  1. BTW, does the site re-size the attachments when I upload them? They're all blurry - they were "razor" sharp when I took them, but when I click on them, they all look soft, not like Subaro amazing photos - how does he attach them?

    Looks great!

    Try http://imgur.com/

It's free. You can make an account and create albums and have everything in one place and be able to add to or delete things, or just upload stuff without one for convenience. I have had things hosted for years. Allows high resolution files.

You can just drag and drop images from your computer onto the webpage.

  2. Here ya go! This is what I did to make decals for my Arcadia YF-19 and VF-0D. I re-built all the decals by tracing them over in Adobe Illustrator so they are vector sharp files. If you can print white, then they'll even have an underlay of white. You could send the file to be made into "rub-on" transfers - its a photographic process and very expensive, but it will look awesome. I only did a test one colour process (white only) to test it out and used that as an underlay for my laser printed colour decals.

You can see the results here; http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35120&p=1203668

Let me know how the file works out for you guys. Good luck!

(p.s. I'm offering this file free as payback to this wonderful site that has helped me so much over the years, I hope no one takes this and goes out to make money off of it please.)

These are wonderful, exactly what I wanted to make. Thanks! Your YF-19 and 0D look awesome.

  3. Yes, it is shown on the second Macross Frontier movie for as long as it took Isamu to say his obligatory "Wahoooo".

Yeah, I know where its from, just was trying to figure out why it was being labeled as a VF-19 Advanced, when it looks like a YF-19 and not a VF-19.

YF-19 is the prototype 19 that Isamu flies in PLUS. The VF-19a (VF-19 Advance) is a custom production VF-19 that is made to resemble the prototype from PLUS, which Isamu flies in the Frontier movie.

IRL I would guess that the change simply makes the licencing easier, since the YF-19 licence is already distributed, so labeling the appearance in the movie as a new model/designation meant that Bandai didn't have to deal with existing agreements.

In fiction, I'd point out that the VF-19a isn't a prototype, so it shouldn't carry the YF designation. But it's also not a stock VF-19, since it's been modified to preform/look more like the prototype.

So because Bandai wanted to make a toy for Isamu's SMS YF-19, they came up with the story that it is not a YF-19 but really a VF-19 that has been modded to be like a YF-19....

    Cool.

  4. "Y"F-19 is a prototype.

    "V"F-19 is a production model.

And it is the prototype model, right. So why all the stupid?

VF-19 Advance is the special Isamu custom version of the production model, so it's different again. Yes, it's all a bit confusing, isn't it?

    Is this talked about anywhere?

  5. Honestly, I think they severely underscaled the pilots this time around. The old ones didn't look as nice, but they fit much more closely/realistically in the cockpit.

I have to agree after comparing them to a vf-1 or yf-19 figure. I think I might stuff something under Shin's seat so Edgar doesn't slide under it anytime the valks nose is angled down, which it will be when I put it on the shelf in Gerwalk mode.

I'm glad I picked it up though. I was originally going to pass on it and just grab the 0S and/or 0A but all the pictures here gave me the bug. <_<

  6. I recently purchased a 0D. The thing is huge! The only real complaint I have with it is that when they redesigned the pilot figures, they seemed to forget about the cockpit that they sit in, or in this case slide around in. Edgar is always passing out on is console.

Did anyone apply the stickers? In my experience clear stickers, even when trimmed, never really look nice when on something other than white. I was considering recreating the sticker sheet with Illustrator and printing some water slide decals.

  7. I'm just guessing here. The fin you're referring to is the small fin in red and white near the leg's landing gear, correct? If so, DO NOT GLUE that part when you insert that back in. Since you need to pull that out a little in order to fold the fin and put the GBP leg armors. Look at the picture below (Section 2-09). The F14R/F14L parts says 'No Glue'. Just insert that back in and it's good to go. Anyways, hope that helps. No need to call AmiAmi. ^_^

Do you have the rest of that manual? The other day I was wondering if it was possible to replace a canopy in a VF-1 and this would help.

  8. Sorry about that ........ Never cancelled from them. Never had an account with them until this time. The orders were placed on three different machines using 3 different accounts. They had attempted to pay through credit card.

Try using PayPal. You can set it up so that it charges that same card that you want to use.

  9. I have spent way to much money there this month. The only problem I had was paying directly with my credit card, it bounced backed and failed to process. I then used PayPal and everything went smooth. If that's what your experiencing try PayPal.

  10. as cool as this may be, I doubt I would be comfortable being seen riding it..

If you had the right gear, one of those DYRL motocross helmets and some shoulder pads, you would look like boss.

  11. I wanted to believe that Arcadia fixed the problem with the white, but it is the same as the VF-1S's they released. Comparing the 1J with my Focker 1S and Yamato TV 1A Max you can see the difference in how the white reflects light. It's weird. You don't always see it but it is a different material or paint from the Yamato. In day light, I don't notice it, but under tungsten light it is noticeable.

Overall I'm happy with it. The GPB armor is way more fun than I thought it would be. I originally intended to display him in fighter mode but now I think I need second 1J. Who doesn't want their 1J? :p(seriously) I do wish that it also came with white side covers for non GPB batriod mode.

  12. Oh. Was it? Usually, Arcadia release or POs last longer than Bandai PO releases. 'Not sure why though.'

Yeah. I have been real busy this last month and never got around to it because I figured I still had plenty of time, so I was getting concerned that I missed my chance. And NY just opened preorders back up a couple of hours ago...

  13. Usually or most of the time, NY opens up again upon the toy release. Or some of the time, they will post it up after a day or two of PO items (e.g. Bandai's DX Valks) with a marked up price. Though AmiAmi and HLJ are still open if you're interested. ;)

Thanks, just grabbed one from HLJ. It was not available the other day.

  14. Anyone have any idea if the 0A might show up up again on NY? It seemed like the 1J preorder was available forever and the 0A is already not available. I keep waiting but I guess I could give CDJ my money.

  15. Just to echo what everyone else has posted on the off chance that anyone ever looks here.

    VF-1J Max & Milia

    VF-4 Hikaru

    VT-1 DYRL

Would all be instant buys for me.

I am looking forward to the 0A and 0S. I never got my hands on a Zero so these are very welcome.

  16. Scanlation and fansub drama is endless. It baffles me how big some peoples egos get over this stuff just so SharkMan57 or whoever can get some internet street cred and pretend that they created something.

I'm no saint when it comes to this stuff, but I do my best to support the things that I enjoy. Text translations are they way to go.
