  1. Where the heck do you live that such a rare event occurs without some harmony gold assfrakkery?

Edit: Nvm: Answer found further down as I read.

Well to be fair I think they ordered like 10 units tops (guy says he runs two stores). They have the Alto and 30th Anniversary YF-29 priced the same as the aftermarket so I guess he meant that he will follow the MSRP WHEN the item comes out. The markup happens after a while has passed (just my guess). Maybe I told him abit too much on the aftermarket and may have made him want to sell stuff for a higher price. Who knows :X Gotta tell him though that even though there is a markup in the aftermarket, no one is buying them at those prices (minus the VF-25S, people are nuts)

  2. Well I just went to take a look and didn't really find anything. I noticed that around 3 Yamato boxes disappeared from the last time I was there. Not sure what it was as I really didn't pay attention other than that it was a Macross product. The only thing left are a few YF-19 which I highly doubt would be that much cheaper than anywhere else right now. After the renovation alot of stores did look cleaner but I feel like a few items disappeared too :X

I did see a YF-21 (I think) but it was the sellers personal item so I didn't ask much (not for sale).

There was a shop that had all the VF-25 and VF-27 on display but it was so sad. They were so badly posed that it looked like the head was shrinking back. Should be the renewal ones as the torso didn't look that fat to me like the original. That VF-25S looked so sad to me :( Such a rare gem looking all derped out.

  3. I sent them a ticket like I always do but the customer service rep denied me this time. I did manage to get the order cancelled but I had to resort to blackmail to get it done. Also had to promise not to cancel again in the future.

And now I feel bad.

Teach me the ways. Have to cancel too but they denied me :X I don't have any payment info with them so I won't really lose anything but I don't want to make it harder for them when the time comes

  4. Holy crap!!!!

So at the beginning of the month or so I found two YF-29 30th Anniversary for $110 and $140. The $140 got cancelled but the $110 one didn't and JUST GOT HERE! ITS REAL (I thought it was a scam because no tracking number and was way too cheap to be true)! The box is abit beat up but the manual and all seems untouched (nose cone doesnt have a chip so I guess no one transformed it. DAMN I got a good deal :D

SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! I got the Valk I want the most for 1/3rd the aftermarket price. Haven't taken anything out yet so idk if theres loose parts but I don't care :D CHEAP VALKS!

  5. I'd suggest never to use a debit card 'cause I find them a hassle for ordering things online though it is a perfectly viable method to pay for stuff (with caveats). I speak of this as a customer and knowing how it works "on the other side." Saburo is correct about most places doing a "pending" charge to verify the validity of the card. A lot of these policies do depend on the shop (and how big or small they are). Some shops will charge a pending charge of a penny or a dollar (something small and insignificant) to verify the card. Others will charge the entire amount. That's the idea of the pending charge in a nutshell. Most places will then "settle" that pending charge upon shipment of the product if it was the full amount and within a suitable timeframe (a few days after the pending charge). If it was a penny or dollar pending charge, they would recharge the correct full amount or if too long of a period has passed, they would recharge the full amount.

The problem comes in that a lot of places are unable to determine if you are using a credit card or a debit card during that pending charge (at least easily)...this is especially true for older backend systems. They basically treat all cards entered in as credit cards. This works most of the time but every so often some debit card user doesn't have enough funds or wants to cancel an order/reorder something else and their funds are on a hold due to that pending charge. For a credit card, this doesn't matter since they have high limits that are typically in the thousands. Debit cards vary since it is dependent on the customer to transfer enough funds into their bank accounts.

For a credit card, unsettled pending charges typically disappear/invalidate after a few days or a week or a month (depending on cc company) if the merchant doesn't do anything. This is true of debit cards as well...BUT...it is still a hold on your actual money in your bank account that you can't use until the pending charge disappears. So if you want to use those funds right away, you've got yourself a problem. Now you've got to find a way to do an early release of that pending charge...and every bank is a little different in how they handle that. Some will require you to provide the merchant the necessary steps based on their policies (usually faxing the bank some kind of form that authorizes the release of those funds)...etc.

I speak of this from experience working with SMBs and smaller businesses. I'm pretty sure the bigger places have much more sophisticated systems though.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely keep this in mind from now on.

  6. :*( that sucks man, I will remember to make sure to use the CC option in the future with CDJ just in case. I always choose PayPal just to get the payment out of the way.

Exactly my thoughts although it backfired... Another weird thing that happened is that my last order using a debit card got charged almost immediately then the money came back into my account (no idea how). Guessing its somehow follow the Credit Card charge when ship policy now???

  7. Have you emailed and asked? It's more a system limitation, not policy, I believe.

Yeah, I emailed them again asking if they can cancel my orders and put in a new one into my account without me losing the items.

  8. ^Well... at this late in the game, most of the really good deals have already been snapped up. I guess it's still possible to pick up the Arcadia VF-1J 30th Anniversary version, because that price is really good. I would pick up one to replace my current one with a broken tab, but I doubt I can afford the space. Plus I've already spent too much this month.

Some of the Robot Damashiis are really cheap, as are the Riobots that were on offer.

Already went through it when it first come out. :X
