  1. FACT: Sound does not travel in space. So Sound Force should have used some kind of transmission rather than speakers. (Hey nobody's perfect)

Consider this. When your Significant Other says, "I love you". Are those literal spoken words what makes you feel all warm and tingly inside, or something else which can't be completely explained? To be honest, I don't know how people take "Sound Force" literally. This is sci-fi anime afterall.

Furthermore, I know alot of people have difficulty where M7 quantified (measured) "anima spirita". It's been awhile since I last saw the TV series, (correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe even the M7 scientists couldn't quite understand/explain it. Just as current (real life) research is being done on the human brain, e.g. MRI scans of the brain when a test subject sees photos of various people (strangers, loved ones, etc), then recording differences in brain activity.

I'll be honest, I like the underlying story and concepts in M7. That's why I have no problems for it be Macross "canon". But as with many of you, I do have difficultlies on how it was presented. I'll leave it at that. :)

edit: Oops! I meant MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).

  2. My suggestion (bash/defense posts) was only meant as a "M7 starter" in the newbie thread. If people are that interested, they can continue to argue and counter argue in the newbie thread. BTW, in my previous post, I should have added...

    5) interested members can continue M7 questions/answers/debates in newbie thread.

  3. I don't think a separate pinned topic is necessary. Here's my suggestion:

    1) post one well thought out "M7 SUCKS!" explanation in the newbie thread.

    2) post one well thought out "M7 RULES!" explanation in the newbie thread.

    3) mods lock any future potentially inflammatory M7 thread.

    4) mods redirect poster to the newbie thread.

This shall be known as the "Fire Bomber" policy. :)

  4. Oh... then for an anime related site... these scores are kind of high, aren't they?

Well, I don't think the survey is very scientific. Besides, it's safe to say at MW, most peoples' interest revolves around Macross and a few token Gundam fans. ;)

  5. Orange Juice is a good source of vitamin C!

    So is an apple...

  6. 70.5% here. Kind of funny though, the less you answer, the higher you score.

"pure" meaning "otaku free". From the website...

What does your % purity mean?

I have received several complaints that the purity test program does not appear to be calculating purity correctly. These come from users who expect that answering yes to more questions will result in a higher purity. This is a result of confusion about the meaning of the term purity. As applied to the results of a purity test, your purity is proportional to how many things in the domain of the test you have not done. The more you have done, the less pure (and more corrupt) you are in the test's domain. In other words, the foo test tells you how pure/uncorrupt you are in the domain of fooity, not how purely foo you are. If the nerd test tells you you're 99% nerd pure, it does not mean you're 99% pure nerd (ack!)

    Apparently, I'm 81.5% otaku pure.

  7. Holy crap! 32 in one day! I got some catching up to do, don't I? Hey, I'm working on a website that I can maintain without eating up board space here. I'm trying to figure out how to lay it out according to geographical locations (obviously don't need a map where no one lives). Keep 'em coming!

Wonder where the two big cheeses are...

How about setting it up something like this?

    http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/

Have an image map of the world, then click on a region that links to a regional map. Although, I would split up North and South America, probably have Greenland and Iceland a separate region from Europe, maybe have Russia by itself, SE Asia/Indonesia could be a separate region too. So you'd have the following regions:

    N America

    S America

    Europe

    Greenland/Iceland

    Russia

    Africa

    Middle East

    Asia

    SE Asia/Indonesia

    Australia/NZ/Pacific Islands

  8. Need 10 more before I can put an updated map up. We actually got some more countries included now. Does anyone know how to post more than one picture per post?

Yeah, you can have more than one image in a post. But they have to be in-line images rather than an attachment (which MW only allows one image per post).

Basically, for more than one image, your images have to be stored somewhere on the internet, i.e. the webspace your ISP may provide to you or stored someplace that gives you free webspace (like www.photobucket.com) then link to it from your post using the "IMG" button. Of course, you could have one attachment and one or more in-line images in a post too. Verstehen Sie?

  9. If you want extras, get the Flashback 2012 and the Anniversary disks.  Well not true extras if you pay for them, but those disks make great companion to DYRL and the original series.  I got mine from Kevin also... :p

I'd just like to add, to get the best Macross experience watch in this order:

    (1) Familiarize yourself with SDF TV, i.e. background, story, relationships, etc.

    (2) Watch DYRL (made for Macross fans, not as good if watched standalone)

    (3) Watch the last 5-10 minutes of Fashback 2012 for a proper ending

That's the best it gets. :)

  10. For my money, I'd go with the FAST Pack over the GBP Armor. The GBP is a wannabe Destroid. I'd fly circles around it until it shoots off all of it's missiles. :)

Option of Shinnakasu Heavy Industry GBP-1S ground-combat protector weapon system with fifty-six 28-cm-diameter Erlikon GH-32 Grenade Crusher high manoeuvrability micro-missiles (twenty-two mounted in two shoulder launchers, ten mounted in two chest launchers, sixteen mounted in side leg launchers, and eight mounted in rear leg launchers), eighteen Erlikon GA-100 Crusher high-speed armor-penetrating projectiles mounted in two lower arm launchers, and six Ramington H-22T large hand grenades mounted on torso; or Shinnakasu Heavy Industry FAST Pack augmentative space weapon system (UNS codename: Booby Duck) with six micro-missiles in two NP-AR-01 micro-missile launcher pods (mounted rearwardly under center ventral section in Fighter mode or on lower arm sections in GERWALK and Battroid mode), and two HMMP-02 micro-missile launcher pods. The HMMP-02 pod can be replaced by the optional Mauler RO-X2A high-powered double-action beam cannon pod (mounted on dorsal section).
