Transformers Super Thread 4: The Return

Wasn't Soundwave undersized? He played microcassettes compared to regular cassettes that were in most cassette walkmans of the day. -

On the other hand I question the fact that it appears only north american retailers, of all places, are reporting this news and why everybody is taking it without question. I've asked my toy source in Japan and he can't find anything about it from his wholesalers. Its all rather suspicious if you ask me. -

Dude looks like lady. You know without the bulk on his legs, Starscream looks very girly. -

Mount Hot Rod's gun as a rocketpack on his back, and give him one of G1 Hot Rod's guns, since his fist holes are smaller than the standard fist holes the other figures have. -

Give Bumblebee Armada Prime's big rifle. That's probably the largest caliber traditional TF-looking rifle there is. For whatever reason of design, they mounted his cannon under arm, so to make it traditional over arm you just rotate his arm. His fist will be upsidedown then, but the cannon will look right. -

My link shows all the pics - front package and out of package. For some reason S250 only linked page 2 They're meant to resemble rocks for a reason though - they're kind of like meteorites when they enter Earth, presumebly instead of using something like the Spacebridge. -

Movie Preview toys for Prime and Starscream Bear in mind those are their pre-earth modes when they arrive on this planet. Thanks to S250 of TFW2005 for the link. I got both Cyb Prime and GF Prime and I don't see the pink you're talking about. But bear in mind our own lighting conditions affects how the colour appears to us. -

Make the lower legs somewhat hollow and have the upper legs slide out of them and lock into place. You could do the same thing with the lower arms. -

I'd be very interested in seeing his take on more Transformers myself, even if I don't agree with his changes to SS. Like have him design Jetfire. No seriously. A Transforming F-14. -

Careful with those smaller wings - fold them from the base where they are connected, rather than holding the tips of them. Some owners with tight wings used too much force and snapped them. -

That was the plot of my favourite goofy episode, Auto-Bop. 80s fashion hasn't dated one bit. It was not a very good plan. I am serious about letting loose and having fun. Taking it so seriously (as if they're mecha piloted by a HOT SHOT PILOT IN A LOVE TRIANGLE) will make TF less fun. -

Aww, come on you guys! Have some fun for once in your lives! Get out of the 'Realistic vehicle mecha serious anime soap opera love triangle in space' fan mode and get into the 'Unrealistic kids cartoon about alien robots from 3 million years ago' fan mode of TF! Go Nuts! Have Starscream and Soundwave concoct a scheme where they build a Hypnotic Disco Nightclub of Doom to force people to become unionised labourers in the construction of a skyscraper that does nothing, but are thwarted by a bunch of breakdancers, a boombox and a gay corvette! He's a great toy and he'll love you if you love him -

I want several of the Cybertron basics to be repainted for Classics. Eg, Shortround as Seaspray, Hardtop as Beachcomber, Scattorshot as Warpath. THIS I COMMAND! -

Giant guns work better for Cliffjumper, though. He has a penchant for pulling giant guns out of nowhere. Bumblebee doesn't need guns! Bumblebee wants to be your friend! -

I think its unfair to lay the blame on a (back then) perfectly legal and legitimate decision made some 23 years ago. I do agree that Tank megs is alot cooler than Gun Megs. I await at Titanium Armada Megatron, because all that toy is lacking is leg articulation. Packaging the toy in a different mode suddenly doesn't make it a different toy so that it is exempt from laws and standards. You make no sense. -

Yes, let's go blame Hasbro for operating in a country where real guns are widespread and easily obtained in a time with jittery law enforcement officials worried about terrorists and school shootings. Even though its not unified law, they can't do a realistic Megatron due to law and or fear of possible public backlash if there is some incident connected to their products. After all, G1 Megatron is banned on US flights, and Hasbro tried to get around G1 Megatron by painting him bright blue and orange as based on a scene in the old cartoon.. They decided that it would look like total crap so cancelled that release. I doubt Takara will do another MP on their own soon given their own leeriness of Transformers lately. Plus Hasbro is supposed to be allowed access to whatever Takara makes under Transformers. -

I think its because people are used to Starscream being a swordsman nowadays, since his last three incarnations (even if they aren't G1) have been skilled in melee weapons. Plus as you say, it gives function to those parts on his hips. -

I've been thinking about this, and I think it shows that while Kawamori helped designed Diaclone Battle Convoy (Prime), he had nothing to do with the Diaclone F-15 Eagle (Starscream). Aside from the obvious inaccuracies that he wouldn't abide by in a plane, Prime and Starscream don't even look like they're from the same line. Prime has (in my opinion) a pretty realistic truck mode with a nice robot, while Starscream is a weird very toy-looking F-15 with a robot mode that wears oven mittens. That said, I do love Starscream as a character and his cartoon model. -

Well, except the cost If they were all expensive collector items then TFs would be a rather infrequent and unpopular line -

Wow, I didn't know Kawamori worked on Diaclone Reading that interview, I am not happy that he set out to design a jet first, robot second, and was prepared to sacrifice the robot further to create the perfect F-15. I am sure with his clout, he could do an F-15 Valkyrie project seperately with Takara or Yamato or somebody, and he could make it as realistic (in the Macross mecha sense) as he wants I have no idea if he put the pics up himself or not. Eh? Why you quoting 'freelancer' as if I made it up? I use freelander since I am unsure if he still works at Hasbro full-time (he left during the early days of Armada, as I recall). But he has been doing alot of stuff lately so I guess he's back full-time. Here's an article on him -

You see, this is what happens when Japan makes an expensive Transformer without input from Hasbro - it becomes a fragile collector piece that owners are scared of transforming because it might break or the paint comes off. Look at MP Prime - you can chuck him at a wall and he'd probably make a hole in it. Transformers should be toys made to be played with, no matter how much it costs, goddammit! A fair number of times Takara has complained about having to adhere to Hasbro's US safety standards Well, consider that (most of the time) TFs can be thrown and bashed around without significant damage. If they were made of the same materials as the real vehicles they are based on, they'd fall apart all the time. -

Not gonna happen - its a fake done by a Hasbro freelancer as an experiment or something (according to Hasbro). I presume he was trying to figure out who leaked his real colourguides of Smokescreen and Grimlock on Hong Kong message boards. -
