  1. K monster re-colour in Nov, maybe hints for VF 25S armored movie version in Dec?

And actually this darker green goes back to the Yamato's colour scheme :)

This board is so going down when the VF-25S is about to release for PO (asuming that it does).

  2. Lol that's the Alto I bought for customizing.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-Frontier-DX-Chogokin-VF-29-Durandal-Valkyrie-Alto-Saotome-Custom-/221465550866?nma=true&si=bH6N%252Fu%252F5W7Fhbyca5LpjcKRZ2p8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Loose joints aren't an issue at all as it takes just a screw driver and some nail polish / super glue to re-tighten them. The mistake people make is they try to use the nail polish on the ball joint itself. I instead use small layers of glue and do some buildup under where the plastic friction piece is placed. By increasing the height of the piece you can naturally get better friction when the whole joint is reassembled and tightened.

And I was right! Someone here did get it :D Post up some pictures when you're customizing it. Curious to see what people do to their Valks.

Definitely a great price but I'll stick to hunting down more YF-29 30th Anniversary Schemes. Black and White is more to my taste than Red and White.

  3. Maybe the silver lining in hearing about how low the stock allocation has been across the board is that Bandai will do a another release in short order (vs. a long wait or not at all).

    -b.

Hopefully Bandai does another reissue like the previous YF-29. The only thing is that the VF-25 renewals is about due for its reissues so Ozma is probably going to get pushed back for a while. Also not forgetting the new Macross series coming out. Assuming that Bandai is dipping their hands into the Macross series they'll definitely go ahead with the new series toys.

thanks Saburo, i appreciate it. yeah i guess the neck where the head sinks in during fighter mode i have to be careful when the head is recessed in between the sides of the neck piece. also in the photo on the right, it's blurry, but is the paint on the right cheek a bit scraped off?

All of your concerns make me never want to transform my Ozma after putting it into Battroid mode anymore :X

  4. Agree with the price being high, when they show up at stores like Mandarake and Jungle, but it's not that often that they do show up.

I don't go on eBay or Y! Japan so I can't speak on quantity of Ozma 29's that are available, but I'm quite sure that for those that are there they're marked sky-freaking-high.

    -b.

I'm just annoyed by the fact that alot of the items went to scalpers... I went around asking local hobby stores and only 1 store has them. I'm paying about $200 for the thing so I guess its kinda okay as Im not in the states right now and have to pay import tax so the mark up makes up for it. Technically the thing is still under PO status as it comes in at the end of the month or so. I asked if they had 2 and even the guy was saying the stock is damn low and he'll see if he can get his hands on another.

Talked to another store owner and even he was saying supply on these are damn uncertain. At the end his supplier cut him off so he didn't get any (or else I would've had one by now).

  5. My 2 cents is that I think actual online stores shouldn't sell anything at a marked up price unless its a site that sells "collectibles" and whatnot. Just keep it simple like HLJ/ Amiami/ etc...

Back on topic: Feels like theres so many Macross stuff coming out lately :X My wallet is too dry to do anything

  6. I really don't understand you guys sometimes....

Justifying a new Macross purchase is so simple :D

One for fighter, one for battroid!

    B)) B))

I love my Valks in GERWALK too :(

btw can someone point me to the thread for the previous release of this? Want to read up on it.

  7. I think if someone pre-orders then they should pay. Unless something significant in life happens, i don't think they should be cancelled out of conveniance. Its really our word and a committment. I'd be pissed if someone said they were going to buy an item and then backed out for conveniance after that stock was already allocated for them.

I would agree only up to a deposit (25% total price absolute max). Allocated stock is also easily sold to other customers as we're talking about toys here. Its a luxury item that no one NEEDS but want. Unless its something that really has no demand.

  8. You probably did yourself a favor, IMHO the Alto YF-29 was one of the weakest releases in terms of quality from the Bandai Renewal Frontier line (the 29 being the herald for the Renewals).

I know folks have had some success in tightening the joints, but mine have always loosened right back up. Money better spent elsewhere or saved.

    -b.

If I bought the Alto I'd most likely have left it in Fighter mode anyway so I guess thats the biggest factor for me saying no. Normally I would be imagining the product that I've missed out on and regretting it but the Alto really isn't up there for me in terms of the priority list of buys.

  9. Just skipped out on an auction for a used Alto YF-29 with lose joints for $200. Too much money spent recently :X Normally I would be regretting this decision to not get it but not so much this time. I'll get the figure one day but since its not on my priority list I'll save it for a later date.

Somehow have the feeling that this one went to a sneaky board member here. I expected the last bid to go up much more but only went up by 50 cents lol

EDIT: Still trying very hard to tell myself that skipping this was fine (gotta have limits!) $200 is kinda cheap on this but I guess since I snagged a YF-29 Focker scheme for a $100 I'm kinda underwhelmed by this.

  10. Whats paypal got to do with it?

I ended up ordering more than 1 order because I changed my mind and because I paid with PAYPAL I can't combine my orders. Also wanted to make it EMS to be more safe :X

  11. I'd just like to see the same SDF Macrsoss Story, Same Mecha, Same Everything, just the modern animation quality like frontier.

As someone who has never seen the original series and finds it abit too old to hold my attention (same problem as many new Gundam viewers) that would be great. Kinda like the whole Gundam Origin deal (Macross Origin :D although technically Gundam Origin covers more than the original series)

  12. I don't believe that fans necessarily think of Isamu as NOT around after the events of 2040AD. It's just that we don't see any of the Macross Plus story after the events in the OVA/Film, so there's a natural audience tendency to accept that story line - and all it's characters - as finished. Even though we all understand that the surviving character's lives - hopefully - will continue for a long while, narratively we tend to think of the story as dead; and by extension, we tend to think of the characters as narratively dead (they had happy lives afterward, raised children, had a husband/wife, died of old age). So when we see a beloved character again from an old story that was last left finished to our knowledge, we naturally feel surprise. We might say to ourselves; "Oh, they're still around?!? That's nice to know".

    :)

You phrased this way better than I probably ever could have :D

    +1
