  1. Is the story depicted in the comics still centered in Georgia only? Any hints on what is going on in the rest of the US....or world? Only thing we know is its global in the comic. There was talk of D.C. in the comic but it was also lost. They do go outside of Georgia eventually. No real big world interaction.

Maybe it's time for the tv series to take a break and do some Walking Dead movie or mini-series specials depicting the zombie apocalypse across the globe.... They haven't in the comics, in fact the show did more with the visit to the CDC and webisodes than the original source ever did when talking about the rest of the world. I suggest reading/watching World War Z :)

I'd like to believe that hope is not lost and that there is still some hope for a "cure".....plus what about military and other ships that were out at sea when things started going to pieces?...Nuclear Submarines? North and South Pole? Remote areas of the world? Islands? International Space station? :rolleyes:Again...nada...read/watch World War Z

  2. So I was on the fence with the last episode...and then I thought...

What the frakk??? Kill Andrea??? You've basically killed off a couple of future storylines with this and you lose your only dead eye in the group.

Governor going postal on his troops could be forgiven if he would have actually gotten what he deserved in the end. I guess this is why Mazzara is leaving. A bus load of Walker bait moves into the prison instead of taking a perfectly fortified town? Such an amazing season almost erased in the last 5 minutes of the finale.

I feel the show's need to be different then the original source is treading dangerous waters. Not sure what next season will bring, but for the first time I'm not overly excited about it.

  3. Feels that way, but maybe they'll surprise us with a Battle Royale next week.

I just know they're going to stretch out the final confrontation until the very last episode of the season.

From what I read AMC wanted to stretch the Prison story arc into next season while Glen Mazzara wanted to move forward. At least that in part is the reason why he won't be writing season 4.

  4. Oh, yeah.. for those not acquainted yet.. Japanese games seem to love using circle for "enter" rather than X... it's the same on PSO2, and I have to admit, I literally got stuck in a loop watching the intro for about half a dozen times before I realized I had to press CIRCLE to start the game.

The ps3 still uses X to confirm saving, and circle to cancel, once you get to the save menu. But all the selections in-game use circle to confirm.

LOL good thing I wasn't the only one that happened to...

So I think I am almost done with the tutorial. Seems a group of bandit ships are attacking and I have to kill Valks and Regults. Not sure if that's what I have to do

  5. I'm catching words here and there in conversations...got a funny exchange that I think resembled a scene from MF when Sheryl called Alto his slave, I heard Aisha call Leon, Surēbu...lmaooooo

  6. Just got my copy today...Will be eyeing this and other threads. Good info so far.

    Update:

Hauled ass home for lunch, installed game...don't think I passed the intro scene with Leon arriving at the planet...lol epic fail on my part. Probably too rushed.

6pm cannot get here soon enough!

  7. Unless they actually greenlight this flick, I'll go back into sleep mode. We still don't know how well Pacific Rim will do (Similar genre). Also going into play is WB's new CEO, Kevin Tsujihara. Jeff Robinov (WB's film/box-office chief) and Bruce Rosenblum (WB's TV chief) may decide to leave WB, which would probably further delay things. And considering the Highlander-remake just lost its director, names can be thrown but that doesn't mean they'll stick.

Ditto...why waste time with such a trivial piece of info anyway...we all know that in the end there will be no movie because of the global economic crisis.

When it comes to casting the next RT movie, they can cast this guy as Roy for sure:

  8. A slow start, great middle and one of the Best Shootout scenes since HEAT, Pay back has gotta be on the menu!

Zor, nice video of Kevin Smith. I've seen that before and its a awesome story! (Giant Spider!)

Probably one of the most cinematic episode yet. Action, storyline, plot, character development all there. The Governor reveling in the destruction was sick...and oh yeah...Zombie Bomb...epic!

If Rick's face at the end says anything, yeah...payback is going to be hell!

Hopefully we won't see any giant spiders in any future episode! ;)

  9. Surely I'm not the only one hoping the Enterprise is utterly destroyed, and we get 1701-A in the next movie, that looks better/more like the true Ent-A? Or heck, make it an Excelsior-class----they're already re-writing plenty of future history anyways. :)

In keeping with ST, the Enterprise-A was simply a refit version of the Constitution Class, the only change I want is the bridge to get rid of the Motorola and Honeywell barcode scanners that are used as pointless props.

  10. Finished the book! Simply amazing. One of the best books I've read in a while. So well-researched and insightful. Also very disturbing. i also enjoyed the criticism of our systems and how often institutions end up failing those they are setup to help. Biting social commentary.

I hope the film is good on it's own terms, but that trailer is about as far from the book as adaptations get. In name only :)

Glad ya liked it! Although the movie is going to lack the walker aspect of the Zeds, I think its going to capture the global scale of the Zombie War. I just hope parts 2 and 3 don't fall into the problems faced by this movie.

I disagree. The book was written in 2006, set in contemporary times, and yet all the military can do is use incompetent Vietnam era cold war tactics. Not very well researched, or representative of the modern military.

That was the point of the story...the military had no frakkin clue how to fight the Zeds. I think you need to re-read the Battle of Yonkers to get it.

Im not sure what is it with Zombie movies that draws so many crowds. To me its as funny as crap and the worst possible horror genre ever thought of. Ok maybe evil brought the undead back but this virus explanation that can reanimate dead tissues with missing muscle mass etc is just to frakking funny for my brain to accept. Glad you like it and all, but please cut the crap out. This and the ridiculous copious amounts of vamp movies SNOOZE!

Thank you for your contribution to this thread, a truly insightful and waste of time.

  11. So one snippit I caught about Mazzara's departure was hinted at being about AMC execs wanting Season 4 to be again within the Prison story arc while Glenn wanted to move the story forward.

And from the article EXO linked it looks like its pretty common for AMC to blunder their own hit shows. Reminds me of a Kevin Smith video I saw not that long ago on youtube. It's just under 20 mins but the story he tells is quite entertaining, if not eye opening.
