Thought I'd finally make the move to VR for gaming so I bought a Samsung Odyssey headset. Can't wait to try it out! Not the cheapest thing to buy but not too expensive either.

I have an R&D/Visualization position at work, and we've been playing with VR for a few years. We have them all. I was in the developer preview program with microsoft and they sent us 3 WMR's last year. The WMR headsets (Odyssey IS the best one ;)) are no joke. Better than the VIVE and Rift in the sense that you are not required to set up tracking devices. This may seem like just a convenience thing, but it comes into play when setting up your space if you don't have the ability to mount trackers on walls, or have room for tripods. I find this to be a better solution for myself because if I want to put it away, I can just unplug it and put it in my drawer. One HMDI, and USB is all it needs. Setting up the Rift with 3 trackers, oh boy, you better have USB ports to spare. WMR's are comparable in other areas. If you are in a well lit room, tracking of the headset is easily on par. Resolution, and overall screen quality of the Odyssey is noticeably the best out of all available HMD's. The controllers can get a little funky when they are out of view of the headsets tracking cameras, but that has been getting better with every update from M$, and with developers adding official support. Make sure you have a bluetooth adapter for your controllers, because they don't come with one.

I could go on and on with vr stuff. We mostly create B2B training tools, product prototyping, or tradeshow "experience" VR apps at work, but I get a lot of time in headsets. PM me if you have any questions, or if something isn't working right for you and I will try and help.

  3. Not closed. PM responded to. I am looking into an email issue with the site. Apparently emails are not being forwarded to me. Thanks for your patience!

Oh wow!  There are 6 in the picture? I did not even notice the dark colored valkyrie. A stealth version?

Thank you for the shopping list!  This is very helpful!

Looks likes folk have answered your questions, but please feel free to PM me if you have more. Thanks everyone!

  5. I have the 1701-D, and a few Undiscovered Country BoP's. I have adapters for both, but never saw enough interest to put them on the webstore. If you place an order, I can include the adapters for free and you can let me know how they work out. Send me a PM if you want to know more.

Heh, thanks, but I'll trust the Sweden on this one. Do you (or anyone) knows what's the glass thickness of the Defold Curio Shelves?
EDIT: So I can get similar glass to use Yeti's adapter

    4mm

@ChaoticYeti btw.. that Defold base or adapter, will it work with any piece of glass? How thick does it have to be?

    Thanks

I have personally only ever used it on the Detolf glass shelf. Similar glass of the same thickness would work just as well. I can customize it to what ever glass shelf thickness you are dealing with if you would like to try it out.

Poor cat! I have been trying hard to remove the gun, but it seems mine is stuck in the Pod... Do you have a secret to remove it @ChaoticYeti ?

@no3Ljm great lightings in your photos, I wish I could do as well some day :)

And I want to share some speaker love with everyone. This pod deserves a toy!

As I recall, I had to use more force than I was comfortable with. Pulling straight up where it clips into the back of the gunpod. Hasn't been as bad since playing with it, but those first couple of times removing the gun from the pod did not feel good.

Placed an order for my very first Yeti Stand! Can’t wait!

I am glad you are excited! Acrylic came in this week, and I have been packing up orders. I should be up to date with everyone and ship this weekend for current orders.

The finest stands available for your 1/60 valks are from Yetistands by @ChaoticYeti. Just check the thread here about them, the website and you can ask him questions directly or anyone else. I've used many different stands and these blow them all away in terms of stability, configuration, looks, quality, options, etc...

...4. Yetistand- Most versatile in terms of display options. You can put more than 1 valk on a stand depending on how you configured it. Costs more than Flightpose/Bandai action bases but more stable. Also sells adapters for certain valks that are better than the ones included with the valks.

Yetistand would be the best in terms of display options/availability but pricing might be a factor.

The various Banking/Standing adapters are for attaching the stock clips to a Yeti arm. The "V2 VF-1 Series" adapter replaces the stock fighter mode clip to get gunpod clearance. If you use the stock clip on a Yeti, the gunpod gets jammed against the Yeti arm adapter.

...I second that the Yetistands are the best out there for our macross toys

Thanks everyone. It means a lot to hear your recommendations. Arkham, if you have any questions, just shoot me a PM.

  11. Hey, I haven't looked at that in awhile. Thanks for bringing it up. Last thing I was playing with was having it laser cut aswell, and the idea seemed promising. The launch arms would be articulated, so I don't see why it wouldn't fit a vf-4. I still have a 3d printable design around here somewhere. More concerns with a 3d print would be that my fdm printer wouldn't suffice for the detail, and I would probably put it up on shapeways.
