  1. Pics of the Clone Wars Clone Turbo Tank packaging have appeared at the Canadian Toy & Hobby Expo Fair 2009 Clicky (registration is not required to view the images)
  2. Yeah, let's go rag on the $3 (or whatever it costs in the US) Legends class Jetfire toy. A toy made out of very limited parts at the lowest price point for Transformers that kids could conceivably buy with their pocket money would have some difficulty in capturing the complexity of a Movie design (whatever it may be), would it not?
  3. This is Playmates that we're talking about. Their older Star Trek line had huge heads that were too big for their bodies, making them look like Pez Dispensers (Toy Fare in 1999 or so).
  4. Huh? The Deluxe Camaro Concept Bumblebee had hands. It's the ROTF retool version that has a gun on his right arm instead of a hand, apparently. Not sure about this new one, he has a left hand for sure, but I can't tell if he has a right hand folded away somewhere. What, so they break?
  5. Starscream appears to transform like G1 Starscream now - cockpit folds down into the bottom of the fuselage. His legs are now the engines. IDW artist Alex Milne said that Starscream appears in the movie with these glyphs, and that the Alliance comic just showed how he got them. There's speculation that the new Bumblebee is a Voyager class toy, or roughly Alternators size. So far the majority of ROTF toys we've seen are all new toolings, with the rest being either retools and store-exclusive redecos. There's even an entire price point devoted to all-new designs and toolings. Yeah, Universe is on hiatus since ROTF is providing the realistic vehicles product line again.
  6. Dude, don't over-exaggerate It looks like a fine toy. And what was wrong with the Deluxe class Bumblebee in the last line? it was reasonably accurate.
  7. All-new ROTF Bumblebee with a vehicle interior and articulated Sam Witwicky driver figure. Also pics of retooled Ironhide with new, more accurate big honking cannons. Pics Box pics of an all-new ROTF Voyager Starscream with a much sleeker F-22 Raptor form and a robot mode that actually has hands. His knees were bent too deep for the photos, though, making him look short and squat. Also, a redeco of Voyager class Prime and blurry Leader class Prime. Pics Starscream's cybertronix hieroglyphics are movie-specific.
  8. Rhino's Region 1 DVDs have long since gone out-of-print. Currently, the only DVD sets around for G1 right now is Metrodome (who have since lost the rights to make Transformers DVDs) in the UK (Region 2) and Madman in Australia (Region 4). I have Madman's. Has all of Rhino's extras plus a few of their own (a single commentary track and interview with voice director Wally Burr, PDFs of scripts ect). Comes with a nice little 8-page comic set in 2001 which is (so far) the only American cartoon-continuity story to bridge 1986 to The Year 2005, some nice Matrix Artwork that is placed on top of the DVDs in the nice embossed metal tin, packaged in a mini reproduction of a G1 toy box. Madman are currently the only publishers of Beast Wars DVDs, and fortunately, their versions are by far the best in terms of extras and visual quality. All three seasons have some form of commentary with Ben Yee, Larry DiTillio and Bob Forward. Season 3 has some of the voice actors, Mainframe animators and Simon Furman joining in. Scott McNeill comes to his interview dressed as Beast Wars Megatron
  9. Since I apparently can't post pics of new cast members here, I linked a pic of ROTF Silver Car Man Deluxe class toy in the ROTF movie thread.
  10. Deluxe class Sideswipe toy http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/5183/33cxm5ceo7.jpg
  11. I think that's a just a fandom rumour. I assume the name comes from the fact it's a VERY abstract b
  12. Don't thank me, thank Corey Bauer on TFW2005.com, since I didn't want to gank his bandwidth I still can't figure out where the stuff on the back of the truck goes.
  13. Too bad nobody replied. I myself wasn't aware that this topic was still active How do you like it? I bought the previous reissue of the B-Wing 8 or so years ago.
  14. Here's the comparison between the 2007 leader class, the CG model and the 2009 ROTF Prime, if anybody was wondering
  15. I don't know how the hell they did it. That's pretty damn accurate in bot mode. How is the truck mode? Any better or worse? It still has rubber tires, apparently. The back has that headache rack thing.
  16. According to the deco artist, the reason why Universe Blades doesn't look too much like G1 Blades (specifically missing things like the white chest and blue face) is because he was actually developed for the Movie line, but its slot was taken by the Blackout retool, Evac.
  17. Funny thing is that Blades is a repaint of Hasbro's own Universe Blades redeco of Evac.
  18. Your retail chains are responsible for distribution of toys. Hasbro is only responsible for sending the goods the retailers order from China to the distribution centers, and from then on it's out of their hands.
  19. Be funny if you go to all this trouble and next year (and the year after) Hasbro releases these MPs in cartoon colours. Apparently Starscream did very well (or at least it was scalped so badly that not even Aaron Archer could find one in stores).
  20. Careful. Remember when you ruined your Premium Prime?
  21. So, should BotCon always be in the middle of America so nobody is happy or angry? Seems to me that any location near the coasts will piss somebody off while making somebody else happy. Last few BotCons have been more to the east, so it's logically time for the west. Hell, with it being closer to production, maybe we'll get more Movie prop vehicles this year. I CAN'T BELIEVE nobody asked Peter Cullen to go stand near the Optimus Prime truck for photos.
  22. Fixed the error, rewrote and expanded the text and changed the photo to something Takara owns. Passenger planes are not familiar or really as distinct as various fighter jets enough to the average person to really notice.
  23. It works for the story though (provided that you're playing as a good guy/gal), Anybody leave GNR in the background while playing? I find myself singing "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire".
  24. I believe the BotCon Thrust engines were static and the wings were all one-piece parts.
