I use to hangout at alt.fan.bgcrisis several years ago. For the benefit of us less fortunate, a guy there sacrificed both is B-Club Crisis and Crash books and scanned EVERY page, including the flaps and spines! Anyways, he made a bunch of CDs and all we had to pay was for shipping.
I had forgotten someone did that, I used to hang out (well, lurk) on alt.fan.bgcrisis a while back as well. Methinks you might be getting a few requests for copies of that CD.
Well, if I had a CD burner, I'd be more than happy to make copies for folks. Or, do you happen to have about 511MB of free space on your website for BGC loving?
BTW, I wasn't really an active member either, more of a lurker. Probably only posted like 5 or 6 times. But certainly took that opportunity for the b-clubs.

Oh God, yes! This movie rocks! Here are a few screen captures from the movie of the wondrous F-14A Tomcat:
OMG!
I don't remember the pic quality looking that good. Well, then again, I've only seen it on TV.

....at least claudia could have been a 'proper widow', or perhaps roy thought that since he'll die anyday, best not to leave a widow, but he should have known that claudia would act like one after he died since they were so close anyway.....
Damn...you made me all misty-eyed.
Anyways, the SDF-1 itself attracted me to Macross. The story and characters have kept me a fan. Besides, Macross has some of the coolest flying stage props to boot.

Big girls eh? I'll try.
Yo BoB, are you drawing any big girls?

Does anyone know of any books, scans, models, or other images of the Motoslave from the original OVA series? Detail type stuff like how it transforms, etc...I'm looking to possably attempt a scratch build.
Both books I mentioned earlier has plenty lineart for your project. The B-Club book is simply incredible. I saw a scratchbuilt model on pg. 82 that looks like it transforms and looks perfect. I IM'd yellowlightman right away to see if he's seen it before. Man, there's a holy grail if there ever was one! If my scanner was working I would post it. Maybe someone reading this could do you the favor. Actually let me take a pic...

MSW: I have high res scans (2450x3450, 2.5-3MB) of the motoslave line art. PM me if you want them.
This is the CD cover I made for the homemade Digital B-Club. The left side is the inside insert, the right is the front cover. (note: resolution is reduced for this post)

3. You can't mix FSW and ASW on the same plane, as the airfoils would become utterly ineffective. But that assumes you're only using the wings to fly, which many high-speed planes don't. YF-19 could use body-lift.
4. THUS: If the YF-19's body itself, or just the non-sweeping wing-roots had a supersonic airfoil, they would work quite well at ultra-high-speed, since the wings would be worthless, but they'd be in their element.
Looking at the image Angel's Fury posted, I too was thinking sweeping the wings aft was for "lifting body" flight as demonstrated by the X-24.

But why? Lifting bodies don't really "fly", more like "floating" decends. This principle was used in designing the Crew Return Vehicle (CRV) X-38.

My guess for the full aft sweep is for storage purposes.

Kaifun is Minmay's cousin, non-blood related though. He's the son of Minmay's aunt and uncle. In episode 15 ("Chinatown") Hikaru and her pick him up from Yokohama. He stars in the blockbuster movie "Kung Fu Dandy" (ep 16) with Minmay as his opposite. Goes on to manage Minmay's singing career. Tries to "woo" Minmay over several times, but to no avail. Thus, he becomes a wandering alcoholic. Rumor has it, he had an illegitimate child with a prostitute. The child later on becomes an inter-galactic rockstar.

Don't bother with the Re-Birth movie. Its just a recap of the series, and the first twenty minutes of the End of Evangelion movie. Not worth its price in my opinion.
I disagree. Personally, I enjoyed the two movies, i.e. Death&Rebirth and EoE. If you don't want to bother going thru the entire TV series just watch D&R, and then enjoy the mindf*ck that is EoE.

Sorry but I have to say it. what a dumb question...
No offense intended by the way
Have you ever heard the saying? "There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers."

Does anyone know how you can become a pilot in Macross? Do you apply somewhere? What do they do in training? Does anyone know the details?
It looks like one volunteers as suggested by Minmay at the end of episode 5 "Transformation". I find that a bit odd. Would have thought military service would have been mandatory given the SDF-1's dire situation. I assume you enlist at a recruiting office.
As for training? Watch episode 6 "Daedalus Attack".

for every single movie that is an adaptation of anything, ppl always say the original is better
That's debatable, e.g. 2001, Blade Runner, Nausicaä, The Hunt for Red October, just to name a few. Not necessarily better or worst, but each (the original and adaption) have their own merits.
as for this movie, it looks... entertaing. but will smiths character is way to generic smith, hes acting the exact same as he did in MIB, MIB2, independence day, bad boys, bad boys 2, etc.Yeah, he's a one-dimensional actor. But acotors can grow...sometimes....we shall see.

1. Toys = $0
2. Photography Equipment = $1,000
Although, my digital camera was stolen recently.
3. Backpacking/traveling the past 3 years = $10,000
But if you combined all my trips, the total travel time would amount to a one year continuous trip spending $27.40 per day on average.

true I need to be less defensive, sorry guys
Hey, APU. Don't sweat it. If you've been here long enough, you'll know being judgemental, complaining, and whining are the official sports of MacrossWorld.
There is nothing wrong with your hobby (passion). For what it's worth, I have zero toys, so I'm a tad bit jealous to say the least. And what do I spend my extra money on? Thousands and thousands on memories. If you ask me, that's pretty pathetic. Because in the end, I have nothing to show for it. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

OK, looks like I'm in the middle of the pack overall. But on this here new board, I'm member #28!

Just kidding
Adopt me please. and I'm not kidding.

Remember, Macross had an international crew! UN Spacy anyone??? So, since the EU uses the euro, I guess Macross would use the...uno?
Yo Roy, can I borrow 5 unos?
hmmm...sounds Spanish.

..Yeah, but how do you say 'credits' in Japanese...?
may be the pronounciation sound cool...
Romanji translation:
credit card = kurejitto kado (note: the 'a' is long)

Where's the exoskeleton that'll let me jump all high and deflect bullets with a ninja sword?

This thread has become gay.
Maybe it should move to San Francisco and marry any one of RC's threads.
hmmm...but are RC's threads really gay? I just thought they are more "girly man-ish"?

Where the heck do you have room for it? On your front lawn?
I remember that behemoth coming out right when I stopped playing with GI Joes. BTW, do you remember the retail price back in the mid-80s?
