent price...

  3. I'm drooling over your 1J... I must say, excellent work. I have the 1J kit but I'm afraid to even start it until I get a few more kits under my belt. I really enjoy these build-ups. I'm a beginning modeller and these are VERY helpful. I really appreciate the time you and, especially WM, take to document your work. PLEASE, keep 'em coming!

Anyway, the original TV version valks have always been my favorites. I have noticed one thing, however. Isn't that a DYRL style pilot in your TV style valk? I guess there isn't really a TV style pilot figure available for these kits. Pisses me off...

  4. Those are cool little kits. I just finished a VF-1D a few weeks back. They are fun to build and you don't have to work forever like a bigger model. This one didn't take me that long and I'm a beggining modeler. I'm hoping you post a pic of yours when you're done.

  5. A 1/72 scale Macross would be about 50 feet in length! It would need a pretty big room.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, the length of the ship is mentioned to be about 3600 feet.

    Which means, 3600ft * 1/72 = 50ft, right?

Anybody know how long that would make the Prometheus?

  6. Well, I'm gonna draw the line here. I'm not gonna get this kit. I have all the VF-1s they released, including the the Angel Bird, the VF-1D trainer and Virgin Road, three battroids, and the M & M double VF-1J set. I have twelve Hasegawa valkyrie kits total and I'll buy anything else they release AS LONG AS IT WAS IN THE SERIES.

They're not upsetting me but I just wish they would release something really new, not just a rehash. I am very happy with the kits I have so far. If you don't have a Hasegawa Macross kit yet, you are depriving yourself!

  7. Well, I'll buy anything Macross in a TV version. Now, I'm not gonna sit here and put down DYRL but I will politefully mention that I much prefer the TV version.

I would love to have the following set in 1/60, or 1/48 but that would wipe me out financially, they would all be TV versions:

    VF-1S Skull One

    VF-1J Hikaru, Max & M

    VF-1A Max, Kakizaki

    VF-1D Trainer

That's the set of seven that define the series for me.

  8. I wish Hasegawa would make some 1/72 Regults. That isn't gonna happen though. It's too much of a risk. It would cost too much to produce and sales are not guaranteed like the valks.

Still, I can imagine how beautiful a set of Hasegawa destroids would look. I can dream, can't I?

  9. Hello,

I'm definitely not a pro but I know that the star in a black box means "apply decal" and the other icon you mention means "remove." I'm pretty sure that second icon is a picture of a hobby knife, the kind with break away blades. They just mean there's a piece you may have to trim if you see that icon in a step.

    Hope that helps...

  10. Thanks!

Tom, thanks for the info. That's exactly what I was looking for. Looks official enough for me. Looks like Crazy Canuck really put a lot of work into those. Thnks to him, too. I'll post some pics of the finished valk.

SDF Commander, where in the heck did you see Max's VF-1A marked as 003? Which episode is that?

  11. Hello,

My first post! Let me start off by letting everyone know how much I enjoy Macross World. I've been checking these forums for a few months now and it was quite a scare when it was down for a while. I decided to become an official member now that everything is brand new here.

I went crazy on ebay and snatched up about twelve Hasegawa valkyries. I’ve never built a model kit so I couldn't bear to ruin one by building it. For practice, I bought a few of those 1/100-scale Arii kits. After putting a few of those kits under my belt, I decided to try my luck at one of those Hasegawas…

So anyway, I started the VF-1A about a week ago. I’m building the Kakizaki TV version of the kit. I’m satisfied with my progress so far. After building a few of those Arii kits, you really get an appreciation for the quality of the Hasegawa kits.

My question for everyone is, what number should I put on Kakizaki’s 1A and where? I know Roy’s Skull One is 001, Hikaru’s VF-1J is 101, and so on. Also, since I plan on building Max’s VF-1A from the TV series, what number should put on his? Max’s markings on his VF-1J say 202. I’ve seen the entire TV series about five times since I bought the Animeigo set and I can’t find that info anywhere. I’ve tried the web, too

Anyway, this may seem like a little detail to some people but I just want to be accurate to the show, lest a floating head appear and annihilate my valk. I guess I’ll attach one pic to show you what I mean. My camera doesn’t take good close ups though. Anybody know how to take good close ups with a Canon S230?

Sorry, I went on and on and on...
