  1. From wiki:

World War Z is an upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Marc Forster and written by J. Michael Straczynski and Matthew Michael Carnahan. It is based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks. Brad Pitt stars as Gerry Lane, a worker at the United Nations, as he searches the globe for information that can stop the zombie outbreak that is bringing down nations.

Plan B Entertainment secured the film rights in 2007 and Forster was approached to direct. In 2009, Carnahan was hired to rewrite the script to the film. Filming began in July 2011 in Malta on an estimated $125 million budget, before moving to Glasgow in August 2011 and Budapest in October 2011. Originally set for a December 2012 release, the production suffered some setbacks. In June 2012, the film's release date was pushed back and the crew returned to Budapest for a seven weeks of additional shooting. Damon Lindelof was hired to rewrite the third act, but did not have the time to finish the script and Drew Goddard was hired to rewrite it. The reshoots are due to take place between September or October 2012.

World War Z is due to be released on June 21, 2013.

    From cinemablend.com:

Saved for the very end of the presentation was the first trailer for World War Z, the massive zombie apocalypse movie that's been mired in release date shifts, reshoots, and constant rumors of friction behind the scenes. Like Pain & Gain this footage could easily be the first trailer, but it also elides plot to focus on juicy bits of action, in this case shots of zombie hordes cascading over city traffic or fortified walls, and Brad Pitt's character being separated from his family (including The Killing star Meirelle Enos) to help fight the zombie plague. The footage opened with a tense scene of Pitt's family trapped in traffic while an arriving zombie army brings chaos, and featured bits of scenes that gave a sense to the film's scale-- an official-looking clock counting down the names of the dead, and official-looking people in a situation room reporting how other countries are doing as poorly as America at fighting back the invasion.

Zombie purists may want to know that the zombies of World War Z are clearly the fast-moving variety, though we didn't get a clear enough look at them to learn much else. Though Max Brooks's novel of the same name is an oral history told through scattered vignettes from around the globe,World War Z seems to have the scale of a massive disaster film, with Pitt's character somehow in the center of the resistance. As much as fans of the book might not welcome that change, a global-scale zombie movie sounds like the exact right way to freshen up the genre at this point, and World War Z seems to contain some terrifying set pieces to make it worth the wait. We'll find out how it fares for ourself when World War Z opens, at last, June 21 next year.

    Fast moving zombies.... <_<

  2. Its history,... already done in the book, so a fact in print.

But as Sophie goes to show, the events in the books don't relate to events on the TV at least that is what I hope in this case.

<_< Great....haven't gotten that far yet in the comics...anyways lets hope it doesn't translate into the show this season...

  3. Think you guys are missing out on the fictitious movie fact that the Naughty Koreans used some type of EMP Superweapon to initiate the invasion. That said, a 9mil strong army would have little difficultly in flying in on gliders if they wanted to. I'm sure the cards will be stacked against the US like in the original. Fighting wars in the Middle East, low recruitment because of the wars, financial calamity, and the Euro's turning their backs on us again...yeah thanks for sitting out in the first movie too punks :p;)

Now I'm not defending this remake, I'm also tired of the lack of creativity in Hollywood...but I'm gonna give this one a chance regardless because somewhere hidden in this movie, like the original is the possibility to wake up that Patriot in all of us. Don't deny it!

    America...F' Yeah!

  4. Found a site that had the trailer for viewing...sadly its already been removed. It premieres with Batman this week. Here is an early synopsis of what was revealed:

We see flashes of Smallville. The farm house. Clark running in a red cape as a child.

This looks VERY different from Superman films of the past

An older, bearded Clark walks a snowy road in an arctic town.

We hear Russell Crowe’s voice talking about children being inspired to greater things

It sounds like it’s cut with Kevin Costner’s voice. Both fathers are giving Clark/Kal advice on how to become who he wants to be

We see Clark being brought to the Kent barn and shown the spaceship that has been hidden there

Clark holds a small piece of metal with the S logo on the end

We’re jumping back and forth through time periods

Clark, as a teen, saved a bus of kids

The bus crashed in the water and we see him swimming, pulling the door off

“People are afraid of what they don’t understand,” says Costner

We see Clark talking to Jor-El. They’re standing right in front of one another, but I think it’s a holographic projection (though it looks live)

We see Superman in the suit. First from a distance and then walking across a snowy plain

There are flashing of Superman flying and one of him catching someone falling off a building

A single flash of Amy Adams’ Lois Lane

One flash has Superman (in costume) — seemingly in handcuffs — being led down a hallway by a security force

We see Clark (without seeing his face) stepping into an elevator and begin to lift glasses to his face

There’s a flash of Clark, shirtless, with his whole body on fire

Another of him crashing into the bank vault we saw in the first still. It looks like he’s been thrown.

I’m not great at describing music, but it’s decidedly more somber than Williams’s score.

The whole look of it has a very dark, autumny feel to it all.

There’s a major discussion in the narration about the world turning against Superman because they don’t trust him if he ever appears.

There’s a flash of Zod, but literally so fast you just see his face.

Apparently someone witnessed young Clark as a child saving the bus with his powers.

None of the trademark Snyder shots in the trailer. No slo-mo or shuttery frames

  5. Had a little Supes marathon yesterday. Saw I, II (Donner Edition), and Returns....I had completely forgotten Donner's ending in II was Superman flying fast around Earth to make time move backwards, AGAIN?!

I'll have to admit that was pretty cheesy. Basically he can reboot whenever he wants to make things right. Oh! I sneezed on Louis' skirt, brb need to fly fast and change the space-time continuum. <_<
